About this property
Ti Cottage - Walkable Oneroa Family Retreat
Summary:
Ti Cottage is a bright, renovated island cottage set in one of Oneroa’s most walkable pockets. With modern interiors, generous outdoor living, a fenced lawn, and an additional sleepout, it offers a comfortable and practical base for families and small groups staying close to the village, beaches, and ferry.
The Space:
Ti Cottage is a relaxed, sun filled home designed for easy island living. The open plan layout feels fresh and functional, with polished wooden floors, comfortable lounge seating, and a dining area that connects easily to both the front and rear decks.
The renovated kitchen is well set up for holiday cooking, with quality appliances and good bench space. Sliding doors bring in natural light throughout the day and open to the outdoor dining area and fully fenced back garden. The lawn is flat and secure, with a trampoline and space for children to play.
Three bedrooms sit within the main house, while the separate sleepout provides additional flexibility for teens or guests wanting a little more privacy. With one and a half bathrooms, indoor and outdoor dining options, and multiple living areas, the home works well for longer stays and shared holidays.

The Neighborhood:
Ti Cottage sits in one of the most walkable pockets of Oneroa, close enough to the village for morning coffee runs and evening dinners, yet tucked away on a quiet residential street that feels relaxed and family-friendly.
A 5-minute walk brings you to Oneroa Village, the island’s main hub, lined with cafés, bakeries, wine bars, boutique shops, galleries, and essential services. Grab a flat white at Wai Kitchen, Double Shot, or Island Coffee, settle in for brunch at Fenice or The Local, or enjoy dinner at Vino Vino, Solar Eating House, The Oyster Inn, or Akito. Nearby shops include Home Grown, Timmy Smith, Batenburgs, art galleries, clothing boutiques, and a local Four Square supermarket.
Two of Waiheke’s most loved beaches are close by, Oneroa Beach (safe, family-friendly swimming) and Little Oneroa Beach (pizza caravan, playground, and picnic areas), both around a 10–12 minute walk from the cottage.
For wine tasting and long lunches, you’re a short drive or quick bus ride from Cable Bay, Mudbrick, The Heke Brewery, Waiheke Distilling Co., Tantalus, Te Motu, Stonyridge, and Wild Estate.
This central location makes Ti Cottage an ideal base for exploring beaches, coastal tracks, and the best of Waiheke food and wine, all without needing a car.
Getting Around:
Ti Cottage is in a prime walkable location. It’s an easy 5-minute walk to Oneroa Village for cafés, boutique shops, galleries, groceries, and the beach. The Matiatia passenger ferry terminal is approximately a 20–25 minute walk, or a quick 3–5 minute taxi or bus ride.
Buses run frequently from Oneroa. From the village you can connect to every major route on the island, including Onetangi, Palm Beach, Ostend, Surfdale, and Rocky Bay.
Buses from Onetangi travel past all major wineries, including Tantalus, Stonyridge, Te Motu, Wild Estate, The Heke, and Cable Bay, before continuing into Oneroa and on to the passenger ferry.
There is easy off-street parking at the property if you’re bringing a car. Taxis and ride services are available but can be limited during peak times, so pre-booking is recommended.
