Great stay in the rainforest. Convenient to the Volcano Park. The place was decorated very nice. Had all the kitchen and other amenities, great TV and Wi-Fi. We will be back next year.
Very comfortable place with lots of charm. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Volcano. We even got to see the eruption! Super memorable trip.
Perfect place in wonderful setting...loved to hear the frogs in the evening and roosters in the morning...great location to tour the National Park and Hilo and east side of the island...very clean and well stocked.
A perfect place to stay when visiting Kilauea, very close to the park and village.Perfectly appointed with all amenities, comfortable and spacious.Nestled within a bamboo forest with tropical flowers and birds, total paradise. There is a rooster meandering who will wake up earlier than you, though there is a white noise machine the neutralizes the early alarm clock.
Just a nice little place, off the beaten path, but still close to both the park and the town. Well-maintained, and has everything we needed for an amazing story. Check-in/out process was super easy. Would definitely stay here again.
Huge unit that had plenty of room to spread out. Had a good sized (not full) fridge with freezer. Plenty of pots and pans etc. Sauna was a nice addition.
Brenda was very quick to respond to our queries and was really helpful. We love the accommodations, have enjoyed the sauna and slept well. The gardens are lovely. We were perfectly located to catch eruption #36!
This is a lovely self-contained studio unit. It is surrounded by bush, and as such, is very peaceful. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an oven, microwave, coffee maker, and fridge, amongst other things. There is even a blender, which was great for fruit shakes. Unfortunately, there is no washing machine, which makes longer stays untenable. The location of the unit was approx a 15min drive from the Volcano National Park entrance gate. Directions given by the host were helpful in locating the unit. It would have been nice to have had some hooks in the bathroom, both for towels (including a hand towel) and for getting things up off the floor (ie. our toilet bags, as there was no usable area to put them).
The accomodations were really good, spacious and I had everything I needed. I liked the secluded location and the host was very responsive to any issues. Would definitely stay there again.
Such a cute little bungalow! We were a little disappointed that it was a sauna rather than the hot tub pictured, but it was still so nice. It’s so close to Volcano National Park, but also tucked away so you really feel out in the jungle. The coqui frogs, birds, and bugs make the most wonderful sounds to fall asleep to at night (but beware the rooster next door that will crow for about 20min around 3-4am every day ). This was such a perfect little adventure house for a few days!
As a local professional visiting from Oahu to support the schools, and overall this place might do in a pinch, but overall there were some concerns to be noted. Safety & Communication: There was a power outage at 11 PM, I tried to call the host, to ask where the extra power or emergency lighting were, as the batteries in the flashlights provided by the cabin, were dead. The host hung up on me. When I called back, I was told to "survive on my own" or like a 'just go to bed vibe'. There is no cell service at the cabin, making a blackout a genuine safety concern.Hygiene & Condition: The property is a little dated but works. A couple noticable things, the shower curtain was rusty, and the Teflon is peeling off the cookware. There is a stove which is nice, but again, dated. Misleading Location: The cabin is next to a house or backyard unit, with a road next to it. Conduct: The host’s attitude was dismissive and rude. For the high price charged, the lack of basic amenities (like a water filter or working batteries) is unacceptable, and kind of killed the vibe of the cabin.Overal the cabin is cute, and it is always beautiful to stay within the fern forest, but I would recommend finding a host who treats guests with basic courtesy in times of need.
Property was amazing! Perfect for our 10 day stay on the Hawaii island! Would love to stay again! Owners were accommodating and communication was great! Would have been better if the kitchen had included some sort of tray that could put food in the oven, and make sure you buy lighter fluid if you plan to grill as that was not on the property with the charcoal!
The property was great. It was the perfect location to enjoy Volcano national park. The cottage was just as described and so cool even in the summer. We would definitely stay here again.
The studio was perfect for our trip and was even better than the pictures. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of towels and blankets. The kitchen served our needs but could use a few more coffee mugs and wine glasses. It would’ve been nice to have a box of tissues as well. Overall it was great and we hope to be back.
Looks exactly like the recent pictures! Perfect size for our little family of 3. Very comfortable. Very clean. We were sad hower we didnt get any gecko friends joining us for coffee and breakfasts. Do wish there was a spatula tho for cooking. The sound of the frogs at night is extremely loud but we actually loved it and found it soothing. The chickens all around were great as well! Very secluded. And all though no view of the ocean, Hills or mountians its a very beautiful peaceful setting. Great spot for a home base to explore the Island.
