What a great spot. Well maintained and super pet friendly. You are less than a mile from Pico and 15 minutes to teh K1 lodge at Killington. If you hike htere are moderate trails to Pico and Killkington peaks within 10 minutes. Host was great to work with.

Great dog-friendly place!
We had a great time at the house. Beds and furniture were comfortable, baths and kitchen were nicely updated, kitchen was well stocked for cooking nice meals, and the free wood for the firepit and wood stove was much appreciated. And they also provided dog bowls, games, slippers, and throws for use. And a welcome packet with maple syrup. The only issue was first night the wood stove smoked up the house- we called the contact and she had someone come out the next day to clean out the chimney, then it was perfect. So if the wood stove is smoky, and flue is open, it means they need to clean it out. The heaters in rooms and baths worked well too. A very comfortable and nice house. Will stay again!

Overall, the house was perfect for us! Great location. Beautiful inside and out. The place was very cold when we arrived as there was no heat on, so I recommend bringing slippers as the floors were cold. Took a few days to fully warm up.
The house was clean, the furniture was nice, and the finishes were new.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Check-in
The house is well stocked and a good set up for 2 families to stay and it is close to the mountain. We were disappointed that the cleaners were in the house until about 30 minutes after our check in time. Also, the fireplace was so smoky we could not use it. We followed the instructions in the book with no success.
Was able to bring my two dogs and it was super convenient for them. Space for them to go out and the house was equipped for dogs. Overall clean space and recently updated.
Beautiful property that looks exactly as advertised. Quiet area, but still close to Killington amenities and not far from Rutland, which has commercial shops (Starbucks, McDonalds, Walmart, etc). Other houses are visible on the street amongst the trees, but we never heard or saw anyone. My family of 7 (2 grandparents, 2 kids, my spouse, me, and a dog) had plenty of room to spread out and relax. Bedrooms were all good size and had plenty of storage. We enjoyed grilling and making s’mores around the fire pit. We would absolutely stay here again. We only had two issues. One, WIFI kept going in and out. We frequently had to restart the router. A couple of us had to do some work online in the mornings and evenings, so that added a bit of a challenge. Two, we weren’t able to get the air conditioners working despite following the directions left for us at the house. Following the same directions, though, heat ran. We did not contact the host about either issue during our stay as we were ultimately able to manage.

Response from VrboOwner on 18 Oct 2025
From the owner: "I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and found the home comfortable and relaxing. I appreciate you sharing your feedback about the Wi-Fi and air conditioning. While we haven’t experienced issues with connectivity before, we’re replacing the router to ensure an even more reliable signal moving forward. We’ll also be testing the AC system to confirm everything is functioning properly. Thank you again for your kind words, and I’d be happy to welcome you all back anytime."

Nice place, nonexistent local support
Over all the house is very nice and in a great location. Allowing dogs is a big plus. The neighborhood is quite and has practically no traffic. The house was very clean and well equipped with cookware and appliances however, you could smell smoke in the house the minute you enter. The wood burning stove was not much use, hard to light, and no matter what you do and I have two wood burning appliances so know what I'm doing, you can't prevent smoke from escaping the appliance. The beds are reasonably comfortable, there is plenty of hot water and the tap water is very good (doesn't seem hard and has no taste/smell). I didn't use the TV other than to see how it worked. The picture was average at best and sounded like a couple of tin cans attached to strings. My big issue was a lack of response from the local contact, a person that is supposed to provide support (answer questions, help with problems or emergencies) during your stay. I got no response from the listed e-mail or phone #. In my opinion this is completely unacceptable. A call to the Evolve office was answered in a reasonable amount of time and that person could not get a response from the local contact as well. Although the Evolve staff member I talked to was very polite and helpful, I doubt we will rent a unit from Evolve again. Otherwise we would stay at this location again, the pluses outweigh the minor issues.
