Everything was as decribed and everyone in our multigenerational family was comfortable during our stay. The surrey bike was so mucj fun to ride to the nearby attractions!
We had the best time! The house was awesome - clean and exactly as advertised- had plenty of room for my family of 3 kids (teens and tween) and my sister and my brother with his wife and two teens. The yard was the best - we grilled and played lawn games. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood - walked to the beach both days. Loved it so much. thank you for a great rental!
Nice, spacious house for our family. We loved the touches in the yard, use of the surrey, walking to a local small beach area and restaurant and use of the kayaks across the street. The owners were very kind and accessible before our trip and during the trip.

Thanks Michelle. We are so happy you enjoyed yourselves and welcome you back!
Great space for us. Everyone was comfortable sleeping. Some had to work and wifi was great. Beach was wonderful as was use of the dock across the street with the paddle boards and kayaks. The kids loved the paddle boards A ladder to get out of the water at the dock would have been nice. Also a railing going in and out of house would be helpful. I'm 80 so maybe It's just me
Perfect for us (2 adults, 2 young children) - but with more than enough bedrooms to have another 1 or 2 families there. Great weekend away on the cape. House is cozy, with everything that you need. We took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards with a quiet river that leads to the beach. We had a great time. Hosts are very responsive, kind and generous. Would stay again

Thank you Albert! I'm so glad you and enjoyed the house and all that the River has to offer!
This rental is a short drive to several nice beaches. We loved having 7 beds in 4 bedrooms and a nice dining area and TV area. Some updating is needed on the main floor to make it brighter and in the kitchen and need better mattresses and A/C filters need changing. Kayaks were fun and surrey bike unique and fun outdoor shower. A good family spot.

We’re so glad that you and your family enjoyed yourselves! The mattresses are newer and I’m sorry if yours didn’t suit you; a mattress’ comfort can be very personal but I do think they are comfortable and had no other complaints. AC filters have been cleaned
Thank you and welcome back!
We went in a girls weekend and the house was perfect. Location was amazing, so close to so many things to do, beach, kayaking, dining, shopping, mini golf, inflatable park ect. House was very clean with plenty of rooms, beds and bathrooms to accommodate us. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook in, big dining table to fit everyone. Lots of comfortable seating. Very nice backyard with fun tiki bar and hammock! Easy communication with questions. We will definitely be back!

Property and hosts were are at. Dawn and Steve are great owners. The home was perfect for our family if 4 plus our in laws to enjoy the beaches, River access, fishing, the Skipper and all of the fun the cape has to offer. Location was perfect as were the Kayaks and paddle boards that owners allowed property to use. House sleeps 12 comfortably. Great size rooms and ACs that did their job of cooling the house down with the East Coast humidity. Backyard was great, washer and dryer came in handy, access to the Parker River. Our family will be back and again Dawn and Steve were great with responding with texts and allowing us to check in a little early and out a little later. Highly recommend this property. Thanks for a great week!

July Vacation
Our family rented this home - we were 7 adults & 2 kids (an almost 3 yr old & a 9 month old). The house is located in a very nice & quiet neighborhood. The house was clean & is very roomy, no one ever felt on top of each other. The upstairs bedrooms are very large, we had a pack & play in one of the rooms & there was still ample room to move around. The kitchen has everything you would need. The outside shower is large & private, very refreshing after a day on the beach. There is a tiki bar out back with a hammock, a bench, & 2 picnic tables. There is so much room inside & out. There are kayaks, paddle board & boat, a surrey bike for your use. There wasn't enough time to enjoy it all!
Most important, the owners, Dawn & Steve, were a pleasure to work with. If we plan a vacation next year, we wouldn't hesitate to rent this home or anything else from Dawn & Steve.

Preview in person before renting
I took this rental without previewing it. This is one of those listings that once you arrive, you immediately get the listing on the computer to see why you thought it would be something different. The house is across the street from the owners main house (river waterfront), and you walk across the street and through their yard to access a dock you share with them. Your rental does not have a summer water view. Maybe peeks in the winter between the river front homes. Pros: 4 good size BR's; small boat/kayak mooring; 1/2 mile walk to local ocean beach; surrey pedal bike is fun. Cons: House is old and dark; living areas are small; Lawn is small and in need of maintenance; owners across the street. Overall: Overpriced if you do not need a boat mooring.

