We know you are ready for beach fun and relaxation!!!! Walking in the back door gives you the feeling you are on the beach already!! What a view. !! Can't beat this location. Access to the beach is directly in front of this home. ....Never tug all your heavy beach items a long way again!!! ...Walking on the sand dunes is not permitted, so there will be no problem here...........Being oceanfront makes it easy to watch your children or family members from the deck.....feeling as though you are on the beach with them...... Unobstructed views of the ocean as far as the eye can see. Watch the most beautiful views of the sun rising or setting. The home is spacious with plenty of "moving" room . TWO FULL SIZE DECKS.....UPPER AND GROUND LEVEL..with seating on each........ A shower access is also directly in front of our home (post Q) and one private shower located behind home. It is great to have 5 huge sliding doors on main floor...(3 across front) for convenience and a view of the ocean..........Ocean / beach can be seen from all windows and doors......
FIRST FLOOR: 1 Bedroom with queen bed. Over-sized full bath, with two deep stainless sinks and washer /dryer. Long dining table to seat 8 people. Bar and stools also. SECOND FLOOR: 4 bedrooms - back room (right )with 1 twin bed, front room (right)with 2 standards ,....... back room(Left) with 1 king , front (left) with one king.....full bathroom and closets....... Fully equipped Kitchen with coffee makers and microwave oven. and big crock pot. A toaster/fry oven is also available. Two picnic tables on front deck along with comfortable captain chairs...loungers. Your elderly loved ones will have fun sitting on the deck or inside watching their family on the beach............The home is well kept with a regular maintenance routine.
You are within walking distance of great amenities: Large outdoor pool with kiddie pool and seating, indoor pool with seating also,, water park including slides and lazy river, recreation center offers ping pong tables and bike rentals, also corn hole boards..... play ground includes swings, basketball and volleyball courts & shuffleboard, an event center for special events, bingo etc. , game room, store and laundry mat. It is also easy to walk to the snack shop and grab breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or walk to Surfside peer to grab a good meal....their .hamburgers are delicious. Church services are held in park also....You could never leave Ocean Lakes campground and still have all you need...........But--. It is only a short driving distance to many good stores and great restaurants.......Marshalls, Target, Kohls, Hamricks, Ross, Beales, Ulta , Kirklands, Market Commons, Broadway at the Beach, Harbor Freight, Ollies and Wal Mart. We had the best time staying at The Lighthouse for our Halloween weekend at OL . The house was clean and we loved all the rooms options. Wish it did have one more bathroom, but it worked out good ! The beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed. The views were absolutely wonderful and breathtaking, especially watching the sunrise !! We will definitely will stay here again in the future !!

This house had absolutely everything we could ask for. To start with reasonable rates to be ocean front. The closest distance to the beach of any place in ocean lakes. The views from the house were amazing. Our family of ten enjoyed eating on the picnic tables on the deck. Had enough room for our three cars and also our three golf carts. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone and we plan on staying again next summer.

Location, location, location! This property is literally a few steps from the beach, insanely convenient for all the beach goer’s in the house. I would agree with some of the other reviews regarding space. It felt tight in the bedrooms, but given we were only in them to sleep, not a big deal. View from the deck was amazing. Communication with the property manager was great. We did reach out about the grill not working, the owner responded quickly and had someone out to fix same day, which was greatly appreciated (really nice grill!). *minor tips for future guests* Wi-Fi, had a hard time keeping connection. Not sure if that’s something the owner could control and we didn’t reach out to ask. If you have to work or connect, personal hot spot would be a recommendation as back up. We use a lot of ice for water bottles etc. Freezer doesn’t have an ice maker, trays are provided. Just keep in mind that you’ll need space for ice bags or bring a few extra trays. No garbage disposal, so bring extra trash bags. Very convenient trash pickup schedule, so food scraps aren’t sitting around long. Overall excellent stay and would totally recommend to friends & family!

Thank you for your nice review. We did have an issue with Spectrum at that time. We did have ice trays in the freezer. Many people have decided not to use the filter refrigerators due to them leaking and not performing properly.. We always supply trash bags.....maybe a possibility that tenants take them, thinking they are theirs. As far as trash setting around, trash cans under home are available for use at all times .so trash never has to be setting inside home. Once a child puts something in disposal and causes damage, it is hard to get someone to replace it right away....then you do have an issue. with food scraps .
The best thing about this house is the location, which cannot be beat. You might as well have private beach access, as it is literally just across the street.
The campground itself is also great, and it's a short walk to the terrific pool, waterpark, and activity centers. It's amazing for young kids. The front of the house gives a beautiful view of the beach.
The house itself is very no-frills. The two front bedrooms upstairs seem to have been split in half to create additional rooms, which is fine, but it does mean that the front bedrooms have walls which do not reach all the way to the ceiling and no closets, and the back rooms are quite small.
There are no toys, games, puzzles, electric kettle or drying rack, and no lamps in the bedrooms (one in the living room) - basically very few homely touches. It was a nice surprise to have linens included, though.
The host has written little instructions/prohibitions in marker on the walls and cupboards, and some of the ornaments are glued to tables, which contributes to a less hospitable feeling as a whole. Some of the house is also showing some wear, with damaged cupboard fronts and mirrors, etc.
Overall the location of the house is terrific, but the property is slightly less comfortable and updated than I would expect for the price. We do appreciate the chance to stay there though and are thankful to Virginia for her help throughout our stay.

