We had a great time. Family of 6 and had plenty of room. Loved the view finder on the deck to see the ocean. Short walk to the beach and not very many people so was like having our own private beach.
we had a great time in this beach house. the walk to the beach is not far at all and the neighborhood was great. we loved that there was a convenient store right behind us for any last-minute items we needed. the only concerns we had was the carpet in the bathroom and the "sticky" burs that would get caught in the carpet. did not feel very well when stepped on-but overall, a very nice home. we will probably rent again due to it being so close to the beach and peacefulness.
Great house, well stocked kitchen. Everything worked as it should. Outdoor shower was very handy. Only downside was the burrs/briars outside loved to stick to the soles of shoes, which ended up being prickly surprises during a midnight walk to the bathroom. Other than that it was a great house!
The 4 of us had a great week relaxing. House was clean well kept. Plenty of cooking utensils. The only thing the kitchen needs is a large stock pot.
And the carpet in the master bathroom was a negative for us. It holds little plant burrs that would stick you in your foot unexpectedly. We have never stayed at a beach house with carpet before. All in all a great place.
The dishwasher did not work. Right top draw in back bathroom needs fixing. Need to kill grass or pour concrete from parking area to steps going up stairs. Over all good place just needs some small things fixed
Great location! Check in/out was easy! Everything mostly clean. Some towels felt dirty or had things on them from previous renters. We needed maintence for our lock since it was jammed/wouldn’t work and they were very fast to give us a key for the rest of our stay!
My biggest complaint was that the master bathroom was carpeted. You could tell it was starting to mold in the corners. But other than that great stay!
Overall this is a nice place to stay. There are a lot of positives. The best feature is the location. Low traffic, and a short walk to the beach. Without getting too picky, the negatives we experience were: Grounds around house and deck were not maintained. Worst part about the grounds was there were stickers (sand burs) all around the house. Upon arriving I spent about 20 mins just pulling sticker plants from around the parking area to the deck/stairs. I found about 6 stickers in the carpet with my bare feet in the first hour... not fun. Ended up searching over all the carpets so my kids would not step on any. We made sure we took our shoes off on the deck. Stickers got into everything including our car. This was probably the biggest negative of the trip.... it was the problem that would not go away. Another issue was the couch and loveseat were worn and just looked dirty. We ended up covering them with blankets. One think that was dangerous was an outside electrical housing/box under the house had a broken lid so the electrical components were exposed. I had a serious conversation with my kids not to go near the box. There was carpet in the master bathroom which to us was a little odd. It needed a good cleaning, especially around the baseboard were the vacuum could not reach. Washer and dryer were really loud but not that big of a deal really. No cutting board in kitchen and you will need to bring basic supplies as very little is provided.
Love the house. Great location. Will be coming back next year hopefully around the 4th of July. Would like for the thermostat to be unlocked or set at a lower temp, but a great place.
House was incredible! It is a very short walk to the beach, only 20 minutes from the main highway in Gulf Shores, and very nicely updated. My husband, 2 teenage boys and I enjoyed our week! Will definitely think about renting this house again!!
We were very happy with this property. Our family of 6 was very comfortable and were pleased how close this was to the beach
The only thing I would suggest is perhaps leave a few more supplies. Each bathroom only had one roll of toilet paper so we had to go buy more. There were no coffee filters so we bought some and left for the next guest. Would also be nice to have a large stockpot. We always do a seafood boil at the beach but had nothing to cook it in. Other than that we were very happy with our stay.