Being an anonymous review, I'm not sure who wrote this in December about a summer rental. I am sorry you were disappointed. This house is exactly as described in the listing; across the street from the River. It is a short distance, about 100 feet ( a 30 second walk) to the River. The reviews posted dating back to 2012 also discuss the lovely River across the street and note the house is as described. If you thought it was direct riverfront, perhaps you didn't read the overview or look at the map, or somehow confused my house with another? No other guest has expressed disappointment to me but enjoy the location. Direct waterfront rental would cost thousands more. This house is about as close as you can get at a fraction of the cost.
We have no "Mooring" as you state but we have actual docks. The docks are not shared and are directly on the River with a nice yard area to swim, enjoy the river and water activities , kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, pedal boating etc. On the River we have two separate sets of 24' foot docks with two separate gangways to walk on to each set of docks. The first set---two 12 foot floating docks--are for the exclusive use of this rental house We do also own the summer home on the River and have owned it for many years before purchasing this large 4BR home across the street that we now rent out. My family utilizes that second separate set of 12' docks for our boat if we come to the cape on the weekend and stay in our summer home on River; we don't need to use the rental homes set of docks and didn't. We don't live on Cape but do stay some weekends. We are accessible if any issue should arise.
Although this rental home is not newly built, it was newly renovated inside and out in 2012 so I am surprised by your comment; other guests posted comments about the newness and roominess inside and out. The yard is well maintained by a professional landscaper weekly.
Front Door and foot jamb were broke when we arrived. Four big black bags of garbage were in yard when we arrived. It was not our garbage Next the TV shut down in the middle of the Olympics'. Host fixed the TV. Next morning. the large flock of Crows spread the garbage all over the yard. Host picked up the garbage, but thenTV broke down again. Next the family was doing a puzzle water began flowing out of the laundry room. My son in law removed the laundry room doors in order to remove the washer and dryer. He removed a large amount of dirt lint from the washer drain with a coat hanger. Then the tv cable broke down for a fourth time. The cable company came and strung a new cable. On friday we were taking showers in preparation for departure and the toilet overflowed all over the bathroom floor. My son in law tried to open the toilet with a plunger and the water started flowing out of the laundry room again. We believe we deserve a rebate. If this is how VBRO does business you have lost a customer. Dr. Powers

I am sorry that you chose to post complaints, I believe unfairly, after you repeatedly told me how much you loved the house and tried to sway me from addressing any issue you raised, and expressed such appreciation and praise each time. You would say, we’re fine, we’re enjoying ourselves so much, no bother. But I insisted on promptly addressing everything and did. On the specifics. We have the trash picked up professionally, bi-weekly. The 50 gallon barrel apparently quickly filled and your family left plastic bags filled with garbage in the yard. You didn’t let me know in advance that the barrel was filled. You called and said birds got into the trash but “no worries I’ll have my grandkids pick it up later” I sent maintenance out, and removed all trash within an hour. For the cable tv, it did unfortunately go out multiple times, but that all happened within that same day. I contacted Comcast to promptly repair. As you know, the problem was that a truck struck the cable line from the pole so it was damaged and replaced. Another day there was a brief power outage in the whole area so all power was briefly interrupted.
You had said to ne, no problem, it’s better for us to read and do puzzles than watch TV anyway, but now complain online. On the washer, you had a large group and did many washes. Midweek you called and reported that after a few loads, you noticed water and your son unclogged something. The washer was working fine before and after your stay and I’m not sure what that was about . Your last night, you also called asking where to find a plunger. You said someone in your group clogged the toilet and you think it overflowed,. Ithe plunger was right in the bath closet, but my husband went there immediately and promptly fixed that as well. The showers work fine, your grandchild perhaps didn’t close the curtain properly, wetting the floor . I am sorry that you chose to publish complaints online and unfairly omit our prompt amelioration and omit all of your good times and wonderful experiences . We promptly and apologetically addressed everything. You were very pleasant. You thanked me., talked about God and how blessed you felt , how appreciative you were and how wonderful everything was. . You commented that I can’t control cable lines, power outages, birds or one clogging a toilet etc. We apologized .for inconveniences and did do our very best. I spent many hours on the phone with you, before and during your stay, helping you with directions, planning what to pack and activities and restaurants, shops. helping you get your devices on WiFi , answering many questions. I’m glad that you loved the house and enjoyed yourselves but am surprised and disheartened by your negative review.
Great time on the Cape with family & friends! Property is well maintained and owner is very responsive. Great property for a diverse group. The Beach was within walking distance and the dock across the street for kayaking was super fun. The neighborhood is quiet and the area has good restaurants and other fun attractions such as Putt-Putt and an Inflatable Park. Everyone in my group enjoyed their stay!
We stayed for 5 days at this house. It’s well furnished and clean. The house itself is dated, but it’s charming. The River activities are awesome, and we spent every day making use of the paddle boards and kayaks. The nearby beaches are nice and not too crowded.
The house itself is older and could use some updates. The main floor is dark and could use either more light or just a coat of bright paint on the dark wood paneled walls. The kitchen is small but functional. I’d suggest bringing all the ingredients you need because, other than actual cookware and utensils, there was pretty much only salt and pepper and aluminum foil. Many other rentals have spices, oils, and some more food storage options.
Overall, the house is nice, clean and spacious. You’re paying for the space and the fantastic location. Don’t come expecting a modern and updated rental, but a clean and functional home base great for an extended family.
The house was very comfortable with plenty of sleeping options and several sitting areas. It was very private and we loved the dock area across the street. The beach was perfect, seemed private rather than public.
This house was in an amazing location. Easy drive to Hyannis. The house itself was very clean, but very dated. Lots of spiders. We didn’t really use anything in the yard. We brought our own corn hole and set it up in the road because there wasn’t a lot of yard space. Also, the outdoor shower was not someplace I’d probably want to rinse off in. Owners were very nice and attentive.

