Exceeded expectations!
It’s always a bit of a gamble booking a place in Big Bear—photos can be deceiving, and more often than not, you show up to find something dated and worn. That wasn’t the case with this cabin. Everything was very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as pictured. No musty smells, a fresh and beautiful kitchen, and an overall welcoming feel. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating, which made the stay even better. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.Great location for visiting Snow Summit!
I went up here with both of my 12 and 14-year-old boys and two of their friends. We rode for 3 days at summit Bike Park. Perfect location, parked the car didn't leave other than to go to the store. Rode our bikes to and from the lifts. And they have a perfect shed connected to the house out back to lock bikes in overnight and or snowboard gear. The place was comfortable and clean and the hosts were very responsive.

Nice place, great location, that could use TLC
The good:
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was quiet and comfortable if somewhat less glamorous than the pictures (kudos to the photographer). Walking to Snow Summit was amazing!
The less good:
There was a decent list of maintenance needed. Most impactful for us was that the queen bed was broken and made sleeping there uncomfortable. Worrying was an exposed screw point in the top bunk where our daughter slept.
On the rental description they specified one ring camera in the front door , wile I was setting up a portable charcoal grill on top of the glass table one the back yard , this camera light up and with a loud speaker creepy guy start yelling at me somenthing about to put the fire out ir I was going to get arrested , I put the fire out then he send me a text message apologizing foe what he said to me stating that it was a fire in a bucket !!! Really ??? He over reacted is not the first time we cooked smores on a portable grill and what he said to me it was uncalled for

Hello Marco, thanks for letting us know about your stay! The owner wanted to share the following: I sincerely apologize for being so forward and abrupt when speaking to you through the ring camera. I was speaking out of excitement when I saw the fire and I could not tell it was a portable grill that you were using. We did not want to make you feel uncomfortable in any kind of way which is why we apologized immediately after the incident. We will also have the listing updated to notify guests of the additional ring camera in the back of the home. Thanks for your feedback as we continue to improve for our guests!
Great hosts, family friendly, and super close to Summit
The host we very communicative and super friendly. Looked like they had some bad guests before us cause the back of the couch was broken, dishwasher was broken, and looked like the glass shower door got broken, which they replaced with a shower curtain. New couch hadn't arrived yet, but I was just super thankful they didn't cancel on us! House was great for families and lots of cooking supplies in the kitchen so we were able to make some meals easily. Also it was very close to the mountain, so it was very convent to take my baby back for her nap. Had a great time and would definitely stay again!
The Property was nice, it was smaller than it looks in pictures.
Also, the decor is different than it looks in pictures.
I do think some things should be updated and cleaned more thoroughly. Some of the furniture seemed to just need to be tightened, and there were a lot of cobwebs.
Overall, we had a nice time, and the property is in a good location.
Everything was as you would expect from a Big Bear cabin. The location was convenient for Snow Summit. Communication was prompt and helpful.
Overall we enjoyed our short stay.
Pros: location, fireplace, wifi, communication with mgr, and clean.
Cons: heater was not working well the first night but they fixed it promptly. Only 1 TV.
Overall a nice cozy place in a quiet area.

Not completely as advertised
LOVED the location! It was very quiet and we were able to walk to the slopes.
Owner was responsive. The electronic lock box was an issue, the owner shared that with me but we spent about 15 minutes trying to get the box to function properly.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the cabin was cozy.
We are four Moms over the age of 50. There is only one TV, not two as stated in the amenities, there is only one in the living room.
The kitchen however was NOT as advertised. It is not modern and updated at all. The cabinets are old and beat up. The kitchen sink is old and scratched up, old brown Formica counters, the dishwasher is sitting on the floor, not attached.
The kitchen fell short as some of the contents were old, beat up and rusty and some unusable. We couldn’t use the cutting board and the knives were terrible.
Based on the condition and lack of updated amenities, the value did not match the price.

Hi there, we're so glad you enjoyed the location, but we're sorry other aspects fell short of your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The electronic front door lock is a bit fickle, but it is brand new, and we messaged you detailed instructions on how to operate it. I was happy to take your call and help you access the property within five minutes of your arrival.
- We did remove the TV in the bunkbed room as it was no longer working. We apologize that we did not update you about this before your stay.
- We have made some upgrades to the kitchen and the rest of the cabin since we bought it, and we plan on doing more renovations to the kitchen this summer. However, everything is usable, and all the kitchen features you see on the listing are as advertised.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!
Overall we enjoyed our stay. There were plenty of extra towels and blankets, beds were comfortable, and ambiance was warm. Happy there were some children's books. Nice space and backyard area. Plenty of parking space. Great location.
The keypad was very fickle, though we were warned about that. The listing said there would be complimentary toiletries but there was only hand soap. There is a washer and dryer but we were not told to bring our own detergent. We could not find extra garbage bags. Water flow from sinks was on the low side. When sleeping in the loft, light may come in through the skylights from neighbors lights or sun in the early morning.
We did enjoy our stay, and are glad we came.
