Earth & Soul - 300 acres of natural bushland. Over 18 kilometres of walking trails. Cannon Creek runs through the middle of the property from west to east opening out to rocky, open creek bed and a natural gorge. On our lower, eastern boundary, Cannon Creek joins the Broadwater. Doro's Hole is a natural open water hole, 400 metres long, on the Broadwater. Only perhaps 20 acres of Earth & Soul has ever been cleared, the rest of it is natural, protected & endangered Granite Belt landscape. Stay at Earth & Soul Retreat and make contact with the Earth and nurture your Soul.
Architecturally and environmentally designed, secluded Rammed Earth cabins. The thermal mass of the earth walls adds to the inner warmth and the natural feel & comfort of the Granite Belt. There is a touch of paradise in the style & nature of the accommodation with an easy transition to the outside world of nature.
In 2009 we built our own rammed earth home on our property Earth & Soul. Our dream, environmentally designed, open plan, natural light & air with an easy transition to nature from the deck onto the natural granite rock. Off-grid power, Baker's oven for heating & cooking. Peace & serenity. Visitors loved the experience of the natural quiet and comfortable climate of the rammed earth. So, now you can do it too!

About the host
Hosted by Mark
Our love of the land and the property where we live brought us to a solution that funds our retirement. Earth & Soul Retreat is that solution. The Earth Cabin is complete and ready for guests. In November we commence building the Soul Cabin.
Why they chose this property
The property was originally owned by my wife¿s family and the connection with the earth was very strong. Beautiful 300-acre natural granite belt vegetation & landscape with 2 creeks and outstanding granite features including Cannon Creek Gorge and the Dragon¿s Backbone. My grandfather was a soldier settler at Amiens and for me it was like returning to my origins.
What makes this property unique
Luxury couple's retreat (no children, no pets) in secluded natural bushland setting. Only 12 kms from the town of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt. 2.5 hours drive from Brisbane.
Your Granite Belt experience starts with the natural, quiet, warm feel of the environmentally designed rammed earth construction. Add to this the experience of living off-grid.
The firepit off the deck is the focal point of the architectural design, so that whether from the King bed, the leather chaise recliner lounge or the Iron bark timber breakfast bar, your view to the natural surrounds takes in the gentle glow of the firepit. The Baker's oven is ideal for heating and also practical cooking. There is a full kitchen with stove top, microwave etc. and also a Weber Baby Q BBQ on the deck. Every package includes a breakfast basket, a meal pack, a local red or white wine, apple juice, ingredients for smores, 1 litre of milk, a tub of ice cream.
18 kms of natural walking trails through the Cannon Creek catchment, natural granite gorge and other granite features. Close to all regional attractions, over 50 Granite Belt wineries and Girraween National Park.