I’m happy to hear that you loved the location! It’s is scenic waterfront community and a short walk or drive to all the hot spots on cape! Im surprised you mentioned spiders! You did message me late, about 10:30pm the night you arrived, texted there were lots of baby spiders on the ceiling in the bathroom but added it’s not an issue for tonight, and we can deal with it tomorrow . At 9:00 am my husband went over to address and you said everything’s all set, that you had killed them all the night prior and everything was absolutely fine now. That was very strange, we do keep the house very clean and we never saw spiders as you described before or since. We figured perhaps a spider egg must’ve just hatched or something but that was definitely an anomaly and certainly not a trait of our home or fair as review.. The yard and outdoor space is also quite expansive. There were 11 in your group (with about 7 vehicles) but still plenty of space in the rear or front yard for gathering, dining, playing games like corn hole (we also have on corn hole set on site that many guests enjoy in the yard) The outdoor shower is also huge and privatized, I’m not clear why you wrote you wouldn’t rinse or shower in it? We received no complaints all week except that one message first night about baby spiders and my husband went over immediately to address but it was already no longer an issue,. There are many amenities to enjoy on site, including our corn hole set, hammock, outdoor shower, picnic table, chess set, surrey limousine bike, the River, dock, kayaks, standup paddle boards, etc It is s a cape house; No fancy marble or granite counters but clean, cozy and comfortable in a wonderful waterfront community with lots of activities and space!
The house was exactly as described. The owners were easy to communicate with and when there was a need to communicate with them, they responded quickly and helpfully. The limo bike and dock were great additions to the stay and added an extra element. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

You and your family were a pleasure as well! Thank you and welcome back!
We stayed in this property for a long weekend for a multi-generational family getaway. The house was very comfortable with plenty of space for our group of seven. The kitchen is well equipped and the yard is lovely. We had an added bonus of watching the bunnies frolic in the yard. Unfortunately, we did not have good weather so did not take advantage of the water toys that come with this property. Our only complaint is that the heat was not working, so the house got quite cold (I am guessing we were the first renters of the season). The owner was very responsive and sent someone right away to address the problem. The only other note is that this property does not come with bed linens or towels, so you either have to bring your own, or order from one of the local companies (which is what we did since we flew in) for an extra cost.

We’re so glad you enjoyed yourselves and sorry again for any inconvenience related servicing the furnace. Thank you and welcome back!
I loved the property and the access to the water toys. The house was comfortable and there was enough space for my entire family. It's often tough finding a place to accommodate three generations. My son and grands rode around the neighborhood on the 6 person bike and that was cool. The only suggestion I would offer is updating the beds on the first floor. They were not very comfortable. We hope to return next year in the summer when we can take full advantage of the water.
