The home is a great place to vacation in. The home is very user friendly with a great location on the lake.
The only 2 items I didn't like was the main floor doesn't have a powder room and the lower set of stairs by the lake needs some repairs.
We took our yearly family vacation with our 5 Adult kids, and we chose Lake Nacimiento. The Westra's Waterfront home was perfect for us. We enjoyed the decks for hanging out and grilling. We were happy that it had its private boat slip, which made it easy to take the boat out.Downfalls - Unfortunately, there was a power outage due to the winds. There isn't a bathroom on the main floor. With that said, we are planning to return next year.
Overall nice place. The house is lake front but still requires a hike to get to the water( typical in Oak Shores). The boat dock faces the main body of water so make sure you know how to tie up your boat or it will take a beating. The layout of this home is a bit odd there is no bathroom on the main floor you have to go upstairs or downstairs from the living area
Beautiful surrounding area. The lake was very low because CA is in a drought but the view was still spectacular. Deer sightings every day we were there.
The house could use a bathroom on the main floor for connivence to not have to do stairs every time. The bedrooms are nicely decorated but the mattresses could use an update. That would be the only thing we would recommend to the property owners. Other than that, beautiful rental experience.
What a weekend! My friends and I take an end of the lake season trip each year, and stayed in Oak Shores for the second year in a row, this time at the Westra Waterfront Abode. What a find! This house was perfect for 7 adults - there was a ton of room to spread out, and having four bedrooms allowed each couple to have their own time too. Having three full bathrooms was fantastic. There was plenty of space so everyone could be together, but also take a breather as well. I spent most of the time out on the back dock of the main level, waiting bald eagles and enjoying the peace and quiet of Naci in October. There were so many birds and deer to watch. The kitchen was an awesome size, and had everything that we needed to make meals. We brought a boat with us and kept it at the main marina at Oak Shores, which was easy to access. Keeping the trailer up at the house was also awesome. Joe was very communicative and answered all of my questions leading up to our trip, and our contact within Oak Shores, Judy, was so great about checking in and making sure we had everything. I would 100% rent this house and rent from Central Coast Getaways (Dragon Lake Rentals) again!
This was the most hassle - stress-free getaway ever!!
I can honestly say I just do not know how this could have gone better. Not only did everything go exactly as planned on a very busy three-day holiday, but we also rented a boat and Joe the property manager was amazing to work with. When we did have a question, a simple text was replied to in less than 5 minutes. He went out of his way to go do everything he possibly could and not have us troubled. Even refueled the boat for us. Will absolutely be doing this again and often. The most hassle-free getaway ever. THANK YOU JOE & JUDY (and Judy's husband) 😊
3 couples stayed for three nights over Memorial Day weekend. In general, gorgeous views lakefront, but the condition was very disappointing. The general improvements were circa midnight 1980s and frankly, some of the furniture in the living room was stained or just showing 40 years of wear and tear. The third queen size bedroom they advertise on the first floor access is through a 2 foot wide door with a very, very awkward spiral staircase into the first floor or basement, clearly an add-on. Lastly, if you have a boat, you can’t use their dock because the stairs the dock and about 10 feet above the water due to damage to their waterfront. So you’d either have to get permission from adjoining dock owners to dock your boat or park in the marina. Lastly we had three couples three separate schedules so we drove three cars. The place only allows two cars and Oak Shores requires the third car to park 2 1/2 miles away and a campground. That whole process is really inconvenient. Property managers did what they could and were responsive . Generally disappointing.
Great home for our family of 8. Loved having the private, super convenient. We also really enjoyed all the decks on the back of the house with the spectacular lake views. Lake was low, but still beautiful.
We had a wonderful week with the family. Love the lake view and we had 5 cows grazing in the yard the last day we were there. That was a sight to see! The management team was efficient with the check in procedures and were there for us before during and after our stay. The house was clean and sanitized and we felt very comfortable there.
