The most magical stay on Grenada

We were blown away by the beauty of this place, by Hannah’s communication and guidance, and by the stay in general. We come to Grenada every year and this is by far the best stay in the island. The fresh fruit provided, the beautiful rooms with great AC, and the pool and outside areas were all so amazing. We will happily be back!

The villa as big and lovely as the photos suggest. The air conditioned bedrooms were horrid l gorgeous and a respite from the heat.The location is truly excellent. On a safe (security guard at the entrance to the estate), immaculate peninsula only a short 20 minutes drive from Grand Anse and George Town. I think the location is a lot better than staying in either of those locations too.Hannah who assisted with our stay was phenomenal and couldn't do enough to help.

Beautiful, clean property.

This was a beautiful property with all the amenities you need. We loved the pool and the 2 different decks to have coffee and drinks on with a great view of the ocean. Check in and out was easy. It is a bit of a drive to most places in Grenada but you get to see the island. People are super friendly. Wouldnt recommend driving unless you've driven on this type of island roads before.

Coming Home was Beautiful

I am a native to Grenada and I wanted to share my beautiful country with my friends! Villa Solitaire made this an unforgettable experience. Hannah was easy to communicate with and even helped me to connect with local vendors to surprise my friends with treats. As long as you have either a rental car or personal driver—the drive is perfect. It’s approximately 20 minutes away from Grand Anse or St. George’s without traffic. I am looking forward to booking again.

An incredible host with an incredible property, that's a bit dated. The house itself it quite nice and spacious. However, there is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. That's fine during the day when you can have everything open and enjoy the view with a breeze. At night, unless you want to get eaten by insects, the doors have to be closed and it gets quite stuffy. There are no ceiling fans in the common spaces and makes the space unusable at night.

Stunning Waterfront Home in Paradise

The photos of this house do not even begin to do it justice. The property is rich in woodwork, with exposed beams and attention to detail in the design and build of the home. It is located in the gated community of Westerhall Point. The grounds and property are well-maintained. While there, I used Sheldon for daily transfers and tours around the island, Carla with Busy Bites Catering, and the recommended massage therapists. All were recommendations by Hannah, the host, were terrific and made the trip seamless from start to finish. I travel worldwide, and if you are looking for a home away from home, Villa Solitaire can provide you with that.

This property is beautiful and tropical. There are beautiful palms and flowers all over the property.The home has a view of the bay and not the direct ocean view, but the view is beautiful. It is a nice quiet neighborhood.The pool area is the star of this property. It is a large pool with a great seating area around it. The house is well equipped with tennis racquets, pool floats, beach chairs, and a foot pump for inflatables!The interior of the house is very nice and clean. The kitchen had lot of cookware and utensils.The beds are very firm, but we slept well in them. The room air conditioners worked well. Good water pressure in the showers.The house is not close to a lot of restaurants, so most to them are 20-30 minutes away.I would recommend the RAMS grocery store for stocking up on groceries.

Great House...Made even better by great owners

We vacationed at Villa Solataire in December 2019. We were 2 families of 9 people total. The villa was absolutely lovely and well appointed with everything you could want for a stay. The house is deceptively large so we felt like we had lots of room to spread out and lots of sunny and shady spots to make everyone happy. The pool was great and the tennis court was very fun. We didn't think it was easy to hop in the ocean in front of the house but there are so many nice beaches on Grenada that it didn't matter. But the best part of the house by far was Jenny & Hannah (the owner and manager). We have been renting houses on different islands for 9 years and we have never been taken care of this well. From ensuring we had great dinner reservations (and even ensuring the restaurant served the local dish we wanted to try), to booking an amazing tennis pro for us (ask for Glynn!) to stopping by with rotis for us to taste and more recommendations, both Jenny and Hannah made us feel so welcome and added to the magic of our trip. Combined with the house staff we had a very luxurious experience with good cooking, great cleaning and all of our needs taken care of. You won't be disappointed with this rental!

A Real Find

As a family we travel ~5 times a year (2 ski trips, 1 easter, 1 summer 1 Xmas), and we use VRBO most of the time (although I usually too lazy to write reviews). This time I felt I ad too....I can say with great honesty that this villa, combined with the Island of Grenada is one of our all time highlights. The house had just been renovated and was actually even nicer than the photos look. The location was perfect for our family as it was only 15 mins to Grand Anse, but at the same time only 15 mins to the deserted beaches of the east coast. Jenny (the Doc) was an exceptional host and the 3 housekeepers were out of this world (the breakfast dishes each day were delicious and beautifully presented). The pool was newly renovated and great to use at all times of the day The tennis court was recently painted and in great shape. The house was perfect for our size of 5 people (hus, wife, 3 daughters)....although I am sure it could hold 5 more people with ease. The people in Grenada were the friendliest I have come across outside of Hawaii. Last, the relaxation factor was 10/10. We will be back.....

Exceptional villa. We want to go back!

