Nice place to stay ! So peaceful.. and very enjoyable.. only thing I wish we had was a fire pit .. but other than that great place to stay ! Nice and clean ..great stay for me and my daughter and our two small dogs .. pet friendly place !
The place was nice and secluded and peaceful. The staircase is a little precarious but managed I would recommend new bedding. The sheets and pillows were poor quality. I would stay again but require that change. Thank you.

Hi Richard, we’re so glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet of your stay. We’re sorry there were some hiccups along the way. The owners truly value guest feedback, and if you’re open to sharing more details, we’d love to learn how we can make future stays even better. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us.
This is a lovely cottage on the water just as described. Private, quiet, relaxing . Short drive to town for activities. We loved hanging out on the screened-in porch and walking around the pond. Highly recommend for a place to unwind. Steep narrow steps leading to bedroom and bathroom is only on first floor so would not recommend to persons who cannot manage stairs easily .
The place was cute, small and just the right size for the two of us. Pros: very nice, private location in the Amish countryside. Within 15 to 20 minutes of dining, shopping and specialty shops. Bed is comfy but small for tall or larger folks. Downsides: the stairs to the bedroom can be a challe ge for anyone who has physical ailments or elderly. We did fine with them though. Lighting leading to the home is very little to none making it difficult to navigate in the dark, especially on first arrival. Overall a good experience.

From the owner: "Thank you for your thoughtful review. I’m glad you enjoyed the peaceful setting and charm of the home. For clarification, the bed is a queen-size, and the listing notes that the stairs are steep and may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns. I appreciate your feedback and am happy to hear you had a pleasant stay overall."

Conditions
We had expected a stove to cook on. Nothing but microwave no table, also the bedroom upstairs was a surprise. We are both 86 and the steep and short step treads we’re a probablem. No hand rails inside or out. Bathroom down stairs and bedroom up and difficult stairs was a real problem. This should be noted in the property description. Other than that it was clean and comfortable place.

Not a weekend getaway
This place is definitely not what my husband and I were expecting. We booked it for our 1 year anniversary because we both love amish country. When we arrived we realized this property is a wedding venue and the cottage is a get ready area for wedding parties. There is no kitchen, no comfortable sitting areas other than the couches that are really just for looks. The bed was super small. Bathroom was tiny. Owner of the property was really rude when I voiced concerns. Don’t think it’s advertised correctly & should probably just be used as part of the wedding venue and not for people looking for a weekend getaway.

Hi Abigail, we always appreciate hearing from our guests, but the homeowner would like to take a moment to clarify a few things raised in your review: We use professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect each property and guests can decide before booking if the style of the home meets their expectations. Our property is exactly as-advertised in our listing description and we encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you!
Pros: Booking and communication was easy and clear. Online pics make space appear bigger than actually is, but is fine for 2 people. Stairs to bedroom are steep and small so need to have good legs. Screened-in porch and pond are nice. Bed is decent but pillows are really flat, will want to bring your own.
Cons: there is no stovetop or grill for cooking so have to think ahead for meals. Shower head is at about 5ft which is not convenient for a person 6ft+ There were no Kleenex/tissue, almost completely used roll of paper towels. Wifi for streaming is slow and not able to watch all channels on tv (but this is minor inconvenience considering why you’re there. Wifi for phone/tablet works just fine).
Overall, a quaint, quiet cabin suited for relaxing.

Beautiful but Disappointing
I hate to ever leave anything but the highest reviews for places, but I think it is important to inform people that the cleanliness of this location was just way below what should be the minimum. I understand that pets are welcome at this location, but the couches on the first floor simply could not be sat on by a human - they were covered in hair and detritus of some kind. It was disappointing the level of insect activity inside this property as well - large winged type insect crawling across the kitchen floor when I turned the light on the first time, spider webs on the corner on the floor when I went to plug in the lamp. And what really bothered me is there was hair in the sheets! Maybe animal hair, not sure. I slept on top of the covers and did not touch the pillows either. So disappointing! This location is GORGEOUS. Don‘t get me wrong - that‘s why I booked it! Stunning, beautiful! But so disappointing!! Those couches have simply not been cleaned in who knows how long, or vacuumed, etc. I always check for hair in the sheets, first thing - this tells me if they have even been changed between patrons - and there was hair in them. So gross and so disappointing…I would not stay here again.
We really enjoyed the serene surroundings, the fountain on the pond, the birds and the slower pace. The cabin was charming and old world mixed with modern. If your looking for lots of amenities this would not be for you, but if you just need a quiet place to relax and unwind it’s perfect!
The property was clean, quiet, and quaint. The property is exactly as explained on the VRBO website. It's a perfect getaway for a couple as it only has one bed and one bathroom (that is clearly stated in the description). We spent two nights at the property with zero issues. The property manager greeted us upon arrival and was very friendly. The pond in the backyard provided serenity and the bullfrogs were fun to listen to. We would definitely stay here again. The cottage is equipped with the basic necessities. We had no issues with them, but the stairs going to the bedroom upstairs are a tad steep and may be difficult for the elderly or someone with leg problems.
My husband and I visited the cottage for a little anniversary getaway. It was the most relaxing weekend we’ve had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed the back screened in deck and pond. The cleanliness of the property was second to none. The only downfall of the property is a mini fridge. We stayed a long weekend and did not have much room to store purchases or food/drinks for the weekend. Overall it was the most perfect place for a relaxing getaway!
This is an amazing property if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. So serene and relaxing. Love the little cottage. Especially the porch on the back overlooking the pond. Enjoyed having my coffee on the porch and doing some catch and release fishing in the pond. They are working on turning the property into a wedding venue and I'm excited to see how that turns out. If you have a chance to rent this little cottage for a romantic getaway on their off-wedding weekends, I highly recommend that you do so. There is a lot to do in a less than 30 minute radius or just enjoy the property. We met the owner in person, and she was very kind and welcoming!
My husband and I traveled to Amish country and stayed in this lovely little cottage. It looked just like the pictures. We loved the screened in porch overlooking the pond with fountain. The property is having some restorations done on a huge barn and there were workers there off and on but it didn't bother us. Would definitely go back! Thank you!
