About this property

2-Bedroom Ocean-View Condo with Pool

Summary:
The newly renovated Omega 2 in Flamingo is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath condo with a swimming pool and a nice view of Costa Rica’s picturesque Potrero Bay.

The Space:
The newly renovated Omega 2 in Flamingo is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath condo with a swimming pool and a nice view of Costa Rica’s picturesque Potrero Bay.

Located just up the hill from the excellent Super Massai grocery store, Omega 2 is a few blocks from the beach and within walking distance of several restaurants, two banks and a hardware store. Rising above the greenery and neighboring homes, Omega 2 offers a beautiful view of the bay. The condo’s covered outdoor terrace is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. For birdwatchers, this is a dream locale. You’ll hear and see birds in the surrounding trees without much effort, but with a pair of binoculars you could follow the morning habits of several species that call the region home. Scarlet macaws, colorful motmots, white-throated magpie jays and even tiger herons have been spotted from the terrace of Omega 2.

**The property generally does not allow animals or pets, this includes service and emotional support animals. For detailed information, please refer to the booking policy and/or house rules.**

Omega 2, Flamingo Features

Clean, modern lines and a minimalist style characterize this comfortable condo. A tropical beach theme emerges from the soft sky and sand tones, with a few bright pops of color. The bathroom is accommodating for couples or families, with double vanity sinks that are separated from the spacious shower area. This unit makes excellent use of space, with the dining and living room areas arranged in one contiguous open-concept room. This has the effect of creating a mult-functional space where togetherness and conversations are as easy as the ocean breeze. Also, the layout allows the kitchen, dining area, and living room to all enjoy the same view through the large glass doors that lead to the terrace. If your stay in Flamingo is influenced at all by its famous sportfishing, then find a captain and grab a rod. There are a number of offshore and inshore sportfishing tours to choose from. Book your fishing trip in advance to make sure you don’t miss out.

Adventure awaits

Your rental will be stocked with a welcome basket of coffee, coffee filters, salt, pepper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels, cooking oil and Costa Rica’s famous Salsa Lizano. Guest Access:
Private balcony with ocean view

The Neighborhood:
Altos de Flamingo is a gated community in the heart of Flamingo. Upper units offer spectacular views of Potrero Bay and the green hillsides all around. It’s located right next to the excellent Super Massai grocery store, a string of restaurants, hardware stores, banks, a medical clinic and other conveniences.

You can walk four blocks to the beach, and from here it’s a short drive to the new Marina Flamingo, or to the nearby towns and beaches of Surfside, Potrero, Las Catalinas, Brasilito, Conchal and Grande. Altos de Flamingo provides a convenient and central location to explore all of Guanacaste’s resplendent Gold Coast.

Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo.
Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences.
A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz.
Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store.
Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.

Getting Around:
Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.

We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.

Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.

Other Things to Note:
Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification. Before your stay begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking. You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.

Gorgeous View
There are many things you will like about Omega 2. It has a most beautiful view of the ocean and mountains with lush tropical foliage between you and the ocean. You can never tire of that view every day. The apartment was well furnished and nicely appointed in all rooms. There were plenty of kitchen amenities, dishes, utensils, and towels for your stay. The pool was an awesome 70 degrees or so and it was very comfortable once you acclimatized to the cool temp. A welcome cool off. The condo building is approximately 150 feet of elevation from the street level so you have quite a hill to climb at about 12 degree elevation. I was completely out of breath when I climbed it. Fortunately we rented a golf cart to get us up and down the hill. I recommend a golf cart or renting a vehicle as many of the restaurants were quite far away if you had to walk. Once you get through to the right person, Special Places of Costa Rica was able to send out maintenance people quite quickly for the two times the hot water tank stopped operating, when the dishwasher flooded all over the kitchen floor, and when the Air Conditioning leaked all over the kitchen floor. The maintenance people were very helpful, however, do not try to contact the concierge between 16:00:01 on Thursday until 08:00 on Monday as they will not respond. You must spray phone calls and emails to everyone you know at Special Places Of Costa Rica in order to contact the maintenance folks. Water was not available to us for several hours for at least 4 days but we managed to fill up bottles of water from the pool so we could flush the toilets and give ourselves sponge baths before we left for the airport to come home. Overall a lovely stay. Would not recommend if you are infirm. I do recommend a car.
