Liked the property, not knowing it was right of the main road was a surprise. Had the impression it was more secluded. Overall the family enjoyed the house, very nice inside.
most comfortable and relaxing place we have rented. had everything you would need and close to all the outdoor activities. we did not use the tv at night instead sat on the deck and watched the deer and elk come in. we will definitely be doing again.
I've stayed in several VRBO's and this property is by far the best. Clean, decorated, stocked, etc. The view is breathtaking. If you have a large group this is your property. Would highly recommend!!
A beautiful lodge with all the home and lodge amenities one needs for such a beautiful and remote location. My brothers and I found this to be an ideal location for all of our outdoor activities. It is remote and country living and that is what we love. We will definitely book future stays.
This lodge was the quintessential home to bring our children and grandchildren to celebrate Christmas and make family memories. So beautifully arranged in every room to invite people to share stories, play pool, cook, play cards, and laugh together. Our family of 15 felt as though they each had their own space plus ample opportunities to engage in activities without bothering others.
We loved the large outdoor space where the littles learned to snowmobile, sled and play in the snow.
It seemed as though we were “coming home”.
We will be returning to this magical retreat.

Great time!
The cabin is beautiful! It has a very nice large yard and several decks. We had eleven adults and four children in our party. There was plenty of room for all. Sleeping, cooking, eating, hanging out. Outdoor activities nearby,(swimming, fishing, hiking, motor sports). The location is somewhat isolated, but Elk City is 20 minutes away, with a good store, eating, and gas! My friends really enjoyed the town.Historic stuff and relics everywhere. Squirrels, deer, and elk abound.Bring your binoculars. Enjoy the quiet!
This escape is in a remote mountain setting. We had fresh snow and some icy roads, not unexpected. Rocks and wet roads are the norm this time of year and lots of snow soon.
The meadow surrounded by forest was the perfect setting. The kids found a hill to sled on, played games, watched movies, and had a blast. The adults had a quiet fireside escape downstairs! The kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of towels and soft beds. I loved waking up, drinking my coffee and watching the snow. What a view! Definitely want to come back and play in the summer. Well worth it!
Came out to visit my daughter who goes to MSU. Jeanne and Jeff are fantastic. I needed a little assistance with the A/C unit and Jeff was so quick to help me out. There place is wonderful and bonus you are right near a beautiful walking path. Will definitely be back!
This place is wonderful for a family get together. The house is beautiful and there are various communal gathering areas. We really enjoyed our time there.
My family o f 10 stayed at this property this summer and everyone enjoyed the stay. The house has everything that a busy family with kids of all ages needs. Cooking in the kitchen was easy with the amount of cooking utensils, plates, cups, etc. The area is beautiful with wildlife each morning right out the front door. We spent most of our time on the deck... cooking, eating and just enjoying time with family. The kids had a yard to play in and there are plenty of toy's in the upstairs bedroom. We took the kids for a short hike behind the house and into the trees. The many decks off this house make for additional areas to gather and it was nice that the kid's had their own area to play in and be away from adults and yet plenty of room to have everyone together. We had plenty of beds for the 10 of us. Although we didn't watch much tv. the internet worked quite well considering we were so far back in the forest. I look forward to bringing the family back to this location in the future.
The Georges have built a really beautiful home in the Idaho mountains. It is definitely a trek to get to it, but when you do, there are so many great things to say about it! ---
1) The house is built with great and sound craftsmanship. Out son, who is a master craftsman, admired the excellent attention to details. We simply found the Red River Lodge exceptional. Even had WiFi! One of the best VRBOs that we have stayed at.
2) The pine forests, the mountain range, the wildlife, the streams, and the great sky above are amazing and so relaxing.
3) Great attractions are easy to get to -- the Red River Hot Springs is a 30-minute drive away, and well kept by a family. Definitely a place to go! Red river is a short walk away and great for chilling on a hot suunny day.
4) Elk City can be relied on for extra food, drinks and whatever you need. We were pleasantly surprised.
And since perfection is not ever really possible, here's some "flies in the ointment" --
5) Red River Lodge is remote, the roads cannot be taken quickly, but then, being secluded must be something one is comfortable with (we definitely were!)
6) Being remote, make sure you bring the food and supplies you need. Particular items may be impossible to find locally.
7) In Heaven, I'm sure there won't be any biting insects. But deer flies, wasps, and mosquitos are around the Lodge and streams, so come prepared to swat them!
We made such amazing memories at this house. We had a total of three families. It fit all out teens and the adults. The kitchen is LOADED with everything you could ever need. The view is breathtaking and seeing all the wildlife in the meadow was a huge bonus. Hope to come back soon.
