HELIOS - Micro-chalet at Maelström (CITQ#304336)

HELIOS is a micro-chalet able to accommodate up to 4 people in a magnificent woodland setting. It is located on Mont Tourbillon in Lac-Beauport. Trails are laid out all around the mountain; mountain biking, fat biking, snowshoeing and hiking at the door. It is a huge playground affiliated with the Sentiers du Moulin outdoor center. Ideal for nature lovers, sportsmen or simply for relaxing, the site is situated 30 minutes from Quebec City ! Ride, Eat, Sleep & ..Repeat !!

*Glamping experience: high quality comfort in the middle of the forest!

The space
HELIOS is a cozy, two-story micro-chalet, yet each floor covers more than 20m2 (215p2). The chalet was specially designed so that the living room, located on the 2nd floor, offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding woodlands and mountains as far as the eye can see; from the first glint of sunrise between Ste-Brigitte de Laval and Ile d'Orléans, to the radiant sunset view between Quebec City and the Le Relais ski center. A panoramic 180 degrees that changes with every day. A real immersion in the heart of nature awaits you!

The micro-chalet runs on a 100% solar and propane system that is safe, high-performance, high-tech and environmentally-friendly! The water is drinkable and comes from an artesian well.

HELIOS has a fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities including fridge / freezer (regular size), gas stove / oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, French press and mobile island for 4 people, one bedroom (double bed), a sofa bed in the living room, a private bath with shower, an independent gas fireplace on each floor, air-conditioning on the 2nd floor and a large terrace with a barbecue grill available summer and winter.

** No television ** but a 10Mbps Wi-Fi connection. Also, cellular signal reception is excellent here; you will be able to make good use of your data plans.

Kitchen inclusions: Salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee, aluminum foil, wrapping film, paper towels, hand soap, alcohol-based antibacterial sanitizer, dish soap and kitchen towels. *No fondue set provided.

Bathroom inclusions: Bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, bath mat, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facial tissue, toilet paper, hand soap and alcohol-based antibacterial sanitizer .

Inclusions bedroom (double bed) and open area (sofa bed): Pillows, duvets and bedding.

Also, a clothes drying rack is available.

Note: A 9ft interior electrical extension is available for your small electrical appliances and / or your computer. Don't be afraid to forget yours anymore. ;)

Note that the roads on the mountain are rustic, unpaved woodland roads, either gravel or dirt roads. Although the roads are maintained throughout the year, this is a mountainous climate; please follow the region's weather recommendations, depending on the season. **WINTER : WINTER TIRES ARE MANDATORY**

* For cycling enthusiasts *: the Sentiers du Moulin outdoor center is renowned as one of the most beautiful mountain biking centers in Quebec. With 60 km of "singletrack" trails, they offer xc and all-mountain trails for all levels.

One our best stays ever!

We absolutely loved this place perched on top of a mountain overlooking the St Lawrence river. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, firepit and outside balcony, plus the peace and quiet of this special location. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment items and the BBQ grill worked as needed. There was ample heat and AC available depending on the season. Despite the rustic remoteness, all the needed creature comforts were there. We would definitely stay here again!

Cute escape in the woods

This property was amazing. Everything worked great and was very luxurious given the location. Directions to the property were clear and easy to follow. It snowed during our stay and I was very impressed by the effort to keep the roads plowed and accessible. Could not have asked for a better place to watch the snow fall!

Amazing location!

Really cool home with an amazing view and good proximity to town and Quebec City. The home has a good layout and plenty of room for two people, along with a really nice deck and porch. While it’s off the grid, it’s not noticeable- it has pretty much all of the modern conveniences. Private setting with a long gravel road to access, follow the owners directions in the listing (for us GPS didn’t bring us to the exact location).

Nous avons eu un superbe séjour dans le chalet Hélios. Super bike-in/bike-out. Nous avons eu le meilleur des deux monde, la tranquillité de la montagne Maelstrom et l'adrénaline des sentiers du Moulin pour le vélo de montagne. Sans oublier la vue qui est magnifique ! Nous avons adoré !

Stunning views

Helios is a very special place to stay. Daniel and Marie-France were incredibly helpful. The chalet was cozy and so clean. 360 breath taking views with trails leading right from the property. We biked/ hiked and snowshoed every day we were there. It had snowed quite heavily over night and the driveway/road was plowed by 7am. We would recommend staying at Helios a million times over.

C'est un endroit tellement magnifique. La vue est splendide, c'est tranquille. j'y ai fait du télétravail en vidéoconférence et je n'ai eu aucun problème pour y travailler. La réception cellulaire était très bonne aussi. Tout est confortable et j'ai été surpris par la quantité de choses qui étaient à ma disposition. Je n'ai manqué absolument de rien. Je vous le recommande sans aucune hésitation.
