House was very clean. Dining and kitchen area was great for preparing and sharing meals with our friends. Location was convenient for traveling to and around Live Oak.

From the owner: "Hi Thomas, thank you for the feedback. We are happy you enjoyed your stay! We appreciate the suggestions you gave us, and we'll use them to improve our guest experience as soon as possible!"
We rented this home to attend the Suwannee Spring Festival with our Florida friends. The home was at a great location to do that and provided us with the quiet restful nights we were looking for during our vacation. We will definitely stay again.

Good Choice.
House was very clean. Host was flexible about check in time.
This place is cute. Only a few minutes from town and clean. Please be aware the thermostat is locked, you have to haul your own trash even though the cleaning fee is over $100, and the water quality is very poor.

Hi Amanda, we’re delighted to hear that you loved the location and how clean this home was! Here is some information from the owner about your concerns:
- We’ve had problems with previous guests putting the thermostat on the lowest setting which broke the air conditioning. We want our guests to be comfortable though and if there is any concern, we are happy to adjust the thermostat to a reasonably lower temperature.
- The water is well water, and there is some clay in it. It is tested regularly and perfectly safe for bathing, but no one should drink or cook with it. We apologize for any inconvenience.
- Because we live in a rural area, there not being any trash removal service, and there are wild animals, we ask that the guest take their trash with them. This is not entirely unusual for other rentals with these circumstances but we understand how that may be unexpected for you. We’re sorry that the cleaning fee is higher than you expect, but it is only what we are charged for such a large house to be disinfected since Covid-19 started, and cleaned and linens washed. We provide so many other amenities that other houses do not, such as coffee, snacks, and a comfortable, safe home, so we feel it is a good value. We do hope that you will come back and certainly let us know what we can do to make your stay more comfortable next time.

Intrusive owners and Shocking Rules
I don't like to leave poor reviews but this particular landlord has some very unusual rules and likes to intrude on your vacation. I will start out with the fact that the house is clean and in great shape, however the owners only share house rules once you are ready for check in, so I will share them here so you can decide for yourself if this is the situation you want for your vacation:
1. AC and Thermostat- You have to text the. owner to have them adjust the thermostat and they will do so if they choose. In other words if you like it cooler than 72 when you sleep, you are out of luck.
2. Toilets- They have signs posted in the bathroom that read "If it doesn't come out of your body, don't put it in the potty". 3rd world type of rules, not Florida.
3. Trash- Not only do you have to save your number 2 business toilet paper in the trash, they tell you that you have to put it in your car and take it home with you. Text from owner: "As a reminder that you please keep all garbage inside and take it with you upon departure. Given your location in a rural area-there are wild animals, any garbage left outside in the trash bin poses a dangerous situation for house guests. Any trash left behind will incur penalties." What a treat. Just for reference the house is in a community with kids running around during day and evening hours. The parents of those children must not like them very much. (sarcasm)
4. Ring Cameras- They have 2, one on the front door and one on the back door, both exterior but they use these to monitor you. Case in point, when our daughter arrived with her husband and kids, there was a strong chemical odor in the house. We told them to open up the house and let it air out. Well she did and as soon as she did that I received this text from the owner "Hey Mike, there are poisonous spiders and lots of wasps and other insects that will get in with those doors open. The doors cannot stay open". This was unacceptable to me so I immediately put a bandaid over the ring camera which brought a wrath of texts, phone calls and emails threatening to evict and charge me for vandalism. The male owner even said he was calling the local sheriff (his friend) on me. I of course would have been happy to chat with that sheriff about the situation, but of course we had no such visitors.
The bottom line is that the property is nice but is ruined by ownership that has no business being in the VRBO rental business.

Hi Mike, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
- Safety for our guests is a main priority. The cameras are disclosed and accurately advertised on the listing and the pre-stay email, which was sent to you two weeks before your arrival. This information is public for guests to verify before confirming a reservation and upon booking your stay, it implies you were aware of the house rules and the camera that's on-site externally.
- We were disappointed that you decided to obstruct our exterior cameras by putting a band-aid over the lens. This was an Evolve policy violation, and although we were advised to evict your family, we chose to honor grace and allow you to stay in our home even with disrespectful comments and gestures from you to our cameras
- We are attentive to our guests' needs. This includes keeping your family safe since you mentioned when you called that you had two babies. We didn't want anyone in your party to be bit by spiders since the doors were left open. We weren't trying to intrude on your privacy, but we were trying to keep you safe
- We never received a message from you about changing the temperature in our home. We are very responsive to our guests so we wish that you had reached out about this
- Being in such a rural area, we, unfortunately, don't have trash service. This is why we specify to guests in their check-in instructions that they will need to take the trash with them when they leave
- We are upstanding individuals in our community and we have a very good relationship with our neighbors
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
The location was ideal for our daily commute. The open space floor plan made it easy for our guests to visit and share meals. Check in process was smooth and hosts responded promptly to all queries.
It was a great stay.. perfect for a gathering where everyone could comfortably be in the same space and not be separated from others unless they wanted to go to bedrooms
