Our cottage is one-and-a-half miles from the heart of Highlands, which means you will be as close as you want to fine dining, shopping, other activities or just taking in the sights.

Our home has AC for those occasional warm nights. Most of the time you will want to open the Windows to hear the Soothing Creek and Crisp Air.

Relax in our Two Bedroom, Two full bath cottage with Wood Burning Fireplace. Perfect areas throughout to read while the soothing creek relaxes your mind.

Master bedroom has Comfortable King size bed and private bath.

Guest bedroom has Twin beds, adjacent full bath.

Living room has a sleeper sofa which is a queen size. Single sleeper sofa is located on the sun porch.

Full Kitchen, everything needed for cooking a Great Meal, New Kitchen Appliances, New KitchenAid hand mixer, new Pots & Pans, new Cooking Utensils, Dishes, new regular coffee pot and Keurig Individual Coffee Cup Maker.

Spring Mountain Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the lovely Stoney Creek Cottage! Perfect for a couple or small family. The creek running through the property added extra ambience whether you were indoors or out! We found the location super convenient for driving into town for dining, shopping, hiking, etc.The owners were very responsive and helpful, and we look forward to a return trip in the fall.

Peaceful Mountain Retreat

We had a wonderful week at this home. Beautiful covered deck looking out over the forest. Convenient to Highlands and a number of hiking trails.

Great little find!

This house is very comfortable for 2 up to 4 people. A very cozy real wood burning fireplace takes the chill away and the creek running just outside the window will lull you to sleep in the sun! Just a great place to relax! Extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend!

A beautiful setting in the lovely Highlands area only a short drive to town to many shops & restaurants. Very well stocked kitchen.You feel as though you are the only house around, although there are neighbors nearby, nestled in the woods with streams flowing nearby with rhododendron and mountain laurel everywhere! Not a huge house but very comfy for a family of four although there is a pull out couch for an additional two. Would highly recommend.

Cutest Mountain Home!

We loved our stay - the house was in a great location just a few minutes drive from town and was in excellent condition! We cooked for Thanksgiving and had everything we needed in the kitchen and we had fun with the puzzles and games too. Great host communication as well. We can't wait to go back!

Great Highlands cottage stay

My friend and I recently stayed here for our annual girls hiking trip and we were very pleased with the accommodations. House was as stated, depicted on-line and very well stocked. Easy access to downtown Highlands but in a quiet, secluded location. Hosts were super responsive and helpful with all our questions and needs. Recommend this place for small groups for sure!

Highlands retreat

Property was spotless and met all of our needs. We enjoyed the little creek in the back and my grandchildren claimed the space under the stairs with the beverage fridge as their space.

Very Enjoyable Experience

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in this cabin over the Labor Day holiday. The rental was clean, well previsioned, everything was exactly as advertised, and the location was excellent with regard to proximity from downtown Highlands. I highly recommend this renal to anyone interested in visiting Highlands.

Great Highlands Getaway

Location is ideal to DT Highlands and nearby hiking! The property is surrounded by beautiful hardwoods! The home itself is very clean and has everything needed for a short stay. Appreciate the kitchen set up! King bed is comfortable! Real wood-burning fireplace! Will return for another stay!

Always our Favorite

We have been staying at Stoney Creek Cottage for years, and it just keeps getting better. John and Melissa have updated so many things and the location is wonderful. Our puppy was a year old the first time we brought him, and he’s turning 9, so even he loves it! It’s always clean and lovely. The owners respond quickly and are always helpful. You will not be disappointed!

Christmas Getaway

We have stayed in many VRBO properties but this was by far the cleanest most well appointed house we have stayed in! Comfortable beds, great towels, plenty of seating areas and a wonderful Christmas tree! Kitchen is well stocked and turn key … spices, coffee, sugar etc. no need to pack any. House is only 10 minutes from downtown Highlands for shopping, groceries, and plenty of nice places to eat. We loved how the house was nestled in the forest and pretty views from every window including the creek on the back of the property. My favorite room was the sunroom with the windows and comfortable couches. Thank you John and Melissa!

Great Getaway

This house was cozy and relaxing. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and then some. The location was great, close to town. I was disappointed that I couldn’t walk into town since it was only 1.5 miles away. It would require walking on a main highway with no shoulder which was too dangerous. Check out required us to take our garbage to the dump. It was located half way between Highlands and Cashiers. It was out of our way and added 20-30 minutes to our drive home. We have rented several homes through VRBO and have never been asked to do this.

What an excellent house for my wife and I and our little Frenchie! We appreciated the kitchen having all the staples needed for a weekend getaway. We ate in a few times and it had everything we needed. Such a great location and only 5 minutes to town. Beds were very comfortable and felt like home away from home. Appreciated having home office desk space for working remotely. John and Melissa were great hosts and super responsive. Highly recommend to all!

Perfect Getaway

The cottage was perfect- clean, well decorated, cozy, and private but still in close proximity to downtown. Melissa and John were easy to communicate with and very helpful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
