Everything about the property was wonderful and as expected.
We very much enjoyed our stay. This was the right property in the right location for our plans in the Cashiers area. We are already planning to return.

Beware of the bears!
This is a very nice, comfortable house that is accurately represented by the photos in the listing. One thing renters should be aware of is this neighborhood has a black bear problem. Each night, we were visited by a large mother bear, sometimes with her three cubs in tow. While this may seem fun and cute, they went through our trash nightly (despite it being placed in the locked outdoor garbage cans provided by the neighborhood) and repeatedly came within 8 feet of our front door during broad daylight. I contacted the NC Division of Wildlife Management about this issue and was told to "enjoy the bears from a safe distance". For those who are wondering, we had no food outside, or inside our vehicle and never fed the bears. The mother bear would just knock over the "bear-proof" trash container and take the whole can with her up the hillside. I would not advise going outside after dark in this neighborhood because of the presence of a mother bear and cubs, all of whom have become acclimated to human food.

We're happy to hear you liked the house! Black bears and other wildlife are common the area, and we have seen more bear activity this summer than in years past. The Misty Mountain community is installing a different type of bear-proof trash containers this fall. That will help deter the bears from the houses. We will provide clear instructions to guests regarding disposal of garbage.

Very nice unit which was clean and comfortable. A big plus was it’s closeness to the Sapphire Valley club. The big negative was the closeness to the major thoroughfare. There was constant noise from large trucks which ran during daylight hours. We would not stay in this unit again.
Had a great time! Would stay here again. Had an issue with the faucet and someone was there to fix it 30 minutes later. Very clean and convenient to sapphire ski resort. Definitely take advantage of the amenities passes for great discounts on skiing and for access to the rec center.
Enjoyed our time at the property and have a few constructive criticisms. Add more hanging hooks in bathroom areas. Showerhead in the guest bathroom was loud and the spray was uncomfortable. WiFi Internet is absolutely awful. Got to figure out a way to improve WiFi. Fortunately we brought an ethernet cable to plug directly into modem router with us that improved the internet slightly as the WiFi only would have been a disaster for remote work. There was quite a bit of dust clumps under the furniture in various areas, so that is an area for improvement. Wish there would have been a key code emailed in advance so we could go straight to property instead of having to check in at property managers location. Overall had a great experience and would stay there again. It was great having access to Sapphire Valley resort amenities.

We appreciate your feedback. The internet in our mountains can be spotty depending on weather and an increase of population during busier times of the year. Our office is open to guests who may need to work remotely anytime during our business hours. We look forward to welcoming you again!
This is a beautiful spacious home in a quiet small development. Close to Cashiers but also feels remote. The house is well kept and was very clean. We would 100% stay here again.
Only complaints were minor: It would be nice for the house to have small shampoo/conditioners for guest usage. And, it is difficult to find the check-in area (which is remote from the property) at night-time. Directions to this area could be clearer.

Amenities
Although the amenities are listed, please be aware they are NOT onsite, and require you to drive a 1/2 to 3/4 mile. The property is isolated but beautiful. As most reviewers suggest, you are in the woods and will see a bear. We had an issue with brown water in the showers, the night before we left, which the property manager contact, didn’t seem to agree on the gravity of the situation.

Unfortunately, the email about the water wasn't seen until late the night prior to your departure. As soon as it was seen the next morning, a member of our maintenance team was notified and dispatched to the house. We do have someone on call 24/4 for emergencies - Just call the office and it will be redirected. We are happy to hear you thought the house was beautiful, and we hope you enjoyed the weekend at the house.
We experienced the beauty of NC at its finest at this property! Mama Bear and her three baby bears were by almost every night along with deer, birds and cool insects like the Stick Bug! When you come to NC....keep in mind, you are in the Mountains of Sapphire Valley! As a result, WiFi is spiratic at times! Great location to Cashier shops and Ingles; the local grocery store! Lots to do and beautiful trails to some incredible waterfalls! Would definitely stay at this home again!
We loved the location and my husband was speechless seeing how gorgeous it is we tried to stay longer too. Saw mother bear with cubs cruising by as well as deer. Spacious grounds for our dog too.