We booked Solitaire on a friend’s recommendation and I can truly say that it is a fantastic villa. This was the perfect place for our family to relax and unwind. If you’re going to Grenada this is the place to stay! Even before we arrived we felt we were in excellent hands because Susan stayed in close communication with us and made sure everything was taken care of ahead of our arrival. She was able to have the villa stocked for us and even made arrangements for us to have a chef come to the villa one day. The night we arrived we were greeted at the airport by Jenny and escorted to the property. We were blown away by how lovely it was and what nice energy the whole place had. Once we got a tour and settled in, we were served a delicious welcome meal. The kids even jumped in the pool for a swim after dinner. Solitaire was beautiful architecturally with local art on the walls making it feel very cozy despite its size. It was very spacious with tons of room for us to spread out. There was even a library with lots of books and board games! The rooms were all very comfortable. There were many areas to hang out both inside and out. The kitchen was fully equipped (and stocked for us!) and we made use of both dining areas. Our kids loved romping around the huge gardens and even went snorkeling from the beach on property. We gave tennis a shot since there was a court but none of us were any good at it. We still had a blast. At night it was awesome to sit outside on the enormous patios because you could see just about every star in the sky!! There was an amazing beach just a few minutes walk away where we were the only people. Solitaire does have 2 beaches but they are not very big and you do need to wear swim shoes because it is a very natural area with pieces of coral and shells mixed in with the sand. The property owners and the concierge were very helpful and attentive, assisting us in making arrangements for rental cars, doing our grocery shopping for us, and helping us find all the best spots on the island. The housekeepers were really friendly, kept the villa spotless, cooked for us and took great care of us. Grenada is lovely and we plan to go back soon. We drove all over the island but in the end we seemed to spend a lot of time at Solitaire because it was so wonderful all on its own. We’re going to try to book it again for our next trip to Grenada because it’s by far the best experience we’ve had with a villa rental. Lilly

Perfect for work and play

The property is beautiful and just as described. It looks exactly as it does in the listing. Hannah and her team were just a delight to work with. Super responsive and very nice. The property is well maintained and there are fresh flowers in almost every room. The grounds are lovely and there are fresh fruit trees on the property as well as many flowering plants that add to it's beauty. My friends and I worked remote during our stay and there is ample Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house to support video calls etc without any lag.

Stunning Property, Excellent Management = Heavenly Vacation

Frankly, its a bucket list experience: A beautiful home, with and amazing views on an amazing island. Lots of nooks and corners to hide from the world in: Very nice rooms... but the common areas a something from paradise.

Perfect way to begin a two week vacation.

We chose Villa Solitaire to begin our two weeks of exploring Grenada and sailing the islands. The property is absolutely gorgeous. The website pictures do not do it justice. The pool is spacious and the focal point of the house but must still compete with the open air vista from the upper balcony. Hannah, our on property contact was gracious and very helpful. We felt we had found the perfect place to help hit our collective reset button!

Fantastic!

We stayed at this lovely home for 12 days and could not have been more pleased. The house itself is beautifully decorated, the property meticulously landscaped and the views beyond stunning. The location has all conveniences (restaurants, groceries, gas, etc.) easily accessible, and was a great jumping off point to see all parts of the island. Entertaining four adults and four kids (ages 5-13) is difficult, but this house and the location worked for all of us. Highly recommend.

Awsome vacation villa! We will be visiting Grenada again and Villa Solitaire is our destination.

I'm happy to submit a review based on the grand vacation we had at Villa Solitaire. Susan, this was an awesome experience and indeed was way above our expectations. Vacationing with a larger than average sized family with my wife Shan and my four girls (ages 2-12), has never been as easy as this experience in Grenada. You were always easy to contact, very helpful with booking the villa and also coordinating the rental car. Your staff was warm and very welcoming, especially on the evening we arrived. The complimentary dinner was exactly what we needed after our day of travel. Thank you for having the place stocked up with groceries for us as requested. We did check out the place after dinner, including the pantry. Our first morning’s view was from the master bedroom which left us pleasantly stunned as daybreak revealed a magnificent view of the bay, all while still lying in bed! Shan didn’t want to move from her spot, taking in the sea, sky and mountains in the background. I ventured outside, after checking on the girls, to explore the seemingly vast property. I only realized it went all the way down to the sea when walking past the tennis court. I did try some fishing right there at the shoreline and caught a snapper. The grounds are well taken care of and enjoyed the lush garden and abundant fruit trees. The kids had a blast enjoying the garden, pool and the tennis court. My 2 year old was very busy exploring her new environment and we felt very comfortable letting her roam as the housekeeping staff kept the place spotless. The tons of books in the library did provide for interesting reading, even though often times the kids did opt to relax in front of the TV, without a care in the world. At night, Shan and I enjoyed lounging on the patio, enjoying the gentle Caribbean breeze. We did venture out on a few occasions to sample the restaurants nearby but most of the time we were happy to eat in. The food was delicious. My favourites are stewed lambie (conch), oil down and Jenny’s mango cake. Grenada is now on our list of favourites. The island is gorgeous, the people are friendly and Grand Anse beach absolutely has to be one of the world’s best beaches. We also loved visiting Mount Carmel Falls and the Grand Etang volcanic crater lake. Our bigger girls have also demanded another stay at your Villa. This vacation villa truly spelled relaxation, adventure and family time. We will definitely be back. Thanks Susan, Jenny and the rest of the crew!!! Chris
