You can see the Chesapeake Bay from the bedroom, living room and the bathroom. This could be the best value on the Chesapeake Bay! WaterFront without the waterfront price!
This quaint Two Bedroom unit has a Queen Bed in the main bedroom and a twin bed in the little bedroom. It is perfect for the budget conscious group who needs a minimum of space, but still wants to be right on the Beach.
You must walk up a full flight of stairs to get there. (please see the pictures) The Beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beach is just out your door and down the steps!
If you love angled ceilings and antique fixtures then you will love our little Rooftop Apartment. It is Rustic and an occasional draft can be felt as the Bay winds blow through the older windows that show a little age!
We have a second bedroom with a twin bed that is colorful and cozy!! Definitely a unique little place for the kids.
The Shower/Bath is another unique angled space that could prove difficult if you are very tall.
All linens are provided, the furniture is Cozy and Comfortable. The unit is colorfully painted, decorated beautifully (In our humble opinion). We have a large Smart TV for your Netflix Binges and plenty of off street parking.
This is a unique unit that was carved out of the attic of our 100 year old Rustic Beach Cottage. It will be a cozy stay - Romantic for the two of you and very cozy if more!
Enjoy the Rustic Nature of this older apartment knowing that the beach is right around the corner. This house sits just behind the dunes - almost on the Beach! This apartment is an older restoration, so I want to temper your expectations. If you are expecting a modern or perfect apartment, this may not fit the bill or be for you. We are proud of our little apartment that was built out of the attic space so many years ago. It is clean and comfortable and with the location and proximity to the beach, it is a great value!
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 115 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. But even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming home.
Please understand that once a reservation has been made, we do not revisit/refund if you have reduced the number of guests or have chosen to not travel with your pet. Quiet hours begin at 9 PM.
This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No loud music or noise.

Repeat guest.. stayed in another unit previously *loft property.Property is very close to the beach, can walk into the sand from the property. Pet friendly is a plus.. lots of doggos on the beach.Property has the basics.. minimal items in unit, so you need to bring quite a bit of things to make your trip complete. Owners have several units, so amenities are shared. Husband and I used the charcoal grill and set by the firepit in the sand. Not sure id stay in this particular unit again, but id be open to other units based on their location.
Wonderful owners with phenomenal communication. They were very patient and super responsive to messages. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Property had everything we needed and more and was steps from the ocean. The beach itself was private and not crowded at all. This was our 2nd time staying and will definitely not be our last.
The listing was super accurate. It is a bit rustic but clean and comfortable. You are here for the beach after all! .Host was very descriptive and described the place perfectly. It is so close to the beach! Less than a minute walk. The property smelled so clean when we first entered. Having a full kitchen was so nice! The host was super quick to respond to messages and was amazing to rent from. The area is quiet and the beach is not crowded at all. The water is so calm most of the time. We are actually looking at coming back in October! Loved it.
We recently stayed here and unfortunately had multiple issues. It would have been extremely helpful to know in advance that the Wi-Fi provided was not actually going to work. The owner didn’t send the new Wi-Fi name and password and neglected to tell my group that Wi-Fi was changed until the night before leaving. This was extremely difficult as I had to reschedule work meetings that required my laptop. There was also no outlet in the second bedroom, leaving the third person in our group unable to charge their phone. The dining room tablecloth had noticeable stains, which was disappointing. Most importantly, my boyfriend slipped and fell in the shower because the tub is extremely slippery, resulting in a bruised elbow and a trip to the doctor. This is a serious safety hazard that should be addressed immediately. While I understand things can happen, the combination of poor communication, lack of basic amenities, cleanliness issues, and unsafe conditions significantly impacted our stay.

This silly guest never inquired about the network or password for the WiFi - only mentioning it in a complaint as she departed. Most of her comments are lies as she seems to be quite challenged mentally. I asked her if we should post a sign that bathtubs and showers are slippery, especially when wet. Or perhaps her group should wear shoes in the tub. Either way, everyone, please be careful as apparently only our bathtub is slippery when wet!

