Built c. 1902, and containing 2 original walk-in vaults, the Bank Haus has been lovingly restored to its former glory.

Tin ceilings, hardwood floors, and a brand new oversized main level handicapped accessible master bathroom are only a few of the stunning features of the Bank Haus.

Bring your friends for a wine country getaway, ride the Katy Trail, or celebrate a wedding at one of the nearby wedding venues.

Located on the Katy Trail in Marthasville, Missouri, the Bank Haus is in Missouri wine country and less than an hour from St. Louis.

We have nearby bike shuttles and rentals, the best pizza in the county is steps from the door, and wineries are a short bike ride down the Katy Trail (or a 2 minute drive down the road).

USA Today Travel thinks we're pretty cool as well - The Bank Haus was featured as one of the coolest Airbnbs in the United States!

THE SPACE

This listing is for only the Main Level of the Bank Haus. It sleeps a total of 4 people and has 1 bedroom, 1-1/2 bathrooms, and an open living, dining, and kitchen area, as well as a washer/dryer in a vault.

The Bank Haus is dog friendly for pre-approved dogs only.

For large groups, reserve the entire 2 story Bank Haus or even add the Katy Haus next door.

MAIN LEVEL

The living area on the main level is an open floor plan showcasing the tin ceilings and hardwood floors.

The great room has a luxury king size sleeper sofa and a 50 inch 4K TV and DVD player. The dining area has an 8 foot dining table that seats 10 people when pulled out from the window. We are 99.9% sure the table once stood in the United States Post Office.

The full kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals, including place settings, pots and pans, wine glasses, and both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker.

The main level bedroom has a stunning king size canopy bed with crisp white linens from The Distinguished Guest.

The full bathroom is handicapped accessible with grab bars, a shower seat, and a low profile shower.

The smaller vault is now a beauty bar, complete with mirrors and plenty of outlets for curling irons and blow dryers for getting ready for a wedding or a day at the local wineries.

The main level also has a small half bathroom with an antique toilet and sink.

Please note that the Main Level of the Bank Haus is only available within 45 days of arrival when the whole Bank Haus is not already booked.

SECOND LEVEL

The current listing you are looking at is for only the Main Level of the Bank Haus. The second level of the Bank Haus is referred to as the MKT level and is available with a reservation of the whole building.

OUTDOOR SPACE

Our backyard is completely fenced with a privacy fence and includes a fire pit, Adirondack chairs, twinkle lights and a private hot tub.

We also have a shed for your bikes if you'd like to store them there (shared with the Katy Haus next door).

WINERIES

Lake Creek Winery is only 2 miles down the road. Blumenhoff Winery in Dutzow is 6 miles by bike, and Augusta Brew Haus is 13 miles by bike.

🐶 Pre-approved dogs only, dog rate is $25 per night per dog plus taxes.

💳 Credit card must be on file in case of damages. We will send you an email to authorize a $1 hold after your booking is confirmed. This hold begins 3 days before your arrival and is released 3 days after departure if there is no damage, no excessive cleaning needed, and no house rules are broken.

🚗 Drivers license will be required with our signed guest agreement after you book, along with a selfie holding your photo ID

🆔 We will perform a Guest ID verification securely through our payment processor after you book. The main purpose is to make sure no one has stolen your credit card and used it without your permission.

The perfect historic stay!

The Bank Haus was a perfect stay! There's plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the historic building. The bed and pull-out sofa were very comfortable. Everything was super clean, too. If you get the chance, book this stay!

Wonderful weekend getaway

The Bank Haus main level house has a ton of character and was a great setup. The location was great for visiting our favorite wineries in the area. It was nice that there are two restaurants just a short walk up the street. Also, across the street is the Katy trail and my wife and I enjoyed walking on the trail each morning.

Property was very unique as in historic bank building - while keeping the historic features, it had been renovated to a very comfortable, spacious lodging. While we were only there two nights and ate all meals out, it had very nice kitchen & dining area. Quiet, laid-back small town made for relaxing, stress-free visit. My husband and I enjoyed this unique home . There is so much character including the old bank vault . We spent the afternoon at Lake Creek Winery and enjoyed the hot tub in the private backyard in the evening. We highly recommend this for a quiet getaway!

