About this property
Custom French Country Home in the Historic Mirror Lake District | Billy Cabin
This Rent In Highlands vacation rental home has a strict NO PET policy. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in a $1000.00 fine.

There's a particular feeling that hits when a vacation rental gets everything right — the light, the layout, the porch that makes you cancel your dinner reservation and just stay in. Bungalow on Crowe has that feeling from the first step through the door.
Peaceful views. An open, airy floor plan. A massive covered deck with a tin roof overhead and the sound of the trees doing all the talking. Stylish without trying too hard, comfortable without sacrificing a thing. This is the one you've been scrolling past everything else to find.
Sleep, Eat, Repeat. Two king bedrooms on the main level — both dressed in plush linens, both designed for the kind of sleep that makes you forget what day it is. The open kitchen and dining area flow naturally into the living space, so meals feel less like a production and more like everyone just ended up in the same room at the right time. The décor throughout is fresh and considered, the kind of update that makes a space feel current without losing its warmth.
Downstairs, Things Get Fun -The lower level earns its keep. A media and game room anchored by a 65-inch TV makes movie nights a genuine event, and an electric fireplace keeps the atmosphere exactly right when the mountain air turns cool. The full bathroom down here features a cast-iron clawfoot tub — charming, unexpected, and the kind of detail that gets mentioned every time someone describes this place to a friend.
The Deck is the Real Living Room - Step out from the main level onto the covered porch and the trip officially begins. A tin roof overhead, a lounge area for sinking in, a dining table set for six for meals that stretch well past dessert — this deck handles mornings, afternoons, and evenings with equal ease. Out front, a wide open yard gives kids room to actually run, and as the sun starts to drop, the firepit becomes the natural gathering point for whoever's left standing.
Two spaces. One fire. No agenda. That's the Bungalow on Crowe formula, and it works every time.
Close to Everything, Far From the Noise Downtown Highlands is just minutes away — restaurants worth the drive, shops worth browsing, trails and waterfalls worth the effort. But between the deck, the clawfoot tub, the firepit, and the game room, you may find your group remarkably reluctant to leave the property at all.
That's not a bad problem to have.
NOTICE: The garage is for owner's use only. There is no grill at this home.
What our guests are saying…
"Great property tucked away from main road. Leaves were popping with color and the house was great Great place to hang out with another couple. Two king beds each with their own bath. Beds were comfortable. Large covered porch with ample seating looking into a large open area. Back yard was fenced with a fire pit set up. Living room was great for catching up with two opposing couches. Kitchen was well appointed with new SS appliances and beautiful hickory cabinets. It was well done rehab and now is a diamond." - Rent In Highlands Vacation Rental Guest, Doug

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
I reached out to the property management company to see if I could check in early. I did not hear back from them, after 48 hours I followed up. They confirm the property was available but wanted to charge me 75 which I think is ridiculous if the property is clean and ready. I travel almost nonstop and almost everyone will let you check in early as long as there’s availability. When I got to the property, there was an app that was missing off of the smart TV that I wanted to add. Again after 48 hours, I followed up and finally heard from somebody and then took there. The house did smell like mold pretty bad, but they brought in a dehumidifier that helped very much. The home is in a great location

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad you enjoyed the home’s location. We’re sorry that parts of your stay did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to address your concerns during your visit.
We would, however, like to clarify a few details for future guests.
Your initial request for an early arrival was sent at 10:00 PM on Saturday, outside of our office hours. We responded when our office opened on Monday at 10:00 AM and immediately began checking with housekeeping regarding the possibility of early access. Our standard check-in time is 4:00 PM, and we do offer a 1:00 PM early arrival option for a $75 fee when available. Once the home was ready, we were happy to accommodate your arrival at 3:00 PM at no additional charge.
Regarding the television, we promptly contacted the owner for the necessary information and account passwords and sent maintenance to the home to assist with downloading the HBO app for your use.
Regarding the musty odor, the area had experienced several weeks of severe rain prior to your stay, which may have contributed to a temporary musty odor. This had never previously been reported at the home, and once you notified us, we promptly provided a dehumidifier, which you confirmed helped significantly.
We strive, and our goal is to always respond to concerns and resolve them as quickly as possible. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you during your stay and we sincerely apologize that your experience was not completely seamless.
Cabin was in perfect shape - very clean! Loved the outdoor spaces and beautiful views. My kids loved the games provided in the basement. Would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for the great review Ashley! We look forward to having you stay at Bungalow on Crowe next time!
Only a 4 star because there was TV issues the entire NYE weekend, however it was no fault of the owner and he and the property manager did everything they could to try and fix. Very helpful and friendly. Overall, the place was beautiful.

Thanks for the review Gavin. We're so sorry about the TV issues. We had it serviced today and it turned out to be a connector on the outside of the house that was damaged due to lots of rain and extremely cold temperatures. We appreciate your understanding.
This is a great getaway cottage for a family, couple or possibly two couples. Close proximity to Highlands and Cashiers as well as lots of trails and waterfalls. The house is well appointed and the outdoor spaces are amazing. Our only complaint would be to upgrade the bed in the master. The house is so comfortable, but the master bed is the worst.

Thanks for the great review Ashley! Looking forward to your next visit.
Bungalow on Crowe was our very first VRBO experience and it was wonderful!! Super clean, comfy beds, I enjoyed my coffee on the wonderfully large porch every morning looking at the leaves and watching my kids play in the beautiful yard. The only problem was that we arrived at 11 PM in the dark and cold and didn’t realize the key pad lock was on the second (inside) door from the outside so took a while to find but would have been easier during daylight hours. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were sad to leave. We will be back!!

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for leaving us a review. I do apologize about the trouble you had finding the keypad. This may have been done after your stay, but we have added a note to the information we send out to go through the entrance porch to the front door. Hope you'll visit us again soon!
We loved our stay here. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything thing we needed.Access to town and other activities was perfect. The deck was our favorite spot for morning coffee and reading our books.Loved all of the different spots for relaxing. We will definitely be back.
