This place is just like being at home. If you really want to go to a place that is just like your mom’s house.. to feel cozy and warm this is the place to go. We loved it!
Fantastic home for a short getaway. The host was extremely communicative and the house was the perfect location for our trip. We will be back! Thank you!

Great place for larger group
This was a lovely place to spend a week in Massanutten. We were a multi-family group and the size of place was perfect - not too big or too small. Everything we needed was in the house already, or close by. Very comfortable and relaxing.

Family fun in Massanutten
We had a great time staying at "The Dog House." The house was great for our extended family and our kids, as a nice base for visiting Shenandoah NP and the surrounding area. It was comfortable and inviting. The kids were especially excited about the bunkbeds and painted mural. The games and puzzles were good for evening wind-down time. The welcome book helped us narrow down some non-national park options for hiking and activities. The kids loved all the stairs in the house, but someone with mobility issues would find them challenging. Overall, we would recommend this place and consider staying again.
This house was perfect for our family of 8! The property manager was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We especially liked the dog themed rooms, hence it being called the Dog House.
The advertisement was not kidding about the steep driveway though, and lots of stairs to climb. But we would definitely rent it again.
I liked the upper deck did not like nothing else about the house

Sweet Home
We would stay here again. The driveway was a challenge as others have mentioned, but we were thankful for a backup cam to get out! The house was clean and comfortable. We were disappointed to find the oven was very dirty and covered with burnt food on foil from the previous guest. We turned to the gas grill, and it was equally grungy. We made do and bought/cooked in foil on the outdoor grill. There were no grilling utensils or brushes to clean the grill ourselves. This home is comfortable for adults but can be a challenge if you have anyone with mobility issues, or really young children. The upper porch railings are a safety issue, but fine if you are aware and monitor the littles. Overall a lovely house and comfortable stay.

The property wasn't in great condition. The carpet was dirty, the bath linens were musty smelling, the lower decking was covered in algae which created very slippery walking to and from the car during a rainstorm, the upper deck should probably be deemed "dangerous" as the railing was quite wobbly and the deck board were soft feeling. The kitchen freezer did not freeze our food items and while preparing meals on an old 1970 stove the elements were quite dirty and worn out. Lastly when preparing meals, the pots and pans were put away dirty which required us to wash the items before using.
On the plus side, the children's room was great with bunk beds and the upper living/ dining area was open and spacious.

Hi Sandra, we wanted to pass along the following feedback from the homeowners: Hi Sandra, thank you for your visit and for providing this feedback. We're sorry to read that you encountered those issues. We'll certainly address the appropriate ones with our cleaning company. We have not had any issues with the freezer or stove from our other guests so we'll have them looked at to make sure they are still in proper working order. We'll also be sure to have the deck looked at to make sure it's clean and safe.

this place accomodated our family of 8 quite well as we spent a few days touring skyline drive
Clean, great location to Harrisonburg, accurate description, except for the driveway. I don't recall any description of how steep and slightly twisted it was. Normally that's not a problem but with all the rain we had, combined with nature's debris from trees and an overgrown yard, plus a significant dropoff to avoid, it made it challenging to park two SUVs in the driveway without blocking one another. Nevertheless, we managed. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again! We recommend the location.
We had such a wonderful time! The house was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of room for 3 generations. Beautiful view, quiet, but convenient to lots of activities. Would definitely stay again.
The neighborhood is extremely quiet which was nice! The view from the deck with the trees beginning to bloom was awesome. You could see the Shanadoah national park from the deck & that’s where I spent my mornings. We did have to drive about 20 mins to get to the park to go hiking but that wasn’t a big deal for us. Great place to chill after a day of hiking…great star gazing spot😀
The property was very clean. The house was amazing. Thank you! Our stay was amazing. No problems even when it snowed. Salt was provided and snow shovels.
Our extended family had a wonderful weekend together at this property. The younger kids loved the bunk room and toys. There was plenty of room for everyone and the host was very responsive.

I had an wonderful stay at this properly - March 2021
The only issue I had was that it was 1 tv in the entire house, the tv wouldn’t work properly, wouldn’t turn on / no cable ):
I contacted the property to help but got no response or replies
I was surprise that it was no TV to watch during my weekend getaway with my family
I recommend the property to obtain TV for the rooms and living room area
We had to use our phones, laptops and tablets 🤦♀️ smh
I liked the patio and the view
The neighbor on the right was rude because the kids was loud
So I had to put him in his place
Don’t ever talk or yell to children speak to the parents instead
Other than that I had a great time
I will definitely not visit this property again especially with no TV to watch
