We had a wonderful stay with our 5 kids. They had the best time playing in the creek and building a fire and just getting to be outside and explore. We will definitely book this cabin in the future!
Super nice cabin secluded in the woods, privacy is nice but sounds like the property manager is going to be moving into the barn. Property owner is great at communicating and is very polite.
We absolutely loved our stay at this peaceful and serene cabin. The property manager Terry was wonderful. You can't beat the porch for coffee and reading. We all really enjoyed the horse; Tonka who lives in the pasture on the property. We will definitely be back.
Property owner & Manager very responsive and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Very nice place but a little farther away from the things we wanted to do than expected. If you want a place that you don’t want to leave, this is it. Overall, a great experience.
Our stay at the gem nestled between Kentucky hills
At our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised, to find this hidden gem of a cabin nestled in Kentucky’s rolling hill. The cabin was rustic and fully stocked with dishes, utensils, soap ext and even logs for the fire. The beds were very comfortable as well as the pillows. The evening times brought amazement from the view of the sky, which shown stars close enough to touch and a night of full moon. We loved our relaxed weekend with family!
A beautiful cabin, on a beautiful property. The host and caretakers were very attentive and friendly and are available to take care of any issues you may have (we only had one minor issue which didn't affect the quality of our stay). If you want to get away from society, you can do it here...but even though you are out in the woods, you are only a short 20 minute drive from town where you can get anything you need. Recommended!!
Cabin was nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay, but the driveway to get to the property was horrible. The road was so narrow and muddy, barely had room for our boat. Some major upkeep needs to be done to the road.

From the owner: "Betsy, thank you for letting us know about your stay. We're sorry to hear you had such trouble navigating to the cabin. We understand that given its location, it can be tricky to maneuver the narrow roads, especially after recent storms in the area. This is the last thing we want for our guests and we wished you would have reached out if there was anything we could've done to make the drive a better experience. We're glad to hear the rest of your stay was enjoyable and we hope for another opportunity to host you again."

Hi Matthew, we shared your review with the homeowner, who provided the following response: We’re truly sorry that your experience was affected by unforeseen natural conditions. While we strive to ensure every stay is comfortable and enjoyable, some factors are simply beyond our control. We hope you’ll consider returning in the future under more favorable circumstances. Thank you again for your feedback, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide a better experience next time.
The cabin was beautiful and just as pictured. We are a family of 4. Our daughter (10 yr.) and son (5 yr.) had a blast. Secluded area complete with friendly horse named Tonka just over the fence. Our family had a blast being away in nature, exploring, having firepit nights, feeding Tonka fruits and vegetables and sleeping in. Terry and Val were great hosts and communication with Alec was quick and helpful. I have read in previous reviews that you cannot get to the water from the property, that is not true. You just have to know where to go. From my understanding soon there could be the road back open to go down there. However, the cabin is a short 5 minute walk to water. I hope one day to come back with our boat and enjoy a longer stay at this beautiful secluded property.
The inside of the cabin was amazing! We loved it! I agree with the reviewer who pointed out that the lake is not as close as the post makes it seem. You can't even see the lake or walk to it. But it is a very short drive and was very enjoyable. The post said there was a dishwasher, but there is none. The host apologized when I asked him where it was and said he would adjust the post to make sure it stated there was no dishwasher. Every time I sent the host a text or email with a question, it was immediately answered. The horse in the pasture in front of the house was a surprise, but it was a very sweet horse and the kids loved it. I would come back to this place if we were ever coming back to this area.

New Year vacation
I recently stayed at a cabin with my family, and while the location was lovely, there were several maintenance issues that detracted from our experience. Firstly, the kitchen utensils were in dire need of restocking. Basic kitchenware was lacking, which made it challenging to prepare meals. Additionally, the stove oven was not functioning, and the microwave was missing its plate, further complicating cooking efforts. The cabin itself needed a deep cleaning. It felt unkempt, and the ceiling fan was particularly dusty, indicating that it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. In the main bathroom, the sink was not draining properly, which was quite inconvenient. On the outdoor side, the grill had no gas, so we were unable to enjoy a barbecue during our stay.Lastly, a few lightbulbs needed replacement, which added to the overall dim atmosphere.Despite these issues, our family loved the experience of being close to nature, and we especially enjoyed the presence of a friendly dog and a beautiful horse on the property. They added a wonderful touch to our stay and made it more enjoyable.Overall, while the cabin had potential, these maintenance issues need to be addressed for future guests to have a more pleasant and comfortable stay. I hope the management can make these improvements, as the location is truly beautiful and the animal companions made our visit special.

Listing inaccurate and disappointed in cleaning
Please note that there is not a fireplace at this property and you cannot walk to the lake from here. The lake might be 0.3 mile from the cabin as the crow flies but humans have to go down another road 1 mile to access the lake. The listing is not clear on access.
When we arrived the downstairs bathroom wasn't clean. There was matter in the sink and someone else's hair in the sink and the bath tub had brown grime on the side. a ring around the tub and someone else's hair. There was an ashtray on the porch full of used cigarette butts and cigarette butts all round the deck on the property. The kitchen counters weren't clean either. Beyond this the whole cabin needs a deep clean. There are mouse droppings, dust build up, you get the idea.
After a long day and drive, I found myself cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen on my first night of vacation. I contacted the owner about the inaccuracies and the cleaning. He responded immediately and apologized about the listing and the cleaning. He said he would get our cleaning fee refunded. I thought this was a great response. However that was 12 days ago. We have since contacted the owner again asking when the refund would be processed with no refund or answer received.
We were also excited about the peace and quiet everyone else talked about but we didn't get it. There is a road just above the cabin and there are dump trucks constantly traveling the road and the neighbors spent a good deal of time on ATVs. We love using VRBO but this property was not a favorite. An inaccurate listing and dirty cabin are disappointing when vacation time is minimal and we work so hard to earn it. This is our first bad review on VRBO and we've been using it for over a decade.

Gwen, thanks for staying with us. We're sorry your stay fell short of your expectations.
- We are sorry you had trouble accessing the lake. We feel the lake is within walking distance, however, we are sorry if this was not your experience.
- We apologize for the lack of cleanliness. We have the home professionally cleaned in between each guest's stay, however, we do understand if things were missed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will be deep cleaning the home and we will reach out to our team to set forth better cleaning practices as this is important to us.
- We are sorry for the noise disturbance caused by the dumpster trucks. We have never gotten this complaint from any of our guests, however, we are sorry it had a negative impact on your stay.
Thank you for providing such valuable feedback, it is greatly appreciated as it allows us to correct these issues before our next booking.
Very beautiful area, especially in fall. There was a fireplace we assumed we could use, and were disappointed we couldn't. We also weren't able to get the oven to work. There was a large jetted tub, but the jets appeared to not function either. Overall though, a beautiful place. We had fun.
