House is great - lots of space to spread out among the main and game room floors. Close to village and restaurants.

There were numerous issues with this property that did not meet acceptable standards. I had read previous reviews mentioning similar concerns and assumed those matters had been addressed. I chose to give you the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the same problems remain unresolved.Several listed amenities were not in working condition, including the fireplace, blender, multiple TVs, and the mattress on the second floor, which clearly needs to be replaced. Amenities that are not functional should not be advertised.Additionally, when I asked Bianca at 8:39 a.m. if there were extra kitchen paper towels (as the roll provided was nearly finished when we arrived), I was told, I could go to the office to get one when it opened at 11:00 a.m. That response was not helpful given the situation. For the price charged, the property should be properly maintained and fully functional. When a home is marketed as a “Luxury Lodge Estate,” I expect it to reflect that standard upon arrival.

Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. We sincerely apologize that your stay did not meet the "Luxury Lodge Estate" standards we strive to uphold. It is truly disappointing to hear that you gave us the benefit of the doubt regarding previous concerns and that we let you down; this is not the experience we want for our guests.
We take your comments regarding the fireplace, blender, TVs, and the second-floor mattress very seriously. We have already dispatched our maintenance team to repair or replace these items immediately to ensure they are fully functional for future stays. Furthermore, we apologize for the unhelpful response you received regarding the kitchen supplies. We are reviewing our internal communication protocols to ensure our team provides more proactive and convenient solutions for our guests' needs.
We understand your frustration regarding the value and maintenance of the property. We are committed to addressing these issues once and for all. We would appreciate the opportunity to host you again in the future to provide the true luxury, high-quality experience that you expected and deserve.

I’m not exactly sure who gets the review VRBO or Big Bear Vacations?? my communications have mostly been through Freddy at big Bear vacation rentals. He was excellent at answering all of my questions prior to the trip. However upon arriving there was several things that were very disappointing. I would say number one on my list would be that the fireplace in the living area is still not working despite the fact that other reviewers have made the same comment and it doesn’t seem like whoever the management is is making any effort to rectify this. The out of order decal had dust on it so you could tell it had been on there for a long time. Most people going to the mountains with their family part of the experience is the ambience of a working fireplace as you gather together. Another thing that was disappointing was some of the cleanliness which has also been commented on many times. Looks like most of the excellent ratings were from quite a while ago and perhaps whoever it is that’s responsible for the maintenance is no longer doing an adequate job? Several times other guests have mentioned these exact same things as well as commenting on how dirty the patio is covered with leaves and debris. When we got there it was the same thing and the cushions on the chairs were on the ground we literally had to clean everything off in order to sit out there. Again these are comments that seem to be expressed and yet all that is said is that the management would be talked to you about it

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your kind words about Freddy and are glad to hear he was helpful and responsive leading up to your trip.
That said, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced upon arrival. We completely understand how important a working fireplace is to the mountain experience, especially when gathering with family. Your concern about it remaining out of order — particularly after previous mentions — is valid, and we understand how that can feel frustrating. This has been escalated for review to ensure there is a clear update and resolution plan rather than simply acknowledging it without follow-through.
We’re also very sorry to hear about the cleanliness concerns and the condition of the patio upon arrival. Having to clean outdoor furniture before being able to use it is not the experience we want for our guests. Your comments regarding recurring feedback are taken seriously, and we are reviewing both maintenance and housekeeping oversight processes to ensure higher consistency and accountability moving forward.
We truly value candid feedback like yours because it highlights where improvement is necessary. While we regret that your stay did not fully meet expectations, we appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention in detail.
The management company was responsive to our requests for repairs. The issues with the property should be relatively easy to fix. However, not having a working heater the entire stay, a working fireplace at all and hot water and appropriate water pressure on the last day made for an issue regarding our comfort and enjoyment. The property is perfect for a large group with several cars. It’s a good fenced in yard for dogs. There were no shovels, scrapers, or anything one might need to help with snow available for us. They did send someone to remove the ice for us but it took awhile since the driveway is long and steep.

Thank you for your feedback, Lysa. We appreciate your kind words about our responsiveness and are glad the property suited your group and dogs well. That said, we’re truly sorry for the issues you encountered with the heater, fireplace, and water pressure, as well as the lack of snow tools. We understand how these impacted your stay, and we’ll be reviewing how we can better prepare for winter conditions. Your insights are invaluable, and we hope for the opportunity to provide a smoother experience in the future.

Cleanliness during COVID times
We had a good time, it was the first time we were able to get together in one place after a long time but these are some of our concerns:
1. Cleanliness -When we checked in, we were told it was ready for occupancy. However, when we went to the deck on the first and second floor, they were all dirty. The deck was strewn with leaves. It hasn’t been cleaned in a while because there were cobwebs and all the furnitures were grimy. It’s bad enough that we have to worry about disinfecting common areas nowadays but the place was simply not clean.
We notified the vacation office right away. We called and sent them pictures. We got tired of waiting for someone to arrive. Since it was a hot day and it was cutting into our precious short weekend together, we took the initiative to clean the deck and wipe down all the furnitures. We called the vacation office to cancel the cleaning.
2. Bathroom - Downstairs bathroom doesn’t have enough pressure and hot water.
3. TV - TV in all the rooms were not working, except the TV in the living room.
4. Kitchen-One of the stove burners was not working properly.
5. Bedrooms - The website states that this was a six bedroom home. However, there were only five bedrooms. The 5th bedroom had an adjacent room (that did not have a door for privacy).
During COVID-19, it will probably promote confidence in people to start vacationing again if the visitors are assured that the place would be sanitized after every use. However, the fact that the place had cobwebs is an indication that it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Even rental cars now have a seal at the door to ensure that the cars were properly cleaned after each renter.
Tv’s, stove, etc. - Maybe have a checklist to ensure that all items are in good working condition.
Cleaning fee - We had to pay a hefty cleaning fee but we ended up cleaning the place ourselves. We had limited time together. It was supposed to be a reunion after a long time. We cannot get the precious time back but we did it on our own for our own protection as well. However, future guests may not be as understanding as us.