The pictures are not current.
The kitchen was ok…when we walked in the living room the outlet was pushed into the wall…the walls seems liked they were patched up but never painted…the floors have soft spots and uneven in almost every room…garbage behind the radiators that has been there for years….the master bed was shimmed with cut pieces of 2x4’s…huge crack in the corner wall leading to the bathroom…the bathroom sink is just above knee high. The shower …if you’re over 5’2” you will be crouching or squatting if you’re 6’2” like me. The deck steps leading upstairs are set on broken pavers no footings. No fire safety which is alarming since it has three apartments. The ac window units are extremely old and the one in the master bedroom sounds like a bucket of bolts….the property owner told me that the downstairs was getting water from us ..they suggested that we make sure the shower curtain is tuck in the shower…I texted back telling them the curtain was properly tucked in…but the shower needed sealing and some grout. They never responded back so we continued till the end of our week. The house is neglected ..roof shingles missing ..zero landscaping completely overgrown ivy and a couple inches of leaves from last fall. I’ve been in frat houses in better shape….not even close to the worth of the money you pay. First and last visit.
I rarely give bad reviews but I had to make one because I don’t want anybody to experience what we’ve experienced and spend your hard-earned money. I should’ve listened to the bad reviews. I was giving the place the benefit of the doubt because it was nearby the beach which I was looking forward to and it was affordable. We were hoping we finally found a place to go regularly to but it was the opposite. I honestly thought we were just paying certain amount but we reserved the place for one night and paid more. Be aware of the surprise fees like cleaning and others miscellaneous fees.
I was thinking we’ll rest for the night after a long drive and the morning was going to be a half-day getaway from the mundane work-home with my baby and husband. Go to the beach, and breathe the fresh air in the morning. Then the rest of the day was for my interview and drive home feeling refreshed and rested. However, reserving the place ended up as a nightmare. Even after our travel to Norfolk, I'm still dealing with them.
The carpet looked unclean that we won't let the baby go around it, there was peeling paint on the wall, a plastered hole on the wall, and the AC’s insulation was improper, just towels around it, the railing was wobbly. It was not the same in the pictures. The even worse part was the smell of marijuana (we have lung issues and we've had bad experiences with people who use marijuana), we felt unsafe, especially since we arrived in the middle of the night. So we had to leave and stay in a safer and cleaner place because it was getting close to 1 am. So we stayed in another known hotel, they were surprisingly more affordable but we were hoping not to spend that money.
I tried to be amenable but I was accused of lying and even charging me extra today. I don't want to deal with these people anymore. We still ended up getting charged without staying in this place. They can keep the money that was saved for my baby’s first birthday. I hope you use it to buy a new carpet which is about 7 minutes away from your place.
Rustic is okay if it’s clean but this place is not. We live in a 100+-year-old home but it was kept clean. I would request updated images with date moving forward but this is the first and last time I’ll be using Vrbo. Vrbo support is helpful though. However we have better experience with the other platform’s hosts. I'll stick with that and hotels from now on.

What an embarrassing guest - no comprehension of check in times or check out times. She actually thought that she could stay 24 hours from the time she checked in - with no need to pay attention to our rules and such. All of this review is a lie as our cleaners had to wake her up at noon to ask her to leave. And yes, we had to charge her for additional cleaning as she chose to smoke weed inside the home while she was there. She made no complaints, but was very angry that she could not stay until midnight the following evening. All of her comments are based on anger and the inability to comprehend normal business. We are very proud of our little unit on the beach!
the “cottage line” place was a bit dirty but once we complained and got in contact with the owner they quickly moved us to a cleaner home which was greatly appreciated.

Beach cottage
The cottage was okay, very rustic. Not worth the price, though. No working smoke/fire detectors with gas appliances available for use. Make sure you log out of any services on tv when you leave. The only AC is window units and they were very dirty and not well serviced. I honestly don’t know why VRBO would allow listings like this, because it really lowers standards. We use VRBO often and always find better for less.

Beach was beautiful
Such a good swimming place. Very uncrowded beach access at cottage, clean beach. Comfortable cottage, though not as spiffy as similarly priced newer condos I’ve rented. Had major trouble booking this. Travel website would not take my husband’s credit card, despite his large amount of available credit. Discover Card company couldn’t figure out why his credit was declined. As a result, we missed out on the property that we originally wanted, also owned by the same hosts.

Unfortunately we have nothing to do with the booking process or with credit cards. Why would that be part of the review?? We have a wonderful little TreeTop unit right on the beach and it is clean and comfortable!
This was the worst experience I’ve had renting a house and I’ve rented over a dozen location. The place was dirty, had holes in numerous walls, the bathroom sink is hanging off the wall and there is a disgusting used condom and wrapper by the radiator in the master bedroom. I have numerous pics showing how dirty this place is. The only positive thing I can say is that you’re within feet to the beach. Avoid this place at all cost.

