Mt. Washington Home located conveniently just outside of downtown Pittsburgh.
My home is conveniently located minutes from the beautiful views of Downtown Pittsburgh. A 10-15 Minute Uber away from almost anywhere in the city. The steps are narrow and can be difficult for elderly. It is 2 floors with the entrance just off of the street, a full kitchen, full bath and 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in one and 3 bunks beds in the other. It's perfect for a family, a couple's getaway or a group of friends or colleagues to explore our amazing city. There are TV's in the kitchen, master bedroom and living room, a large island that is the perfect work space for business. And the shower is brand new. There are 2 parking spaces behind the house and plenty of street parking. There is keyless entry using a pin so no need to meet for keys and you can check in or out any time you want within reason. The basement is my apartment with outside access so I may or may not be there at any point but usually stay at my mother's when I have guests.

Great location on Mount Washington! It was nice having a parking spot (there’s room for 2) behind the house. It’s a bit tight getting back there, go slow and you’ll be fine.Host was great with commuting and keeping us updated.
This was a great place that is pet friendly, just a note they don't want pets on furniture which can be really hard to do. This place has the bare minimum and wouldn't recommend bringing everything you might need.
Great place! The host was super responsive and was able to give us tips and advice on how to navigate the city for the game.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
We had a delay in getting the details from Ryan for check-in that created some panic and altered our plans a bit. Watch for the ring video camera on the inside of the front door, which we didn't appreciate. The location of the place is a nice walk to restaurants and a great view of the city. The beds were comfortable.

The model of Ring Camera on my front door mounts via a hole in the door that the wiring and lens allowing occupants to LOOK OUT to see who is at the door pass through. The Camera is 2 parts. The Camera and doorbell on the outside of the door and battery compartment on the inside of the door. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS LOOKING INSIDE OF MY PROPERTY! There are only cameras looking at my front and back doors and porches.
There was an error with the lock app and I was unavailable for less than 20 minutes. There is a key box just in case there is a problem with the electronic lock and my cohost gave her the code within a few minutes.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is located a quick walk from neighborhood restaurants and bars and a quick walk to the overloook where you can see the whole city. Definitely recommend!
The place is in a fun neighborhood close to a stunning overlook of Pittsburgh. It’s clean and comfy enough in terms of furnishings. Check-in was beyond easy. The only problem: coming on the hottest weekend ever(?) and window AC units upstairs were not able to keep up. It was VERY hot in the upstairs when we arrived. It stayed hot most of the night. It cooled by the morning but by mid-morning was starting to heat up again. So, I’m not blaming the place or the description (which fully noted the window units) but this may not be the best spot for stays in the dead of summer.

There are additional fans on the vents in the bedrooms that can be turned on to help cycle the air and I noticed the house AC was never turned down below 70.
Many summer nights, guests use the extra blankets because the AC is actually too cold so I am not sure what the issue was. The window units are usually more than enough
You should have messaged me if you were having trouble.
We had a wonderful weekend. The house was clean and nicely decorated. The shower was roomy with excellent water pressure. Many quality eateries were within walking distance.
The house was clean and comfortable for us and our two dogs. It was nice to have off street parking and a short Uber ride to downtown. Ryan was very accommodating and quick to respond. I would definitely stay there again!
Ryan was wonderful and his home was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the four of us and our two dogs. We are in town for the Pittsburgh Marathon and it was the perfect spot for pre and post race activities.Thank you for everything! We will be back.
The kitchen was well supplied; the bedding was clean; the bathroom has a very nice shower. We were thankful for all the Keurig pods supplied for coffee. If we had wanted to park on the street (which we didn't), we would have had to park a block away and on the sidewalk. There is one, very small, parking spot behind the house. That parking worked fine and we got plenty of exercise climbing the hill to the house. The bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second floor; the stairs are narrow and steep. The owner was very responsive. This rental is not an option for anyone with mobility issues. We believed the neighborhood to be safe. Overall, I feel "neutral" about this rental...nothing to really brag about or criticize.
This was the perfect place for our weekend visit to Pittsburgh! Everything the property owner said about their house was absolutely accurate. I would recommend this property, its owner, and the value to my family, friends, and strangers looking for the ideal place to stay in Pittsburgh. We would 100% stay here again.
The house was clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is great, where we enjoyed sightseeing along the overview of the city as well as the great little restaurants and bars in Shiloh. The hills are a great workout for a morning run. Easy walk to the incline to drop down to go downtown.
My husband and I traveled to Pittsburgh for the weekend. The property is perfect just across the Liberty bridge, it’s super close to downtown while being on the quieter side. The parking space behind the property is super clutch. We loved the short walk to Grandview overlook.
Home was just as advertised and worked for all our needs.
Very convenient location to uber into the city. Host was extremely helpful with an access request that we really appreciated.

OK place
Needed a little work and bathroom was HOT. Plus stairway up to the bedrooms was kind of treacherous. In the end it served our needs though
The home is in a great location to see and explore the city. The walk up to Grandview is quick with overlooks of the city. The house was clean and well kept. Ryan was easy to communicate with while we were there. Parking is a bit tricky due to the number of people parking in the neighborhood to go up to Grandview. We had an issue with the fire/smoke alarms glitching and going off several times which was jarring, but there were no real problems. Would definitely stay here again.

After looking at the manual, it looks like low batteries could cause the false alarms but there were also a significant amount of ciggerette butts in the trash even though I have a strict no smoking policy.
I replaced the batteries in all of the detectors and they have not gone off since.
The place is well located just a block from Mount Washington lookouts. We loved having dedicated parking. The home is located in a safe area and we felt comfortable walking around. The only negative is the upstairs is extremely hot. We slept downstairs on the couches. There is a window air conditioner in the main bedroom but it isn’t efficient enough to cool the bedroom and bathroom.

The central air conditioning was set at 74 where it defaults with no guests. It was never adjusted. When set at 62 it cools most of the house.
The upstairs window units are sized appropriately and people often use the extra blankets even on hot nights because the AC is so cold.
I could have made an adjustment remotely but I can't help if you don't ask.
Had a nice decompression after visiting family in Midland , PA. Also got some great photos.

About the host

I enjoy travelling and I have been to 69 countries and all 7 continents. I always treat the place I am staying as I would my own home and I ask that you do the same. I have had season tickets for the Penguins for 22 years and the Steelers for 6. Both pairs are on the aisle and may be available if you are interested. I also drive Uber and Lyft on the weekends and may be available to give you a discounted ride to some of the hard to reach spots around town such as Falling Water which I highly recommend.
Why they chose this property
I first moved to Mount Washington in 2009 because I loved the views nearby. I soon learned that it is it's own little suburb within the city. It is such a great location! It has everything you might need including bars, restaurants, a bank, grocery store, gym and laundry mat all within walking distance. Bigham Tavern and Nikos Cafe are my 2 favorites.
What makes this property unique
Parking can be quite scarce throughout the city, but I have my own 2 spots conveniently behind the house. It is also just off of the street with just 1 step to get inside. I try to provide things that I myself look for when I am travelling.
