About this property

Blacksmiths Beach Shack

A family holiday shack which sleeps up to 8 people.

The home is situated one street back from the waters of the Swansea channel, approx. 675m walk from Blacksmiths Beach and Surf Life Saving Club and approx. 650m walk to the grannies pool. Blacksmiths beach is patrolled in the summer months.

The house is open plan with a large living area that has a lovely sea breeze with a Curved TV, dvd player, plenty of lounge seating including 2 recliner chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped including a newly installed dishwasher, dining table and highchair. If you prefer to eat outdoors, there is a generous covered entertaining area with a BBQ and an outdoor table.
The house is equipped with a variety of dvd's, books and board games for those indoor and lazy days.

The bedrooms are all good size and have remote control lights and ceiling fans:
Bedroom 1 - Queen bed & built in Wardrobe. TV and DVD player
Bedroom 2 - Queen bed & built in Wardrobe
Bedroom 3 - 2 sets of bunk beds. One is King single bunk bed and the 2nd is double and Single bunk bed.
Portacot is available in bedroom 2 wardrobe.

1 bathroom has a shower over bath. There is also a washing machine, dryer, portable clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

There is plenty of car parking space in the driveway.

The house is just minutes to shopping, dining and entertainment at Blacksmiths, Swansea, Pelican, Caves Beach, Catherine Hill Bay, Warners Bay foreshore.

Please note: This house is booked exclusively for your use. It is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and there is contactless check in and check out.

All bedding is provided and all mattresses, quilts and pillows have protectors. A hand towel and bath mat is provided.

Great Family Getaway

Lovely beachside accommodation located close to surf, pool and shops. Very clean and comfortable inside and out. Kitchen ware and appliances very suitable for food preparation for a large group. The amenities catered to interests of all our age groups - Large screen TV, DVD's and board games were an additional bonus keeping everyone entertained. A great place for our family holiday.

Comfortable house in great location

A nice beach house - not fancy but had everything we needed. Comfortable beds and couches, kitchen well equipped (although oven is a bit slow to get going). Location is excellent - an easy walk or ride to Blacksmiths beach and some great picnic spots just across the road. Only small issue was the very noisy fan in the children's bedroom but we advised the owner so hopefully this will get fixed.

Spacious vacation home perfect for the family

The place was really spacious and clean, and the location was perfect; only a few minutes to Blacksmiths Beach and a nice central area to a lot of places that are located east of the lake. There was a good collection of movies and board games, which offered endless family entertainment. Be mindful that there is only one toilet and bathroom (had to work out a booking system with our family of 5 adults), but that didn’t really detract from the enjoyment of our holiday. The host was also very nice and answered any problems we had in a prompt manner. Definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for an affordable family-friendly place to stay in Lake Mac!

Cook top working only one , no air fryer

The floor wasn’t that clean when we went in , bed covers and blankets don’t look like been washed.sofar a little too old no towel no soap . Doors are not that clean I am sorry to say all this .over all the cleaning doesn’t look like professional cleaning

I’m very disappointed to hear about the clean as I used a local professional company with a pristine reputation and I will forward them your review. The cleaner has strict instructions between each visit, the floor is vacuumed and mopped, the bed linen is changed and washed. Soap is provided in both the bathroom and kitchen., furthermore, it is advertised with no towels, only a bath mat and hand towel, also I send a message to remind you to bring your own towels. I apologised about the cook top as I wasn’t aware of this, I’m in the process of getting this fixed/replaced, although you did state that you weren’t planning on cooking the weekend. The place was left in not a very clean state by your family and also minor damages, I didn’t pass on the extra cleaning costs to offset the stove the stove issues. I take your comments on board and will pass this to the cleaning company.

Not as advertised and unsafe! The ad said there was a pool, linen/towels provided and a playground on the property. The pictures advertised in the ad was not the same as the condition that we met. The backyard fence and side gate had large gaps/holes that the children could fit through, no advertised beach chairs and also large gaps under the house. The yard had garden rubbish piled up. Outdoor furniture, toys and cubby house had major wear and tear from age. There were no water views as stated in the add. The house fuse stopped when we tried to use the vacuum cleaner, so I checked where the fuse box was and the side gate fell on me. The washing machine left the clothes dirtier than went in. The dishwasher not cleaning well. Laundry sink was not attached and could be easily moved by the 2year old. The bedroom cupboards floors dirty/dusty. Uneven floors unmarked. The shower was not great and no floor drains in bathroom. Damages to walls, doors, blinds and window latches throughout. Broken step on ladder to top bunk bed. Bed sheets marked/stained. Only one hand towels and one floor mat provided, no towels. A/C only in the lounge/common area. Bedrooms are fans only. And note you will be charged an international transaction fee as the owner uses VRBO.

Great getaway with little kids

We had a great weekend staying here with our baby and our 4-year-old. Lots of games and books, a cubby house and sandpit out the back and within walking distance to the lake and the beach, making it a family favourite!

Quite a nice place.. only downside is lack of power points near the beds for chargers. Take a power board. But was a very nice place.

Great spot on a quiet road near the beach and Granny's pool.

Home from home, very comfortable for two small families of 3 sharing the space. Great location giving access to Lake Macquarie but under 2 hours from Sydney. The landlord was a pleasure to deal with and they've put a lot of thought into making the place a great holiday rental. Recommended.