We are so sorry you were not pleased with our home. "Frills" is something we don't think about since we like for our tenants to be as comfortable as possible......everyone has different taste...we try to keep as simple as possible but updated....We try to be as uncluttered as possible so the tenants will have more space for their belongings. Not sure what is damaged on the cupboard fronts.....? We also do our best to keep items (no ornaments) from being fully accessible to small children. We are sorry you were uncomfortable having to deal with the drape being pulled down by your son the night of your arrival. We could not get anyone out there until the next day at no charge to you. Not sure what an electric kettle is but we do supply a huge slow cooker / crock pot . So very sorry the instructions on the wall in the bathroom disturbed you, but tenants knock frames off the walls. People tend to place shower curtain in tub along with the liner.... All homes in Ocean Lakes are built to code with same square footage....Closets are provided. It is impossible for two walls to be any higher with high ceilings upstairs . We have tenants that have rented for over 15 years......Had no idea these small things as a note next to tub, were deal breakers for anyone........Thank you for choosing Lighthouse.....

Our family just returned from vacation & we’ve had time to reflect on our experience from this rental…..there were good moments & not so good moments. Communication is key & get it in writing!..I actually tried to cancel this rental back in May because we would have one xtra guest for 2 nights & the xtra fee homeowner required after Vrbo booking. The homeowner called & we “talked” & she waived the fee & approved the xtra guest for the 2 nights…that is until they were on their way to the beach & we needed a car pass! She was hard to contact & didn’t remember that conversation. It ruined most of that evening trying to get in touch with her & trying to get her to remember that conversation. Also, my husband stayed up half the night to send all info to her on a spreadsheet she sent us to fill out & send back…to get a msg the next morning that she couldn’t open it…good grief, we only returned what she sent us…vacation shouldn’t be this hard, but that day was hard! …All worked out in the end, so we were happy to have a couple of nights with everyone there. Other than that, some of the rules seemed extreme with one stating no sand in house🤨..at a beach house?
Also, some rooms upstairs appeared to be walk in closets & were very warm & small…I could nitpick the cleanliness of house, but it’s a rental & I understand that, so it was good considering. Now the positives were, the views!!! We watched the sunrise from our deck every morning! We could watch our kids playing on the beach from our deck! The beach entrance was right there at home! So convenient!!!
Overall, our vacation was great…just some road bumps along the way!

We are so sorry you felt we were not carrying through the way you expected. When we send out for vehicle info, we need all info up front to get people in. That way no one would be inconvenienced later by us having to contact you on the day of their arrival. When you requested later for one more guest to come. We let you bring them in and since you had an infant, we would not count the infant so your quota would not go over your 10 that was allowed. That extra person came with 2 more.....which we let come in also. We tried to be nice by waiving your security deposit since you said you could not afford it due to vrbo charging a 10% fee on your rental......And you wanted to rent golf carts for your children. We feel we did what we could to make your vacation a pleasant one. Yes we request that sand be washed off before entering home......it is much more comfortable when there is no sand in the beds or on the sofas not to mention clogged drains. A happy and relaxing vacation comes when all rules are followed.
We had a wonderful stay, and the location couldn't be any better. It's not directly on the 'cruising' lane, so we didn't worry about too much noise or chaos from other vacationers.
We loved our stay at the light house. A great location. Really the best location. We could sit on the deck and relax. While watching our 3 grandchildren play and enjoy themselves. It was prefect for the 10 of us. Some issues with the wifi. Mrs Virginia got right on top of it for us. We will return. Love our stay. Thank you Mrs Virginia!

House is located across from the beach access.. Walk 100 ft and you are walking in the ocean. Golf cart community makes it fun to easily get around. The water park is great for both teens and grade school ages. Nature center has " meet a snake" and "meet an alligator" days. My grandson, 14 joined a ping pong tournament. Lots of activities for teens and kids. Easy access to the beach for sun and relaxation. Recommend to family and friends.

Lighthouse at Seaside is one of the few homes that is very close to the beach and ocean....probably the closest since opening to beach is directly in front of home. The water park is amazing.....children love it , but so do the adults. A restful tube ride down the lazy river is enjoyed by adults also.