Great Birthday Gift

This was a getaway time to celebrate a 77th birthday. The goal was to go somewhere and stay someplace new for both of us.we found it, thanks to this remodeled bank we cashed in tons of fun memories. This is definitely a 5 Star Location for a couple, a family, or a group.

Short Stay from Chicago

Traveling with family dog. Enclosed fence helps tremendously with our four legged family members. Off leash dog park just 15min away across the Missouri River. Katy trail access was a nice surprise. Loved the off the path unique stay at the bank! Thank you!

Unique Stay!

We enjoyed our unique stay at the Bak Haus Main Level so much we extended for an extra night. Space is spotless and had everything we needed, including laundry facilities. Host gifts of wine and coffee were consumed and appreciated! Perfect location to the Katy Trail which was our reason for staying in Marthasville. Trail is right across the street! Maverick's Diner for breakfast is recommended, as well Blumenhof Winery in Dutzow east off the bike trail (walk up path). Hosts were proactive in notifying us of some work being done by utility workers {which did not interfere with stay).

Another great stay in Marthasville!

This was our 4th time staying in Marthasville and first time at the Bank Haus. My husband and I enjoy staying in this area. We normally stay next door, but it wasn't available this trip. The Bank Haus was great as well. We enjoyed the history and everything is top notch. We biked the Katy Trial in the mornings and checked out wineries in the area. There are many to choose from! We ventured over to New Haven and checked out the little town and had vodka/whiskey tasting at Pinckney Bend. Also had a great lunch at Lang A Tang Cafe. Philly's Pizza is always a must down the street from the Haus. We found a new favorite dinner spot in Washington MO - Dutch Tavern.

Bank Haus stay

The property is very lovely and unique. The history of the house is apparent when you walk in. My only complaint would be the living room furniture is not comfortable. However, the rest of the amenities more than make up for it. The hot tub is a little small (two of us filled it up) but it served its purpose of helping us relax. Extremely helpful and friendly hosts who answered my questions very timely.

A fun place to stay

We enjoyed spending the night at the President's office. The owners have done a nice job rehabbing the old bank. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. Having coffee there was a nice touch. There were plenty of towels and the shower is nice. It was a great overnight stop after riding 50 miles on the Katy that day. I'll stay here again if I ever need to spend the night in Marthasville.

Everything we needed and more!

My daughter and I were looking for a quick getaway, somewhere we could relax, walk the Katy Trail and bring our little dog. Not only was the Bank Haus a fun place to stay with bits of history, but was also comfortable and we felt safe. Dog treats and dog bowls were included and a little backyard area as well. While the trail was right across the street, we also took the quick dive to Washington where we found a dog friendly coffee spot (Scudder & Co Coffee), and also rented and rode scooters along the Missouri River path, enjoyed the nearby candy shop and an outdoor patio for dinner. The house owner was very responsive and friendly I highly recommend this place!

Presidents Office in the Bank Haus

Yesterday I left St. Louis for an impromptu bike ride as far as I could down the Katy Trail. I made it to Marthasville before needing to rest for the night. I didn’t have reservations because I wasn’t sure where my legs were going to take me. The owners were very kind and quickly made the space available to me. The Presidents office is very unique. It has a blend of vintage bank remnants like vault doors and an old pull to flush toilet, but the kitchen, living and second bathroom were modern and very nice. Appreciate the soaps, shampoo, and toothpaste available to guests. There was even a bottle of wine and a small bag of coffee to welcome me. Nice touch after a long ride. I will definitely stay here again on my way through. PS: the town itself is very small. A little over 1300 people. There’s not a lot to do here but there is a pizza place and convenience store just a few steps away. I didn’t venture out though. I was comfortable staying in to prepare for my ride in the morning.

Quaint getaway… despite only 30 min away

We stayed at the Martha’s ville bank for our Anniversary get away . Great kitchen, roomy , well stocked w/ cooking accommodations . The Katy trail was perfectly located just outside the “ bank” so we biked , walked the trail . We were able to attend ( walked to the park) the summer concert in the park - got a great feel for the fun loving townsfolk - SO fun toe tapping and even dancing to the great music. The only downside is the 10 am check out time . We felt like we were rushed the morning of our departure . Otherwise, we definitely would recommend these great accommodations- also , thank you for the tasty wine .
