Mountain-view House ~ Mins To Middlebury, Flex Cancellation Policy

Updated and elegantly comfortable house with open floor plan; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (with addition pull-out couch downstairs for overflow)--overlooking gardens and the Adirondack mountains and beyond.

Rare opportunity to rent a lovely home on a magnificent road that offers expansive mountain views. Very functional kitchen with honed granite countertops and stainless steel appliances--excellent fiber optics WIFI. A comfortable dining area with seating for up to 6 people. The downstairs offers a comfortable TV viewing area w/surround sound and comfortable seating. There is also an elliptical should you want to exercise in place. I keep some small weights along with a yoga mat, stretch bands etc where you will find an area to stretch out in— and also with a view of the mountains.

Tucked away downstairs in a large closet is Bosch washer and dryer. Around the corner is a den/office area w/gas stove--another quiet place to work, stretch or read etc.

In colder months, dine while enjoying a crackling fire and in the warmer seasons, while listening to songbirds on the deck. The views and ambient light are constantly changing. Facing west, it is wonderful to watch the weather driving in over the mountains. The living room, dining and kitchen is open with a separate office/den tucked away to the side--all with a mountain views. 2 bedrooms are off of a generous hallway with a linen closet. Both bedrooms have large closets and bureaus--great lighting. Master bedroom has luxurious king bed where you can view the mountains from bed and a private bathroom with large Kohler "tea for two" tub and a separate large walk-in shower. Very robust WIFI and Sonos system throughout entire house. I care about tending to all details in supporting a fabulous stay! Note: For all of my first-time renters, pls tell me some basic information about yourselves ie: your names, if you are a home owner, number of cars for parking, rental history, ages of any children and activities you hope to enjoy while in Vermont--all if which help me support and excellent stay for you all. :)
Cameras at house: garage/outdoor parking area and in the basement furnace/utility room only--no cameras in any living areas of the house.

Perfect Middlebury Experience

The mountain-view house in Cornwall, VT is an exceptional place to stay when visiting Middlebury. The property is very clean, well-equipped, comfortable beds, easy communication and quiet. We had a great experience staying here. We were in town for our Son's graduation . The house is clean, and beautifully decorated with all the amenities for a family stay. The interior was immaculate. Kitchen was outfitted with all the appliances, and gadget required to prepare meals. Fireplace with plenty of wood kept us toasty warm during cold Vermont nights in February. We would definitely stay here again

Lovely, peaceful property

We found Angela’s property after looking for a house nearby Middlebury College, where we were celebrating a graduation. The location was excellent, not exactly walking distance, but a very short drive to Middlebury. The property is impeccably clean, extremely well equipped, and has the most enchanting garden view. We spent three wonderful weeks here. Angela is the perfect host-available, helpful and not intrusive. Her home on the ridge is absolutely beautiful! And the views from the deck are too, especially in the evening watching the sun set over the Adirondack's. This is a great location for exploring the Green mountains, Middlebury and Burlington. Wherever our day trips took us, we were always delighted to return to Angela’s welcoming home. We hope to return!

Beautiful house with amazing sunset views! Close to Middlebury. Friendly neighbors. Kitchen had EVERYTHING one could need. We used the fireplace often on cold snowy nights, which was awesome. Angela (owner) was available by phone when needed, but not hovering. We loved the place. No criticisms.

This rental’s view and 10-minute location from Middlebury was great. It’s clear that the house is a cared for living space for the owner with many personal items around to admire. Angela was very detailed in her instructions. This would not be ideal for families with small children because of all the precious items around the house.

A magical 5 weeks in Angela’s beautiful home!

What a wonderful surprise to open the door to Angela’s home, looking out towards the Adirondacks in the distance, filled with beautiful and charming works of art and tasteful accents, flowers blooming on a restful deck and down and around the impeccable grounds, interesting books to explore in all the nooks and crannies….and plentiful discoveries to make every day more perfect than the day before. I had much to do at the College during my 5 weeks at Angela’s and found it hard to go to “work” each day, but delighted to return to the peace and quiet and comfort of her home. Even the seemingly non-stop summer rain oftentimes pounding incessantly on the roof was a welcome respite from the noise of my home town and I look very much forward to returning. Thank you, Angela, for your always ready to help advice from afar, your exquisite taste and opportunity to experience for way too short a stay your world atop Ridge Road. A très bientôt, j’espère!

This Addison County rental exceeded all expectations. The pictures in the listing are true to life, but the reality of the lovely home is better than the pictures. What the pictures don't show is the abundance of interesting reading materials and artwork, and the casual chic ambiance. The home is immaculate, comfortable, and well-appointed with high-quality appliances, excellent mattresses, and luxury bath fixtures. The kitchen has ample counters, and the full complement of cooking tools inspires delicious meals made with Vermont's finest foods. The views of the Adirondack mountains provide lush eye candy in almost every room. We spent a lot of time on the deck with the awesome view, bright blooming flowers, singing birds, including daily visits by a hummingbird. The home is located a few minutes from Middlebury College and about 10 minutes from downtown Middlebury. The location is convenient to all the sites in lovely Addison County. Our host was very hospitable and conscientious -- she responded quickly to questions, kept us well informed, and was flexible. Most highly recommended!

