About this property
CHARTER FARM - FIND YOUR HAPPY HAMLET
Charter Farm is the perfect hamlet from which to escape the city. Come with your family or friends. Charter Farm is a historic property on 244 acres with an additional 50 acres of Crown lease along the Loddon River that runs through the middle of the undulating property. Located in Glen Luce is a small goldfields town that still has remnants of its mining days, with natural springs and extensive walking tracks.
This delightful property offers a total of four charming bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with queen beds. Additionally, one bedroom features a king bed that can be conveniently split if desired. Lastly, there is a charming room with two cozy bunk beds, perfect for accommodating larger groups or families. The house sleeps a total of ten.
Inside the house includes original artworks by Craig Waddell, Joan Ross, Sam Leach, Fiona Pardington, prints by Carla Fletcher and numerous lino cut prints sourced from Lauriston Press, Kyneton. Hotel bed linen, electric blankets, Aspar body products and towels are provided. The open plan living and dining area has a table that seats 12, a Smart TV, Bose sound system, a wood fire heater and split system, games, and plenty of good reads. There is Telstra coverage and wireless internet for Wi-Fi calling and data. The fully equipped kitchen has been recently updated but retains the charm of a traditional farmhouse kitchen. Two bathrooms make it easier for groups.
Down by the river, there is a delightful picnic and fire pit area for BBQs with equipment and a shipping container with chairs to enjoy the space at night and in the colder months. Either drive to the spot or walk the 800m there as part of the experience.
There are many activities to enjoy on the property with a tennis court, basketball and netball rings, mountain bikes, boules and an inground trampoline. Racquets and balls and other sporting equipment are all provided. At the house, there is an outdoor BBQ and table that seats up to eight and a dog kennel and bowls for visiting pooches. Please note dogs are permitted by arrangement but must be under control at all times as the property is home to sheep and lambs.
Glen Luce is part of Mount Alexander Shire. The Dja Dja Wurrung are the traditional owners of the region. We respect and acknowledge the vital role of the traditional owners, the local Djaara people, as the custodians of the region where Charter Farm is located.
