Jay Cabin: private, sleeps 4, pet friendly, 17 acres, short & long term, AC!
Welcome to our Jay Cabin! It is a very private and totally renovated wood cabin on 17 acres and 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and 30 from Lake Placid. We are in a remote setting with stunning views of the valley and the home is surrounded by pine trees off the driveway and in the back. We have spent a great deal of time working on very specific details such as our gorgeous kitchen, Vermont granite counters, half moon tub with gorgeous tiling, beautiful wood pine beams and much more!
Our kitchen is very modern with all the features you will need: Vermont granite counters, a new Whirlpool refrigerator, beautiful heated gray granular flooring, a new gas range/oven, a toaster oven, micro-wave, regular coffee maker, a large wood counter cutting board, a new industrial sink, plenty of cabinet space, 4 bar stools looking in, subway tiles and much more! Yes we have AC and it works well too!
Our living room is very open with high pine wood ceilings and stunning pine wood beams throughout. There is a large TV in the corner, a very comfy sofa and windows galore. While we don't have "formal" bedrooms, we do have a full bed and twin trundle bed off the living room with a privacy curtain. A beautiful wood pine staircase leads up into our loft area. There is a queen bed, sofa, 2 large closets and a wood railing overlooking the living room with a pull curtain for privacy, when needed. You can lay in bed and see the valley below through our large windows.
Our large full bathroom has a very eclectic and modern half moon tub with gorgeous tiling above it and heated tile flooring. The shower is walk in/out with sliding glass doors, a high wood ceiling, a new washer / dryer and very private.

Great views of mountains from property and cabin. The place is well done and is clean. Really nice peaceful spot and easy assess to anything you need or want to do.
My husband and I spent a lovely week here! The house was perfect size, had all the needed amenities and a spectacular view. The location was perfect and close to all of the activities we wanted - hiking and golfing! Will definitely book this house again. Thank you!
Fantastic place in a super quiet country setting. We loved it. The view is great and we spent many hours sitting in the yard relaxing in the day and had a couple fires at night for fun too. Had a bit of a heat wave and the AC was a huge bonus. Rudy's communication is top notch. A all around.
We enjoyed the house location. Wonderful mountain view, sledding hill, and frozen paddles. Just a short drive to ski the Whiteface and to Lake Placid ice skating oval and restaurants. Rudy was great in answering every question I had. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Jay house. Communication with property manager was clear and timely. The view from front of home and loft/upper bedroom is fantastic.
Property set back from road. Not a neighbor to be seen.
We absolutely loved our stay at Jay House. A beautiful updated house with spectacular views of the Jay mountain range. Perfect for a couple who enjoys a quiet getaway.
Rudy was very responsive to all emails leading up to our stay and when we had a glitch (unrelated to the house), he was helpful.
House is well equipped for a family of four and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
Every afternoon we sledded after day of skiing at Whiteface.
Spike had fun too (our dog).
Recommend!
We had a great stay, the place was exactly as advertised, comfortable, great kitchen, and had a beautiful view of the mountains. We wanted a quiet and comfortable getaway from the city, and that's what we got! Close to both cross country and downhill ski areas and outdoor activities in general.
What a fantastic place! Serene, beautiful, clean
and daily visit from a barred owl made this our perfect valentine’s weekend. Rudy the property manager couldn’t have been any better. We extended our stay an extra night and he was so accommodating!! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Our Story Welcome to our Jay cabin! We do hope you enjoy your stay at our home. It was a long journey to have the house the way you see it today. A little bit about ourselves, we are both New Yorkers, one born and bred the other mostly bred but as good as born. As much as we love the city, we fell in love in the great outdoors and have taken every chance we can to enjoy the incredible beauty that the Adirondacks offers. This house was originally built off the grid, no plumbing, heat or electricity. The builder lived in the small sheds you see at the back of the property. Being kind of city people, we needed a bit more creature comfort, flushing toilet and heat that didn’t involve chopping wood. So over a couple of years we added more infrastructure to the house with the completion of the chef’s kitchen in 2019. It took an enormous amount of work as we had to stitch together several trade craft and fill in the in-betweens ourselves. The house is what we would love to live and stay in and combines elements of things we loved in other vacation stays. We look forward to sharing our home with you.
Why they chose this property
We wanted something very private, secluded and in a very natural setting!