There was no mention of paying for parking. In addition to the rental charge, 3 months later we were told we needed to pay $70 per vehicle to park.
Check was 4:00 for thousands of people and it took 2 hours to get into the community and part of that issue was we were never mailed our parking passes.
My suggestion would be to stagger check in or make sure the community emails the parking passes rather than mail them and people could print them out.

Hi Shellie, The parking fees and the check- in time were both mentioned on your contract. Check in cannot be staggered. Cleaning service has a window between 10:00 and 4:00. We are not the only home they clean and we do not know at what time our's would be on their schedule during that time... It would not be secure or wise to email the passes. In one sentence you said they were never mailed, and in another you mentioned you would rather have had them "emailed" rather than "mailed"...??
We went with six adults, and we all had a great time. It is pretty much right on the beach (just a small, private road to cross) and there are many other activities to do as part of the facility. We had a great time. The owner is very nice and helpful, and I appreciate her help with our planning. The house is spacious, though two of the upstairs rooms are quite small. I would guess that two large rooms upstairs have been converted to four smaller rooms. But they were big enough to sleep and they were comfortable. Great spaces downstairs especially and the deck is fantastic. The only two issues that stood out was a shower curtain that severely needed cleaning (we just went to the dollar tree and bought one, no big deal) and the grill does not work reliably (it will not heat enough to cook and the controls are frozen). The kitchen though was great and fully furnished and we very much enjoyed our stay. We would look to come back for sure if we come back to Myrtle Beach.
The property is clean and as described. Love the beachfront view. We were able to see the kids on the beach from the deck. My mother, who doesn't want to go onto the beach, was able to watch from the deck. There were some fireworks on the beach and we had a front row seat. Although golf carts are available to rent, we didn't need it because of how close we were to the ocean. We brought our bikes to ride to the waterpark and mart on Ocean Lakes.

Location was great. The place was very nice. Only 3 complaints there were cockroaches. I am hoping it's because there was a palm tree next to the house and I was told they love palm tree,but they need to take care of cockroaches. Gross. The second complaint was that 2 of the bedrooms were like closets. Very tiny and they both got very warm trying to sleep in them. Need fans in them and not the old one they had sitting in the one that did crap. Ended up on the couch downstairs because it was to warm in the 2 rooms. I am also concerned because they said things got to be perfect when we leave, but when we got there a few things were wrong like ripped screens and the grill was disgusting and than once we cleaned it wouldn't work well. Bummer because we wanted to cook out alot . But the lady who owned it was great when we talked to her and other than those 3 things we really enjoyed it and glad we stayed there. If they could fix those things Esp. the cockroaches and fans and grill well than would love to go back.

We hate you had some things you did not like about our home. We try to make it pleasant for everyone. We have the home sprayed regularly. Leaving doors open or traveling in and out of them during the night will definitely give the palmetto bugs free reign to come inside. The AC should have accommodated you to keep the home cool unless windows and doors were left open while it was trying to cool. Not sure where the fan came from.

Policies, questions, contracts, fees, and fines.
Advice: Not suggested for younger children (homeowner actually admitted that she became nervous when she realized our party included a toddler). Immediately report any changes in contract info to the homeowner and grounds security, insignificant details or not. Do not skim the 14 house rules, read them thoroughly and you would do well to memorize the Ocean Lakes policies as well. I had only visited this community once before as a guest to the renting party, this visit was my first experience as the renting party and I learned after our trip that my family pretty much did everything incorrectly. I succumbed to a conversation with the homeowner after our visit that left me in tears. The homeowner graciously returned a portion of our deposit even though breaking house rules usually voids any refund. I think the homeowner knows that our family meant no harm, but I would choose a different property in the future.

We love children....and they are very welcome in our home. It is expected that tenants read and follow our rules as well as Ocean Lakes rules. When our property is damaged or taken advantage of, we do have the right to keep a deposit to replace or repair. We do not like to hear that a tenant has entered Ocean Lakes without proper paperwork or that a security guard has to reprimand a tenant for not checking into the office properly.

After being in Ocean Lakes family campground for over 40 years, we are still enjoying the blessings God has given us. The beautiful sunrise and sunsets, not to mention the beautiful view of the ocean. Being able to get up early and see the fog covering the ocean while enjoying that fresh cup of coffee and even breakfast on the deck. Our children and grandchildren have truly enjoyed our home since they were toddlers . Meeting and talking to new people has always been a pleasure. Prayers that each of our tenants will have a wonderful vacation during your stay with us. What a life to enjoy all the beauty God has made possible.
Why they chose this property
We strive to keep our home clean and updated....and uncluttered for our tenants. New items have been added over the years for your comfort and convenience. We have a deck on the main floor as well as a deck under the home. Both decks have a view of the ocean. Tables and chairs are supplied for each deck. The upper deck has 2 picnic tables and lounge chairs while the bottom deck has sitting area and a grill. Landscaping is very neat and enjoyable and not intruding on parking area. We try to keep up with "today's look".
