The island cottage was beautiful and we had a great time! Spent the mornings on one of the docks while our puppy enjoyed the water and space. It was just the relaxing vacation we were looking for!
Jane and Drew were great hosts!
We had an amazing stay at Ross Cottage. It’s a beautiful cottage - very clean, bright, private, and just a few steps away from the shore. It was also quiet on Macbeth Island. Beautiful sunset views from the dock. We’re thinking about going back next summer.

Thank you so much for this kind review. Your family were amazing guests. We were so excited to hear your son learned to waterski on Wood Lake! We very much enjoyed meeting all of you. Have a wonderful year ahead!
My wife and I (and dog Charlie) stayed at the cottage for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Pictures online are accurate and you won't be disappointed if you're looking for a quiet Island getaway. Cottage is beautiful, well-appointed, great deck and two docks - morning sun and coffee and evening sunset both spectacular. We even had a regular hummingbird visitor in the am. Loved kayaking and SUP around the Island.
Jane and Drew are great hosts, are next door if anything comes up, and made sure we were well taken care of. Will not hesitate to book it again next summer.

Thank you so much. You were amazing guests - taking in everything the cottage and Wood Lake have to offer! So glad you enjoyed your stay :).
Ross Cottage is so lovely, quiet and clean! We booked for a last minute honeymoon and the cottage in real life is exactly as described online, if not better. Jane and Drew are wonderful hosts, and very helpful if needed. The lake was deserted after labour day, and the quiet and calm was exactly the retreat we needed. We enjoyed the paddle board and kayak, had a small campfire, and enjoyed the wildlife. The lake is clean and the perfect temp for swimming. Our dog was in heaven and barely got out of the water. On rainy days, the cottage was cozy and bright, well stocked with games and books. The kitchen is fully functional and well equipped. We were sad to leave, and both agree that we need to come back next summer!

We cannot recommend enough Ross Cottage!
Jane and Drew are best, most helpful and kind hosts! They try to anticipate and accommodate any request. They truly care and want this to be your best vacation! They have thought of everything!
The cottage itself is beautiful, clean, new and up to date. The setting is serene, breathtaking with the most spectacular sunsets!
Wood Lake is perfect for kayaking, boating, skiing, swimming and fishing!
We got full use of the free kayak and paddleboard! There was also a canoe and paddleboat for our use.
Ross Cottage was perfect for myself, 2 adult children and 2 dogs. Everyone including the dogs had the best time! I miss being there so much and can't wait to go back!
Thank you Jane and Drew for sharing your cottage with us!

About the host
Hosted by Jane & Drew
Our family has been cottaging on Wood Lake since 1976. We purchased this property in 2019 to renovate as a guest and rental cottage. We loved the property for its close proximity to the water, level land, family-friendly shoreline, and privacy. And of course because it is on our treasured, clean, family-friendly Wood Lake. We have restored it through a complete renovation in 2020/2021, including new roof, walls, flooring, windows and doors and all new materials and appliances. It sits on a secluded 350 foot shoreline on MacBeth Island, across 2 wooded lots from our main cottage (not visible by land or dock).
