You will enjoy sunsets under the covered lakeside porch with astounding views of Bald Mountain, Doctor's Island and beyond. Step off the front porch to your own private dock and take a swim in the clear pristine waters of this special place. Swim out to the floating dock and enjoy sunbathing to the sound of the resident loons. Bring your kayaks, bicycle, canoe, fly rods, fishing poles, and hiking boots because it is all here for your relaxation and enjoyment.

Justawhim was completely renovated in 2016 including all new mattresses, bedding, linens, towels and new furnishings. While most of the original fixtures in the house were preserved, it still offers many modern amenities. The fully equiped kitchen has a modern rustic decor with the original 1911 wood cook stove that was converted to a modern 4-burner gas cook top. Two full upstairs bathrooms adorn claw foot tubs with showers and the downstairs bathroom has a standing shower. There are three large field stone fireplaces located in the living room, dining and master bedroom. The expansive and welcoming living room has a flat screen Roku TV, wi-fi, games, puzzles, comfortable sofas and chairs and offers a lake view on one side and a view of the back terraced garden on the other.

This home has all the privacy one would desire yet is still close to shops, restaurants, and endless outdoor activities. The friendly and nearby towns of Rangeley and Oquossoc offer restaurants, shops, golf, tennis, marinas, boat and slip rentals, grocery markets and much more. So what are you waiting for? Leave all your worries behind to relax in the natural beauty of Rangeley Lake and surrounding mountains.

A true Maine lakeside experience

JustAwhim is a special cabin. Location is convenient to the grocery store and Main Street restaurants/shops. The cabin is a quaint, spacious space that fosters quality time and tranquility from the lake. It’s historic nature makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the early 1900s with all of the modern conveniences. Lorna was a gracious host and met us at the property to show us around. We couldn’t ask for better hospitality. Although it was a bit chilly in early September this year, it did not take away from our experience. We all enjoyed the lake and this beautiful cabin!

Picture-perfect spot on a lovely lake

My family loved our week on Rangeley lake, with views of Bald Mountain from our bedroom windows and loons calling in the evening. The cottage is beautifully appointed with lovely linens, comfortable furniture and a fully stocked kitchen including an old, refurbished range for cooking. The owners were very helpful and shared their canoes, kayaks and tennis court, which added to the fun. The lake is clean and quiet, perfect for swimming and kayaking. We wish we could have stayed longer, especially to enjoy a few more afternoons on the front porch!

A True Camp Experience

Justawhim is an authentic lakefront cabin with just the right amount of rustic charm. On rainy days we spent time indoors reading books, playing board games, and relaxing. On the nicer days we hiked to the top of Bald Mountain, visited Angel Falls, the Town of Rangeley, and spent time on the pristine lake. The well furnished waterfront porch of Justawhim provided the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, sunsets, and the incredible views of the lake. The homeowners were very accommodating and easy to work with. We enjoyed getting to know them. We would highly recommend a Justawhim visit to anyone.
