To say this was by far the best property I have ever booked is an understatement. It was beautiful and fully stocked with anything you could possibly need! The cleanliness was impeccable! You can tell that these owners love and care for this property! We plan to come back for an extended stay.
Took the family for some foliage, apple picking and youth hockey. The Freedom Cabin was perfect! The owners had everything we could possibly want ready to go for us and the cabin was immaculate! We had a great time and look forward to visiting again!

My family is tall so the beam in the Livingroom was a bit of an issue. also we had to buy an extension cord because of the location of the outlets. By the online photos we thought that the house was further from the road, The speed of the trucks was a little disturbing.
The cabin and our stay was perfect!!! The owners were helpful and very responsive. The cabin was clean, super comfy, welcoming, well stocked and exactly what we were looking for on our visit to Maine. I highly recommend it. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

The Freedom Cabin is absolutely lovely. It truly has all the comforts if home and so much more. The pictures on the website do not give it justice.. anyone who has the pleasure to stay will enjoy it as much as we did. The owners thought of everything and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for the pride you take in the home and making your guests feel welcome.

Stunning Private Cabin in the Woods
Perfect getaway! We loved the gorgeously done-up interior and the beautiful & easy to use wood-burning stove . The host family is thoughtful, kind, and generous. The area’s views are spectacular and the ponds on the property are so serene. I particularly loved the claw-foot tub & walk-in rain shower with pebble flooring. And to top it all off the Zen Den, complete with sauna, yoga mats & meditation-related accoutrements, truly allowed us to relax our cares away. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful cozy cabin
From the minute we walked in the front door, it felt like home. The hosts, Joanna & Lincoln are wonderful. They provided so many extras that were very much appreciated. They worked hard renovating the cabin and have truly provided a peaceful and cozy getaway. You will love the rainfall shower, the Zen Den, the two ponds, and so much more. We enjoyed our stay so much that we did not want to leave. Another favorite was the "duck". He will eat out of your hand and follow you everywhere. You can find the cabin on Facebook under Freedom Cabin.

From the owner: "Thank You for choosing the Freedom Cabin for your much needed peaceful cozy getaway. We love being able to provide a spot for people to enjoy."
It was a nice place to stay and had lots of little extras we haven't seen at some other VRBOs. They had everything you could think of. The book with the instructions for things was a little hidden as it was opened to reviews and thought that was all it was until we started flipping through it. One thing we weren't expecting was being right on the road, but it was minimal traffic. They had a duck on site that would follow you around and he was great entertainment for our sons. They had fishing gear available and we were able to catch several fish. It's a little far to Acadia (where we went one day), but is somewhat centrally located if seeing several sites in the area - Belfast and Moosehead railroad, Stone Tree Farm and Cidery, Fort Knox. Overall it was a very peaceful place and we would love to go back.

Beautiful cabin in Maine
We had a lovely time in the cabin! The grounds were beautiful, the ponds stocked with trout for fishing! We watched a beaver swimming on the pond and heard birds and moose at night. The fire pit was great for s'mores. The house was fully stocked with everything you need, and had plenty of extra towels, blankets, china and silverware. The decor was really beautiful. We all enjoyed the rainfall shower. It was perfect for a quiet secluded vacation, but also only a 15 minute drive to Tobey's where we stocked up on groceries and frequently bought pastries. Cell signal was a bit weak for us (Verizon) in the cabin, but there was wifi available and a smart TV with Netflix, HBO, etc.
The owners have definitely done a lot to make this cabin beautiful and welcoming and communication with them was great. They were very solicitous and accommodating.
I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone ! Perfect for a family vacation!

Escape from reality
. Freedom Cabin met all our hopes and dreams. The remote cabin provided us with time to escape and reconnect.A weekend away with no plans or expectations. Wiifii was spotty but really was fine with that.Don't worry about packing everything including the kitchen sink because they have thought of it all. Even some things you didn't think you would need like a pinch of a certain spice or a crockpot for the mulled wine to simmer in.The ZenDen will take you away to a dream land far away. Relax and unwind in the sauna after an amazing hike on a near off trail.Fido will enjoy every moment as well. Lots of room to roam and enjoy some new scents and smells. We had a great time just being together. The cabin has everything and more just open the door. Book it, don't wait.

Our home away from home.
This was our second experience with Freedom Cabin and it certainly will not be the last. We live in a secluded wooded area and most people would ask, why go to a place you already have? Simple. It isn't home and I am not looking around at what has to be done. Instead, I am fishing, sitting on the back deck reading a book, or just listening to the quiet. Yesterday, I saw a juvenile Bald Eagle in one of the trees near the front pond. I took time to visit local businesses. I can only say one thing about the owners. Lincoln and Joanna, ok maybe more, responsive, caring, friendly. It is like speaking to family members who really like you.If you are reading reviews to determine if this is a place you want to go, just stop, book the time you want before it is gone.
Property was advertised as suitable for 7 people. (Not so). We were party of 4. One downstairs bedroom was suitable for 2 adults. The upstairs bedroom was converted attic space with opening that had no railing or means for support to get into room. I was the only one physically able to climb into space after crawling away from opening. It was unsafe. I don’t understand how it passed code and suspect it did not. Dead dried flowers and clutter was everywhere. Seating in great room was one sofa and a chair. Others had to use dining chairs. Cabin stocked with leftover condiments and old spices. Tripping hazards everywhere such as raised tile under heater and throw rugs. Raised door sills as well. Too many undesirable issues to mention. I would not recommend this place that looks good online but sits right at main highway. Grass was not cut. Owner said because of rain (it did not rain the whole 3 days). Front door lock malfunctioned. This experience makes me want never to book a VRBO again. Apparently they are not well screened.

Hi Joyce, we take claims like this seriously and would like to clarify the items mentioned in your review. The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following details:- We went above and beyond to reach out to you prior to your stay to discuss your concerns, however, you never responded to our many attempts to contact you. - We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. - The listing does clearly state that this cabin can accommodate up to seven guests total and that the property requires stairs that may be difficult for guests with limited mobility, but we’re sorry if this caught you off guard.- We pride ourselves on being transparent and accommodating to all guests and would have been more than happy to walk you through the exact layout of the cabin before you booked. - We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property, so the features you see on the listing are accurately advertised, and guests can decide before booking if the cabin meets their expectations.- We hope that future guests can look past this review. As you can see by our many great 5-star reviews, we are accustomed to providing five-star experiences, and we look forward to this cabin hosting many happy travelers!
We really enjoyed our two night stay in the Freedom Cabin. The cabin was immaculate and stocked with anything you would ever need from the bathrooms to the kitchen, along with special little touches everywhere. Host Joanna was so friendly and accommodating and check in was a breeze. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
The property exceeded our expectations. It was even nicer in person, and we were impressed with all the little touches that the owners clearly thought about, like the grilling and smoking equipment, including cookbooks and seasonings, and most importantly the coffee supplies. The trout pond was so much fun for the kids. There are fishing poles and tackle and nets for guests to use, and the kids could have spent hours catching fish and frogs. It's a great spot for a family with older kids, and we already want to book it again!
