This is a very spacious, modern house while also being cosy and comfortable. The setting is private and feels remote despite being so close to Upper Hutt. Bush surrounds three sides of the property and the outlook is over rugged farmland and river terraces so it's very peaceful. It is obviously set up as a great place to entertain but we also found it perfect for a small family retreat. It had everything we needed with a good helping of luxury!
Not quite what we expected from a 'high end' property
The physical situation of this house is lovely, looking out to native bush and trees with the sound of the river in the distance. The actual house itself is well appointed but we were really disappointed in the state of the kitchen which was not clean and which had an oven with a non-sealing door (which really compromised the Christmas dinner we had advised the owner we were going to be cooking!). For what amounted to close to $1200 a night we didn't expect to have to clean before we cooked.
This property is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I had a gathering to celebrate our wedding and all I can say is wow. Everything was easy, communication, check in etc
I would definitely recommend if you want a dreamy experience.
