Beautiful Northstar lodge with private hot tub, perfect for families

Perfect home for family vacations. It's our personal family home and has everything you could need to enjoy it, from the fully-equipped kitchen with espresso machine, to the welcoming fireplace and a large private hot tub. Multi levels offer plenty of space and privacy for all, making it ideal for multiple families, with two master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The upstairs offers a large open living space with gas fireplace and dining for 8. The downstairs family room with another gas fireplace provides additional space to cozy up and watch a movie or play games.

The home is surrounded by the Northstar golf course, alongside the 12th fairway and overlooking the 16th green. In the winter, the golf course provides for a beautiful winter walk, with miles of trails adjacent to the course for more adventurous walks or cross country skiing. You can sled right outside the door.

Take the provided guest cards to the NPOA recreation center for use of its pools, spas, saunas, fitness facility, game room and video arcade, tennis courts, bocce ball, basketball, kids playground, and summer activities; an adults-only clubhouse offers leather couches, a fireplace, and a library. A 90-foot lap pool remains open all year, but is adults-only in summer, when another large pool and a children's pool are open for families. One spa holds 50 people, with 2 smaller spas reserved for adults. Guest access fees are $3 per person per day (cash only).

We are located very conveniently on the free shuttle route that operates within the Northstar resort.

Halfway between Truckee, one of North America's coolest mountain towns, and the gorgeous North Shore of Lake Tahoe, Northstar is a family-friendly, year-round destination resort attracting hundreds of thousands of ski/snowboard and mountain biking enthusiasts each year. In the winter, enjoy access to almost 100 trails and over 3,000 skiable acres, impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier. Take advantage of world class terrain parks, cross country skiing, a youth Adventure Park, and a 9,000 square foot ice rink surrounded by fire pits and a rink-side bar. Northstar has a great alpine village with a year-round skating rink surrounded by fire pits, rink-side bar, movie theater, shops and restaurants. Northstar also offers golf, tennis, bike rentals, horseback riding, spas, eateries, and more.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy house. It was the perfect base for all snow activities with Northstar so close by. The kitchen was really well equipped and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was a huge hit with our kids. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend and stay again if we were in the area.

Coziest cabin in Northstar

Such a cute place! Two families with tweens stayed for a long weekend. The kitchen is very well stocked (my husband loves to cook) which is rare in a rental house. The kids loved the separate family room and bunk room, and the adults loved sipping cocktails by the fire. We will definitely be back! Great responsive hosts.

Our family of four (kids aged 12 and 14) absolutely loved this comfy and charming cabin. There was plenty of room to stretch out, play games, watch movies, and cook. The hot tub was dreamy, the beds were comfy, the fireplace was cozy, and the free Northstar shuttle to the slopes was awesome! We were only there for a weekend, but we would have loved to have stayed longer.

Large place with 4 TVs and 2 gas fireplaces! Very well equipped kitchen. There were a few glitches-minor broken or not functioning features. The back side decks are spacious and in a beautiful setting. You can see the golf course from both front and back but only through forested trees. Contact owner before entering as the alarm may not be set, contrary to check in document. You don’t want to mess with that if not needed. A very quiet and peaceful late summer stay for me.

Perfect Location, Cozy Cabin!

We had a great stay. We brought our teenage sons for a snowboarding trip. The location was perfect, just 2 minutes from Northstar. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked. There were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. Three full bathrooms was a plus! The boys loved the hot tub after a long day of snowboarding . They stayed entertained playing the X-Box and PlayStation. We couldn’t have picked a better place to have a mother son get away. Liz our host was so friendly and easy to reach if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

Great location

Property wasnt too clean. Whoever did it before our stay, must have been in a hurry. A lot of trash and a lot of spider webs. Decks were not cleaned off should have been swept off. Freezer was full of food left by previous renters. Carpet needs to be replaced. Property from outside was very nice. Liked all the decks and hot tub was nice. Owner said they were going to fix a lot of the things I mentioned. Would certainly look at renting this again in the future.

Beautiful decks and great property!

Our family stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend. The house was spacious and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you needed (even sharp knives which you never see at rental properties). My favorite part was sitting on one of the beautiful decks surrounded by trees, eating breakfast or reading a book. And of course, we all enjoyed the hot tub. I’d love to spend a week there next time.

Wonderful family getaway

This place is perfect for a couple of families with kids. There are two bedrooms for the parents and one bedroom full of bunk beds and toys for the kids. The Northstar shuttle is very easy to use, if you are driving in from elsewhere, you'll likely have to shuttle up to the village anyway. Communication with the owners was very good. Read the check in directions carefully.

Phenomenal family cabin

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our stay. Tucked away in the woods, but on the Northstar shuttle route for convenience, we were able to relax and re-energize. From the excellent sledding right out back, to the copious games and movies provided, this is a perfect family retreat!

The perfect vacation house!

Every step in this process has been great. It's our first experience with the VRBO site and that was smooth. The owners/property manager was with us every step along the way with excellent communication. The house was even better than we were hoping it would be. With two master suites, kids bedroom and then also a family game room, it's perfect for two families. The house and the communication for this property were a perfect 10. Every detail has been well thought out. We are already looking forward to the next opportunity to go back! Thank you for such a great experience and family vacation memory.

Location says it ALL!!

We had a marvelous stay. The house was very spacious and allowed us to spread out. It was well stocked with paper products, trash bags, spices, linens , etc. The hot tub was phenomenal after long days of skiing. We also enjoyed both gas fireplaces as they made for cozy evenings in, and we did not have to keep the fire going with wood. The location could not have been better as it was very close to the slopes and the grocery. We used the free Northstar shuttle to the slopes which was very convenient and a great experience. The home had sleds for our use as well which was also a fun bonus!! The owner was easy to work with and checked in on us the day of arrival to make sure everything was good.

Liz's property in the Northstar area of Tahoe was great. Clean, spacious, and perfectly located. We loved that it was on a golf course with easily walkable trails for Grandma but also within driving to all key spots: the lake, Truckee, Squaw, etc., for more serious trail exploring. Always nice to come back after a day outside to such a nice place! We'll be back.

This is a sibling owned family vacation house for family members located on both coasts (Bay Area and NYC).

Why they chose this property

This Northstar cabin is cozy and comfortable for several small groups at once and surrounded by a forest of Aspen trees. It is conveniently located and is a member of the highly desirable Northstar HOA which includes a host of highly desirable amenities including a recreation center and door to door shuttle transportation.

What makes this property unique

Our house is located in a prime spot directly on the Northstar golf course on a quiet dead end street with quick easy access to the main Northstar road.
From the dining room, you can easily view a great sledding hill for any kids in your party.
The six person hot tub is large enough for your whole party.
The hiking trails around the neighborhood and to the Northstar Village are easily accessible from the house.
Kitchen is well stocked for any cooking needs.
