We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was such a charming little getaway — very clean, cozy, and exactly as described. It was easy to find thanks to the clear directions, and the setting was peaceful and relaxing. The weather during our stay was perfect! While the mosquitoes were definitely out in full force (thanks to the recent weather), it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We would absolutely recommend this cabin to others and are already looking forward to coming back!

Check-in and communication were great and the cabin is spacious. However, the Fox Trail address is entirely fictional. To get to the cabin, you drive 1.5 miles on a sandy two-track void of any lights or signage. This was challenging for our minivan lol. Also, we couldn't get hot water to come out of the regular shower, so we had to use the laundry room shower, which is cramped, awkward, and badly designed. Overall, we had a positive experience, but it would have been nice to know about the "driveway" before we booked our stay.

Cabin in the woods

After laughing due to being unable to find the cabin (forgot to watch video) it was great if you like being back in the woods. The road is a one lane road and a little bumpy but passable with car or truck. Annette was great at answering all of our questions. She warned us ahead of time about the water being discolored and has a slight smell. Easy fix was bring our own water for drinking and making coffee. Beds were comfortable with clean bedding. Great fire pit, gas grill and deck. Well stocked with extras if you need. Lots to explore in the area. BRING BUG SPRAY! We enjoyed our stay. Would rent again if in the area.

Paradise in Paradise!

Very comfortable cottage back in the woods, but yet close to trails and 123. If you are looking to get away and enjoy the UP, we can't think of a better place to stay!

Cool cabin in the woods

We enjoyed our stay at Paradise Cottage, a remote cabin in one of our favorite remote places - the Paradise/Whitefish Point area. Excellent space and provisions in the kitchen and living areas, comfortable and warm in the bed and bath areas. And, surrounded by woods on all sides (we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit on our last night). Location also perfect for our agenda - birding at Whitefish Point, at Vermillion Point, on Preacher Road. Perfect spot for our family group of four!

Great stay in UP forest cabin

We stayed at this cabin as part of our vacation in the Michigan upper peninsula, and my only regret is that I didn't book a longer stay. The house had plenty of room for us, and the woods surrounding the house were peaceful and smelled like Christmas. We enjoyed burning a fire in June, visiting the Shipwreck Museum, and the Falls during our stay.

not what we were expecting

The cabin smelled and the water smelled very bad. There were kid toys strewn about inside and out. The beds were nice. The cabin is a little run down and has some interesting wiring. I would not stay here again

Beautiful, peaceful UP Cottage

My husband, his cousins, and I stayed here to see the area and to escape from the Texas heat. The cabin was beautiful and surrounded by evergreen woods. Our hosts made us feel welcome, and the cottage was immaculate. We had an awesome time checking out the Falls, seeing the Shipwreck Museum, and enjoyed sitting out under the stars. My only regret is that we had not booked it for a longer time.

Overall Good Stay

Stayed here for a girl’s weekend. Overall the space was clean, met our needs, and was a good location. There were a couple of things we were disappointed in.1. The host was communicative leading up to the weekend and provided a detailed YouTube video on how to get to the property. The public video shared the keyless entry code, though. We brought our own door jam to make sure anyone with the code couldn’t get in, but still felt kind of uneasy. Typically with keyless entry, the code changes each visit for safety reasons and is privately messaged to the guest. Easy fix for the future to make guests feel safer! 2. The water. The listing mentions tannins but the water smells horrendous and tastes awful. We ran the shower once and it stunk through the house. Even with soap, every time we washed our hands, they smelled. We ended up having to buy a TON of bottled water to wash fruits/veggies and brush our teeth with. It did not feel like it was safe, despite the owner claiming it is. It would be nice to be more direct in the description that the water truly is undrinkable versus just mentioning the tannins. If you need a large space in Paradise, this is a good spot, just think the couple things above should be known to anyone preparing to stay here!

Smelly

the house was cute, but the pungent smell of the water was not good. Need to tell people that. It didn't smell in town, it should be addressed. Did not shower because of it. My hair would smell. Used bottled water to brush teeth. No curtains on the bedroom windows. Not enough towels Wanted us to clean the whole place and be out by 10, and pay 2 days $147.

Well-Appointed Lodge in the UP

This lodge, tucked away in Paradise, was everything we needed for our UP vacation: updated kitchen, great deck, fire pit, close to Tahquamenon, and enough space for everybody to spread out. Definitely watch the video about how to access the place — this is the UP and it’s on an unmarked road. Also, bring water. Like a lot of properties in the UP, the well water has tannins…

Beautiful fall weekend in the woods

We came for a short fall visit mostly to enjoy the outdoors at Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon, and around Whitefish Bay. This cabin was perfect for us - roomy, quiet, well equipped for cooking and relaxing, and Dino made us feel welcome and well cared for. Great to be both close to town and off on our own, and we enjoyed watching the resident Pileated Woodpeckers working on building next year's home.
