So much room, great for socializing, but yet big enough to grab a few minutes of quite away from the group. We walked several times up to the Washington Street Mall. So close to everything that we wanted to do. We would absolutely stay here again!! Homestead Realtors were great to work with.
This house was perfect for our large family gathering for a beach wedding. There were plenty of comfortable sleeping options, lots of room for dinners, brunch and game night, not to mention a living space large enough for the gang to watch football! The porch was relaxing with its swing and lovely rocking chairs overlooking a lush garden. The historical details nestled among the modern refurbishments were outstanding. The kitchen and dining area was amazing and a pleasure to use. The air conditioning was quite good considering how hot a weekend we had! Overall, this is a wonderful property on which to stay and we’ve already begun telling our friends about it!
The house is just a gorgeous in person as it is in the photos! And the historic momentos really added to the experience. There were 11 of us and the house more than accommodated. It was also within walking distance to all the shops and bars! Our only concern were the linens, which we rented with the house. Some just didnt fit the beds, which when youre making 11 beds, is quite annoying. Nonetheless, we would absolutely stay here again, just bring your own sheets and blankets.
The house is beautiful, even better than the pictures. So much charm and character. Very well renovated with an eye to keeping the integrity of the original architecture. The location is ideal, close to town, restaurants, shopping, the beach, parks, everything. The rooms are nice, the beds themselves comfortable. The porch and decorations are fabulous. Loved sitting rocking on the porch watching people stroll by. Easy walking distance to The Washington Inn - best Espresso Martini I’ve ever had.
A few things need improvement, though overall they are small in comparison to the house itself, but unless someone notes it, it won’t get any better for the next renters, right?
1) You have to rent sheets and linens. Some kind of hotel tax law thing. It wouldn’t be a big deal if the sheets that the rentals agency provides would actually fit the bed and didn’t sound and feel like paper bags. Constantly having the sheets pulling off the corners on multiple beds was annoying and uncomfortable. So, my suggestion is don’t rent the sheets from Homestead.
The toaster doesn’t work. The springs are gone and the toast has to be dug or shaken out, and is typically half burnt and half uncooked.
The cleaners leave something to be desired. The house was surface clean and the bathrooms were cleaned well. However, the
Dishwasher was full of dishes when we arrived. Also, it didn’t appear that anyone had really cleaned the wood floors in a few weeks.
We enjoyed everything about our stay in the Judson Bennett House. It's a beautiful, updated home with plenty of space and everything we needed to have a wonderful week. Hope to be back next summer! Thanks to Homestead Realty for all of their advice and assistance.
Incredibly renovated home with tons of authentic antique charm. We had a lovely stay and would gladly visit again. Thank you making this weekend so memorable.
Booked this for a girls weekend and it was perfect! The house is so charming and beautiful. There is so much space for everyone and the beds were super cozy! Would definitely book again in the future!
This house offers everything needed for a large family. More than enough space to be together and also spread out to have some privacy. The property owners did a wonderful job updating while maintaining historical elements and charm. Perfect location in a quiet and beautiful area of Cape May. Great for a beach week or Christmas!