Verdant retreat in Vermont

This house is rather unassuming on the outside; not a classic country house by any mean, but what the owner did with it made our stay exceptional. The master bedroom and bathroom, living room and kitchen all have large picture windows overlooking the Champlain Valley with the Adirondacks in the distance. It was easy to just sit there and spend 15 minutes just staring into this quiet expanse. A bird feeder on the back deck brought an array of song birds within easy viewing. The interior has been modernized and the kitchen is as well appointed as any we’ve seen. Books of all sorts line the walls, so if you don’t bring anything appealing to read you can likely find something. If nothing else, there are many books to just casually browse through. A working fireplace made the place feel cozy as the early twilight set in. The house is a couple of miles outside of Middlebury, which has good shopping and is worth an afternoon to stroll through and check some of the historical sites. Highly recommend turning on any side road and taking a detour. The countryside is a delight, a mix of working farms and rural retreats. The same is true of the road where the house sits; it is in unpaved and very lightly traveled, just what city dwellers like us wanted.

a little piece of paradise

We rented Angela's property around the first week of September for a much-needed break. I and my wife were looking for a shelter from the mayhem that the world has been and wanted absolute solitude and peace. This place offered that and a lot more The location was perfectly hidden in perfect seclusion but close proximity to the Middlebury town. All amenities could be picked up by a 5-minute drive. I cant tell enough about the walk along the ridge road in the early morning. You have to experience it and soak every bit of it in your senses. The house gives away little from outside but wraps a lot within. It is the most tastefully decorated and maintained property that I have rented in past few years. every nook and corner speaks of the owner's attention to detail and personalized attention. If you are a book lover there is a treasure trove waiting inside. And the views from the living room, master bedroom, and patio are otherworldly. at times we even woke up and stared out in the darkness of the night or dawn to experience the view from the giant bedside window, This house had promised through the pictures we saw. I am so glad to say that it fulfilled every bit of it and more. Would love to come back again

Beautiful home

We were two couples visiting our daughters during Middlebury Family Weekend. Angela’s home is a short and easy drive to campus and everything about Angela’s home is perfect. The home itself is beautifully renovated and the space is clean, bright and open. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals. There are stunning views of the mountains from practically every room. On warmer days we enjoyed the view from the deck and on colder ones we enjoyed it while sitting in front of a wood fire eating and drinking the delicious snacks from Angela. We can’t wait to stay there again for our daughters’ final Middlebury Family Weekend!

Perfectly appointed, beautiful views

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the property during a recent visit with our mother, who recently sold her house in the area to move to a local retirement community. We were initially drawn to the location knowing that it was convenient to the many attractions in the Middlebury area and that it would have beautiful views of the Adirondacks. The house met and exceeded our expectations. It has been renovated to maximize the views of the mountains, and it is wonderfully appointed with quality linens and everything you might need in the kitchen (including a diverse selection of cookbooks). We also took advantage of the comfortable office space and workout equipment. Our host was extremely pleasant to deal with and shared a lot of helpful local information. I highly recommend this property and would absolutely stay there again. We visited in late March, which is perhaps the worst time of the year to visit Vermont, so I am sure it would be even better to stay at the house during the Summer, Fall and ski season.

Beautiful home, stunning views and serene experience

My college-aged daughter and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at this beautiful home. We needed a place for quiet respite and Angela's place was perfect. Everything was spotless, the kitchen was beautiful and well-stocked, the living room was very comfortable and the views were amazing all times of day. The road was very quiet (there was absolutely NO traffic on the road) and the beds were amazingly comfortable so we slept very well. We felt in the lap of luxury. (The wine, cheese, crackers and chocolate that greeted us also helped... not to mention coffee and eggs!) The tub is highly recommended for a relaxing soak whether you are watching the sunset or the moon. We enjoyed watching all kinds of birds visit the feeders - what a joy! Everything about this place was perfect for us. Communication with Angela was fabulous and she left clear instructions about everything so we could use all the kitchen appliances etc. Since I am a frequent visitor to Middlebury, I hope to book another stay.

White Christmas in Vermont

My husband, 6 year old son and I spent a magical week at Angela's house over Christmas 2021. Angela is a very conscientious host - and for good reason; the kitchen is completely stocked with top of the line cookware which made it a joy to cook holiday meals at home. The entire home is meticulously decorated and adorned with personal items and books, creating a warm and inviting living space. During the day, every room of the house gets wonderful natural light. The western facing windows in the living room offer gorgeous views of the sunset over the snowy landscape. The lower floor is well-lit and offers just enough space and equipment for satisfying workouts. In the evenings, we thoroughly enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace. The location is a quiet residential street and is less than a 5-minute drive to downtown Middlebury. We greatly appreciated Angela's clear communications and her attention to detail in making us feel most welcome in her home!

Why they chose this property

The house is located on a road that is elevated with surrounding views of the Green and Adirondack mountains--beautiful meadows and vistas with access to the TAM pathways that meander throughout Middlebury and beyond. In the winter months, there’s excellent x-country and downhill skiing nearby--hard to beat--great hiking for all seasons. Burlington is just a 45-minute drive north, where you can visit the spectacular Shelburne Museum and Farms--a world class cultural destination. Burlington has many local fare restaurants with eclectic shops and easy access to Lake Champlain for bike rides, strolls etc.

What makes this property unique

Solar panels, heat pump, Tesla batteries (backup for outages) and outdoor landscaping w/comfortable seating spots outside. The fireplace in the living room burns beautifully and the house is very well insulated and tight. There are large windows in the master bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. The deck is a great place for grilling or just to sit and read a book in very comfortable outdoor furniture. Lots of song birds fill the air.
