Home Brought Back to Life Hidden Off One of Hilo's Main Streets.
Aloha! We are Keone and Yonnell Farias. We were both born and raised here on this wonderful island. We welcome you to our beautiful re-done home and would be happy to share with you our favorite places. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Waiakea Uka, we are a short 10-minute ride from the airport, 35 minutes to the Volcano, and just a few minutes from local grocery stores and eateries! Like the house we grew up in..3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, open living room, nostalgic family room, kitchen opens to the dining room, huge yard with fruit trees, and beautiful local garden. A flag lot off one of Hilo's main streets leaves easy access yet privacy for your getaway. There is a nice story behind Maunaleo, Keone would run pass this home from teen years to adulthood, he would always admire the fruit trees in the yard. One day a year ago, he saw it was for sale. We quickly called the realtor and put in a bid for it. We were blessed to get it. For a year we called it our "new, old house", our "work in progress". We talked to many of the neighbors who gave us the history of the place, we decided to keep some its nostalgic beauty. We put a lot of love, a lot of hard, long workdays, and it finally got to where it is. Now we'd like to share it with you! We're sad to add this to our message to guests but care about your security and hard-earned money: We are a legally registered property, all bookings are only done on rental sites, we would not solicit through social media messaging. Please do not book or send money through them.

The home was in a quiet neighborhood. Having all of the “extras” like a cooler, ice packs, cooking equipment, beach chairs, comfortable beds and the large living room space made it an enjoyable stay!
All was good, didn’t spend much time in the house. Mostly to sleep because spent most of the day out and about mostly visiting Ohana. Mahalo for sharing your home we my Ohana and I.
Wonderful and comfortable home with good vibes. It was very rainy one of the days we were in Hilo and it was great to have a spacious place to hang out, play board games, watch a movie and chill.

The property was exactly as advertised and extremely clean and well-kept. The location was a little tricky, but the host’s instructions helped us find it easily. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and we had a great weekend stay.

This property immediately gives you a sense of HOME upon walking in. Our family lives in Kona and we often travel to Hilo for the drag racing as my daughter races. This labor day weekend was a jammed packed 3 day racing event and the hotel prizes were OUTRAGEOUS!! Having the opportunity to stay at this property made our stay less stressful with the comforts of a home, we were able to cook and being conveniently close to downtown made it EXTRA sweet!! Already looking to book the next race with a stay here!! Mahalo to Keone and Yonnell who both were amazing with communication!
Thank you Yonelle and Keone for welcoming us into your house! It was the perfect location, close to town, beaches and UH Hilo to visit our daughter! Super clean & comfortable. They expressed concern with people picking form their beautiful mango tree, which we completely understood, but they were so generous to bring us fresh sliced mango! Our kids were so happy! Yonelle gave us different ideas of things to do on the island, and everyone had a great time. -They had everything we needed, from kitchen condiments to beach chairs and coolers. Definitely hoping to come back again soon. Thank you so much!
This house is much nicer than the pictures portrayed. Super clean. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of room for a family of five. Would definitely stay here again. Close to Downtown Hiko….as well as waterfalls and Volcano National Park.
