Grand retreat Breck
We had a lovely stay at this property. Perfect location close to town. Plenty of bedrooms and everyone was quite comfortable. We will definitely be back!
I always look to stay south of town when we are booking lodging for work in Breckenridge. This property delivered all the things I look for:
1) Comfy
2) Quiet
3) Ample Parking
4) A "Home" away from Home.
Thanks for having us!
This home is incredibly spacious and it’s perfect for a large family trip. Just 5 minutes from downtown Breck. The huge hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing. Fully stocked large kitchen. Grab some firewood for the large fireplace in the living room. Would stay here again!!
We had a wonderful stay. There was room for all and we could definitely spread out.Loved all the kitchen space and the two dinning tables. We used one for puzzles & games and one for family eating. There were a few steps so make sure all can do them although there are two bedrooms on the main floor so elderly wouldn’t have to do many stairs. Nice home!!’
THE HOUSE WAS WHAT IT WAS DESCIBED AS HOWEVER IT WAS JUST OKAY NOTHING SPECIAL. THE HOUSE IS A LITTLE DATED AND NEEDS SOME REPAIRS BUT FOR THE PRICE THE HOUSE WAS OKAY.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 Jan 2025
From the owner: "Hi Sean, thanks for your feedback. The listing features professional photos to provide an accurate view of the home’s character, helping guests decide if it’s the right fit before booking. I’m always looking for ways to elevate the property and ensure it’s in top working order. If you can provide more details about the repairs you mentioned, that would be helpful. I’ll continue to inspect the home for opportunities to improve and truly appreciate your input."
Although this home is definitely an older style, it worked well for our group. We loved the hot tub and large open living room. Kitchen could use some updates but we didn’t cook more than breakfast. Loved that every room had an extra fan. Sky lights in some of the bedrooms kept us from sleeping late but wasn’t a problem. Good price for the size.

Good location-poor management
The location was great and the house fit our group. Had games and a ping pong table which were fun. However, when we arrived, the home had not been cleaned. Garbage smelled like diapers, beds had dirty sheets. There was broken glass on the grill, beer cans by the hot tub, and the garbage disposal was broken and the sink had been back up from the previous stay.Would consider staying again if logistical issues for cleaning were fixed.

From the owner:
"Hi Patrick, we'd like to give you our sincere apologies. This was an admin error on our part. A last-minute reservation was booked just a few days before yours, and our cleaning crew's calendar was not sufficiently updated to ensure there was a cleaning after their stay. We are more than happy to refund you the cleaning fee for your reservation. Thank you for your other kind words and understanding."
Extremely affordable for the location but you get what you pay for
I’m sure this house was a beauty back in the day but it’s seen some rough use with little updates. Only 2 windows in the house had screens, and very few windows even worked, a rough fact considering no AC and a hope for some bug free cool mountain air. The patio had a decent sized hole that had been covered up with a tile. The kitchen wasn’t super well equipped but not surprising considering the price, the stove only had a few functioning burners. All that aside, the beds and couch were comfortable, the dining room table worked great for a large group and the area was unbeatably beautiful. This house is a great price considering the cost of similarly sized homes in the area and worked well for our group. No rental house is going to be perfect, if the windows worked and had screens I’d have happily rated this house 5s across the board.
Overall, the house was clean and well cared for. Beds and pillows were comfortable, as were the couches. The layout was definitely unique but worked well as we stayed with close friends and family. They have done some updates that give an older house a nice facelift, while leaving the rustic charm intact. The kitchen has a lot of dishes and instruments and the house is well-equipped with games. The only drawbacks for us were that the internet is on the slow side (had a few remote workers in the group) and there were less chairs than I counted in the picture (my bad for not asking). I would stay at this place again in a heartbeat. You really feel like you are in nature without being far from the amenities of Breckenridge. I absolutely adored the windows in the living room and fireplace and loved the well-appointed bathrooms, and a kitchen that can accommodate 14.

Beautiful home for families!
Our stay was wonderful! We were with our kids and grandkids and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and the beds and bedding were comfortable (hotel quality). There has been remodeling that added a bedroom and a bathroom-the extra bath was especially appreciated. The setting was gorgeous--we had fresh snow and it was like a winter wonderland. We were close to town but also in a quiet, residential area. Access was great with AWD and the driveway was plowed quickly. We would definitely stay again.