It is a shame that some guests will reserve a unit and not read the description. This guest, as she was quite obese, arrived and was surprised that she had to ascend a stairway to get to the unit,. She called and exclaimed that because she was "heavy footed" and had back problems she would be unable to climb the stairs and requested a refund. We do not refund for any of these reasons and her review is simply a temper tantrum. We are proud of our little treetop unit, it is older but clean and comfortable. And she is correct that it is just steps away from the beach!
We were in town for our son Butch Maier’s movie Premiere at the Naro Theatre: “Kill Devil Hills.” The property was an easy drive to the show.
We were delighted that the quaint cottage was right on the beach, which made for beautiful strolls both morning and evening.
We wish there had been an outside spigot to rinse the sand off our feet, but we made do.
The checkin and key access was convenient.
“This has everything we need,” was a comment all three of us echoed.
We knew from the photos that we would be climbing stairs to the second level, and we managed luggage by “bringing along our own bellhop” says the capable 82-year-old man in our group.
Thank you for arranging such beautiful weather for us!
Great place don’t lock your keys out they don’t have a spare

Correct, nor do we answer the phone at midnight. This situation called for a locksmith - We are a family and normally sleep at night. We do not have a "front desk". Please do not lose the key.
If you are looking for modern luxury look elsewhere. BUT if charm and coziness are your goals, this cottage can't be beat! It was super clean, right on the dunes, had lovely views of the Bay from multiple windows, and was simply delightful. We were a little freaked out because a bad review went up right before we arrived but -- thankfully -- it was ridiculously false. The owner's description is 1000% accurate!

Fixer upper
This property is in need of a deep clean and some serious repairs. The description is accurate, except for the ceiling damage, and the under stocked kitchen- 1 glass. Communication with the property manager was fine until we were gone and I had a question about our bill- no response. One thing going for this place is location- the beach is beautiful.
Couldn’t be the proximity to the beach, especially for the price. Property was as described in the listing. We had loud neighbors a couple nights, but I guess it’s a party town

Total Catfish
The pictures of the property are from years gone by. The apartment is sadly in need of repair. Duct tape in shower, shower is a hose(wish I was joking) My family and I live 10 hours from VA so turning around and leaving was not an option and since I paid 1700 plus to stay with 0 refunds offered we were stuck. The ceiling in the bathroom leaks when it rains. The window with view is painted so you can't see. The kitchen has a few bowls and plates.
The property needs to be maintained it is sadly run down. Could be such a cute place if it wasn't so neglected.
Not worth the money I paid at all. You can definitely find a better place for the money.
Really unfortunate about it. Total disappointment.
Pictures need to be updated.
Perfect amount of space for me and my wife to stay for the weekend. The walls are thin so you may hear one noise from the other units but it’s nothing intolerable. The shower is also along a slant in the roof so taller people may see a challenge with that but there’s a handheld shower head to accommodate that need. Overall a very comfortable place to stay.
We had a wonderful time. The house was cute, had everything we needed, but not for tall people as the shower is a little short, but other than that we are very happy we chose this property:)
Place was very cozy and we enjoyed it very much. If your a military family visiting anyone in Little Creek, it's very close. Would stay again if in the area! The shower can be tricky :) but we managed just fine.
We enjoyed our visit. It’s a quaint place with excellent beach access. It’s not touristy or a busy area. The Bold Mariner across the street has great bbq and brews. Pet friendly beach and reactants, too!
The description was honest. It was real windy when we stayed so there was a lot of noise from draft. The water backed up in the tub and the kitchen sink. The plumbing isn’t great so I think you can’t use both at the same time. There was a little mold and ceiling tiles were drooping. We only stayed about 12 hours even though we paid for 2 nights partly because we were homesick and partly because we didn’t want to spend another night in there. But for the most part the Host’s description was very accurate and I can’t fault her for that. I would not stay there again but if someone is looking to stay right on the water for a budget this place is literally on the water!

This is a family endeavor. Kathleen and her husband are working hard to provide a fantastic vacation value. We love our Historic and Rustic little cottage. The location can't be beat as you are about a 20 second walk to the beautiful beach - right out your backdoor.
Why they chose this property
Beach front location, very comfortable pillow top beds, High Speed WiFi, Smart TV, Pet Friendly.
Feel free to smoke outside on the porches only.
What makes this property unique
Beach front location, a bit rustic to be sure thus it may not be for everyone. We are proud to offer our older rustic apartment for you to enjoy a wonderful beach stay!
