Quaint Northport cabin with a short walking distance to village.

Prime summer, three-night minimum.

This quaint cabin is just outside the charming village of Northport. Cedar Post is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin and welcomes up to 4 guests. (Best for two singles or a couple or a couple with a small child.)

The cabin features a kitchen and main living area combo with a kitchenette with refrigerator and stove. The living room has a futon for an extra sleeping area. The bedroom has one queen bed. There is cable, but no internet is provided. No air conditioning. No pets are not allowed.

Outside, enjoy a gas grill and picnic table for outdoor dining. Don't feel like cooking? There are some great places to dine or carry out right in Northport. Enjoy the marina and beach while you are there. In summer and fall, enjoy the local farmers market. There is a grocery store in town, too. Make Northport your next vacation destination.

Great Spot in Northport

Had a great time at our small cottage in Northport. Short walk or bike ride to downtown. Host was approachable and helpful. This property is managed by a separate company so there's some additional steps when booking, but it is worth it. Thanks again!

Carpenter Ants

The property was cute and clean, though a but musty smelling. The main problem we had was carpenter ants all over. I understand bugs in the summer are common, but these ants could be damaging to the property and there were a lot of them. Also, the directions said to place bagged garbage in a shared green dumpster that we could not locate. The location was great, the decore was cute and everything was very clean otherwise.

Just what we were looking for

We rented this little cabin over memorial weekend before summer crowds. It worked for us as we spent very little time at the property and instead took advantage of hiking trails , wineries and dining. The booking process was a little different as this is a second party rental and you have to go through their site and Esign several documents after your booking is accepted, not a big deal.

It was a very nice tiny cabin, very clean. I did have to call management and let them know that the tv would not turn on. There also was no trash bin, nothing was where they said it was. Very nice people on the phone.

Cozy Cottage

Great accommodation for a party of one or two! We didn't spend much time in the cottage because we were enjoying everything the area has to offer. I did not realize the cottage did not offer AC. This should be specifically stated in property description. Also, the cottage is just a few feet from a busy road which is surprisingly noisy throughout the night with large trucks. Other than that, the cottage was perfect! It had everything we needed, was very clean, and felt safe. We would stay here again.

Cozy Cottage

Enjoyed our stay. It is a very convenient location. Enjoyed the deck. Very comfortable and clean. I brought my own outdoor folding chairs. For my next stay I would bring: Box fan, cottage gets very hot. Outside tablecloth for the picnic table. The Window in the bedroom is in need of repair. It opens and the falls out of the frame. A note informing renters that the window doesn’t work properly would have been nice.. Overall I loved it and will rent again.

Need to solidly emphasize that this is NOT handicapped accessible! And a fan in the bedroom does NOT substitute for air conditioning. Our clothes were very damp from the humidity, and stayed damp packed in suitcases. A very disappointing stay. There was no check in process or communication with property manager.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were in Northport for a few days and stayed in this was clean, but very small. It could use some work, particularly the shower. It was extremely musty, but it cleared out after opening the windows. It was noisy as it's right on the main road, but thankfully, at night it was quiet. It says it sleeps 4 and it does have a futon, but it would be a very tight squeeze unless the 2 extra people were tiny kids. It's close to town and I walked to the Bohemian Cafe in the morning for breakfast. It's such a cute little town and we had a wonderful time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was excellent - within driving distance of other beautiful scenic areas in addition to Northport. The cabin was clean, well-stocked, comfortable and ready for immediate occupancy on my arrival. My overall experience here was great. There were 3 minor issues to bring to your attention. (1)There was a problem with large black ants throughout the cabin interior. (2) I appreciated the well stocked kitchen utensils, including a microwave. However, the dishes provided were not intended for microwave use. (3) The directions for the dumpster location were not clear (to me). The “paved road” in the instructions is marked with a “Private Drive” sign and the dumpster was not visible as it was placed to the side in the gravel circle at the end of this drive. I did manage to locate it eventually. But as noted, these were minor issues. Overall it was an excellent vacation adventure.

Not what we expected, disappointing

It was a very cute cozy cabin. It had all the basic necessities including oven, microwave, refrigerator which was nice but the cleanliness of the house was below average. Dust could be seen on the walls, the bathroom mirror had not been cleaned. There was splatter of some kind on the bathroom wall just above the mirror. The dish rack once we pulled it out from under the kitchen counter was gross. The heater when it turned on rattled very loudly. It sounded like the fan was broken and hitting metal with every turn. So throughout the night it was difficult to sleep. There were many strict guidelines and rules, so with how strict they were you’d think it would have been a better experience overall. Super bummed we didn’t have the best experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was a typical old cabin. The kitchen was equipped with a fairly large refrigerator with a large freezer that worked well. Needs a new coffee pot! It worked, but took a 1/2 hour. The bathroom had a standing shower and working toilet. Hair dryer under the sink, LOT of mold under the bathroom sink and a little in the shower. Other than that, pretty clean. The “couch” in the living room folded down to sleep two. One side with a “divot” according to the person sleeping there. The bedroom had a soft mattress, comfortable. Lots of extra pillows and blankets, towels, and wash cloths. Big ants coming to the ant trap on the kitchen windowsill. (typical) Didn’t see any other bugs. Nice picnic table outside to eat if more than two people.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We walked into the Cedar Post in Northport and after 5 minutes made a hasty exit never to stay. Pictures are deceiving: the place was teeny tiny and hardly had room for three people let alone 4. A lounge chair was placed right in front of the fridge and a futon served as seating in the living area and sleeping for a third person. A tiny "dining" table was placed against a wall in the living area and the front door needed to be closed to access the table. The window in the bedroom at the right of the picture was a couple of yards from the main road into Northport and very noisy with traffic sounds. The worst was the very musty smell inside that indicated to us that the place had not been occupied for who knows how long. The smell drove us away. We couldn't stay for fear of getting the smell into our clothes and food.

We are sorry this cottage did not meet your expectations. The cottage has been rented all summer and have not heard anything about it smelling but we did take an ozone machine just in case, again so sorry this was not a good match for you.
