Breakaway House: Killington Duplex, Unit A. Hot Tub Close to Resort.

• Pets are considered. A $155 pet fee would apply.

• Please be sure that you have entered the correct number of guests as we may have a per-person per-night surcharge to cover expenses. You can contact us for a custom quote before booking.
• Our minimum rental age is 25.
• The house is a duplex. This listing is for the left unit of the duplex. There may be other guests in the right unit. The back desk is shared space. You may also book both units if you wish.
• We will provide you with access codes for our smart locks to come and go as you please.
• We have some flexibility around our standard check in and check out times depending on other bookings. Guaranteed early check in or late check out may be available for an additional charge.
• Our entire home is non-smoking (e-cigs included). You may only smoke on the outdoor deck. There is a $500 fine for smoking in the house.
• You must e-sign and return our written rental agreement after you complete your booking.
• For your safety and ours, we have a camera on the front of the house. This is not in any of the living areas.
• Quiet hours are from 10pm - 8am.
• Fireworks are not permitted.
• Pets are considered. A $155 pet fee would apply.
• Hot tub setup fee is required to prepare tub for arrival at $195 per stay
• A 15,000 BTU air conditioning unit is installed upstairs. The downstairs is typically cool enough on its own given the Vermont climate.
• We partner with Killington and offer discounted lift tickets for our guests. We also offer discounts on rentals!
• Winter weather is unpredictable. We do not offer weather-related refunds and recommend purchasing travel insurance for any unforeseen events. All wheel drive and winter tires are also recommended.

New Years Trip

We rented the property for a New Years ski trip and couldn’t have been happier with the location and the layout. Plenty of room and exactly as shown and described in the listing. Very communicative and responsive hosts and comfortable/homey spot to call home base while you’re on the mountain. Would highly recommend! Thanks!

Tired property....

They turn around the property so quickly that they don't have time to fix and maintain the property. The washing machine didn't work and there was trash all over the outside of the house including broken glass. The sofas / seating area is so old and tired and very uncomfortable. I don't know when they wash the comforters on the beds but the property needs some love. The staff was very responsive when I reported a bear tipped over the garbage bin and they were also very responsive the time the bear emptied the trash onto the lawn. I just didn't need to arrive to a house that had beer bottles on the balcony and trash all over the exterior of the house.

Thanks for staying with us, Joni. I'm sorry there was some trash outside the home. I know our cleaners take great pride in their work, so it's rare for this to happen. At the moment, we do not have a washing machine so that is not listed as a property amenity when booking as we do not want there to be any confusion.

Great location, nice place, heating an issue

We stayed for 3 nights in early Feb '24. Great location, nice neighborhood & property w/ comfortable furniture. The kitchen was well stock w/ plates/glassware. The place was clean - the kitchen floor could use a mopping. The firewood needs better protection, it's damp & doesn't maintain a burn. The back sliding door doesn't lock - a 2x4 is used instead. The major issue is the radiant floor heating isn't sufficient it takes too long to adjust. We were very uncomfortable & didn't get much sleep due to the heating issues. It's not great skiing on no sleep - it made for a less than enjoyable trip. In order to barely heat the common area, the ground level BDRMs had to be hot. To cool off the BDRMs to sleep, we cracked windows, but woke up freezing. To heat the common area in the AM, we were forced to turn on the electric oven and burners. The heating system is also at times noisy & located near the BDRMs. We slept w/ the door closed & could still hear it. One night it got really loud & woke us up. The heating system errored out one day & came home to a cool unit. The property management came to reset it. It took a few hours to get comfortable. They did leave us a space heater which was nice & it helped a bit. They did offer to send a plumber on our last night, but we didn’t want to deal w/ the disruption. The owners offered a very small refund, but asked for more & ever heard back about that matter. 1 of the 2 showers also never got above lukewarm.
