This house was fantastic! Our family of 6, 2 adults and 4 teenagers had more than enough room. It’s not easy finding properties that can comfortably accommodate all of us at a reasonable price, this one was perfect. Tons of space and amazing wraparound deck/porch to add to the overall living space. Everything was very clean. The location is good too, short drive to every thing you can imagine. It was comforting knowing that the property caretaker lives down stairs, but we never heard or saw them at all. We would highly recommend staying there.
This home felt like home even though we only stayed two nights. It just exuded that Aloha spirit! The surrounding neighborhood was nice, and we felt very safe. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it for anyone staying in the Kona area!
We had an amazing stay at this house! We loved the spacious outdoor sitting areas that provided the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The bedrooms were large and comfortable, making it easy for everyone to feel at home. Love that it had the option of a shower chair and grab bar—such a great feature for older guests. This place truly helped make our visit to the Big Island memorable, and we can’t wait to come back!
This is a nice property, parking left a little to be desired. We prefer to stay at properties where manager does not live in basement, we aren’t noisy, we’d don’t drink alcoholic beverages but there are 6 of us and we make as much noise as a normal family of this size. We do a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well furnished with necessities. We would rent this again for a short stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
Great property to rent especially with little ones. Able to communicate with directly with property owner and quick response. Thank you for sharing your home with us and allowing us to extend our check out time with our late flight! Definitely accommodating and great neighborhood to stay at!
Decent place to hang out. Had a great time on the lanai. Yard needs some maintenance. The dining room, bedroom, and kitchen lights were not working the entire stay despite repeated texts to the property manager to get it fixed.
I traveled with my sister and our significant others along with our dad. We had three wonderful bedrooms with AC units and fans. The house was clean and had loads of windows and screens to allow the evening winds to blow through the house. The evening and morning views over the ocean are wonderful. Highly recommend having a home cooked dinner and watching the sun set from the lanai!
We rented this home as our daughter participated in the Kona Ironman. Very roomy home, loved the deck. Little ants in the bathroom but we figured it’s probably common for staying on this island.
We had a blast staying at the property, which is a 3-5 minute drive from anything and everything we wanted to see in Kona. I don’t think the pictures of the view do it justice. They’re incredible. We watched the sunset every night. The house is really quite big and there is plenty of space to spread out. The AC units work really well, if you choose to use them (a little loud like all AC units - so we used the fans and it was plenty cool for us).We had one small issue upon check-in and the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
This home was in a great central location to get to lots of different activities. We enjoyed the ease of having grocery and food delivery close by. I would have appreciated more of the personal touches and extra items for use like trash bags, towels, etc. Air conditioning was really nice to have in the bedrooms for the hot evenings. Comfortable and spacious, but a little annoying to only have on the street parking.
The house is just like the pictures. A very lovely and comfortable space. Yes, the lanai is amazing!! Yes, you can see the water and some gorgeous sunsets!! We even got to meet the owner and the caretaker, both extremely welcoming and helpful!!
There's a small closet outside on the deck filled with masks, goggles, booties, fins that made our visit so enjoyable. And a nice size igloo cooler (and ice packs in the fridge!).
A quick note for all the cooks... if you plan to cook something more than noodles, it's an electric stove with rental-grade pots/pans, spatulas, etc. There are lots of kitchen items available, which is great, it's just that they just take some finesse and luck to cook well with given the uneven surfaces etc. Also, depending on the time of day, the kitchen can get really smoking hot. A sun shade for the south window would help out a lot.
Enjoy your stay. :) Mahalo to the Holualoa team!!
The house is great! In particular, the shared living spaces are really lovely. Comfortable beds! Great snorkel gear. Amazing lanai and sunset views!!! The main room is huge. It could easily handle a slumber party of 10 kids or more!!!
Yes, Hawaii has bugs. Yes, Hawaii homes do not routinely have central air. No, it is not a deal breaker. (Pro tip, you can maximize the E-W breeze and cool off the house by leaving the front door open.)
Check in was really easy. The owner and caretaker were both LOVELY people. Enjoy!
The location of this rental was fantastic - it was a short drive to just about anywhere in the Kona region, in a great neighborhood. We loved the lanai area and spent as much time as possible there. The inside common areas are NOT air conditioned - it got unbearably warm during the day, even with all the windows open and fans operating. If you plan to be out and about every day, this won’t be a problem but we stayed around the house a couple of days and found ourselves sweating. The bedroom AC units also couldn’t keep up during the daytime. Several other reviews mentioned the bugs - there were an abundance of bugs within the house, including ants in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The entire house could use a bit of freshening up. But the location was fantastic if you are looking to adventure around Kona.
Pros: great proximity to Kona attractions. Roomy and comfortable. Large lanai gives ocean view (obstructed by houses and a mile distant). Weather quite comfortable and don’t need A/C. Lots of towels, beach equipment, kitchenware, condiments. A symphony of wildlife sounds 24/7.
Cons: Furnishings, kitchenware and appliances are dated and worn (Not up to usual standard in this price range.) Quite noisy all night from Queen K Hwy and neighbors. On street parking only because driveway and garage used by owner as a parking lot. Neighboring houses are almost on top of you, little privacy.
My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed our stay. The house was roomy with a very large master bedroom as well as a large guest bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped and roomy. We really enjoyed the covered deck and walkways and spent many hours outside taking in the ocean view. All in all, a wonderful house to vacation at.
