This was a perfect location for us to enjoy all the benefits of Port Douglas with none of the downsides, and only 10 minutes away from the golf course.
This peaceful, secluded beachfront property is beautifully presented and has everything you could wish for. We hope to be back again sometime soon!

Luxury Location - Not Quite a Luxury Listing
Oak Beach was definitely a luxury experience, we enjoyed walking the beach every morning and evening, it was fantastic. The house had lots of room and has potential to be a luxury rental. A few downsides, the lack of linens/towels was odd, similar priced rentals are well stocked but we had to request missing & extra towels The beach towels were bath towels and there were no outdoor beach chairs to enjoy the sand. The outdoor facilities were very tired and worn. The cushions were mouldy/stained and not cared for & the front entry seating area was very dirty and unwelcoming. We were thankful for the warm pool but the area around the house was not clean on arrival, pool glass & glass doors were dirty (the management company said the location makes it hard to keep it pristine but they were dirty on arrival-we could not check in early due to cleaning so that was odd)A simple bit of raking and sweeping outside would help. The pool maintenance left piles of what must have been salt/chlorine which set like cement on the pool bottom and sides...we asked for help with that but nothing changed during our two weeks. The kitchen a/c remote was missing and although we tried every other remote as asked, nothing was done to help with that. All in all, it was not worth the money with the exception of the location, a perfect 10 for that. For the price we paid it was overpriced and a disappointment but could be attractive if attention to detail and upgrades are made to the property.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts following your stay at our Oak Beach property. We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the stunning location, Oak Beach offers a truly serene escape, where the rhythm of the waves and morning walks along the shoreline create an unforgettable sense of calm.
The home is designed to embrace this setting, spacious, private, and just steps to the Coral Sea, we’re delighted it provided you with a restful base for your holiday.
We appreciate your comments regarding towels. As noted in our guest communications, one beach and one pool towel is provided per guest. During your stay, our commercial laundry partner had a temporary shortage of beach towels, and an additional set of white towels was supplied for poolside use. We understand this was not quite what you expected and thank you for your understanding in that instance.
We also wanted to acknowledge your comments regarding the outdoor areas. Your visit followed a bout of unseasonal heavy rain and strong winds, which, in such a lush, tropical setting, can make gardens appear untidy very quickly. Our team ensures the grounds are tended to prior to guest arrival, but nature occasionally has her own ideas, particularly in these leafy coastal locations.
Oak Beach continues to be one of our most sought-after destinations, known for its peaceful atmosphere, pristine beach, and immersive natural beauty. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and guests return year after year to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the effortless charm of barefoot luxury.
Thank you again for your stay, and we hope the tranquillity and beauty of Oak Beach will draw you back in the future.

More than we expected
Sometimes a property does not live up to the website. Inthis case, we had a whole extra floor with huge bedroom bathroom, and veranda that we’re not shown on the website. This is apparently a recent addition. The upstairs bedroom was not quite of the standard of those downstairs, which were beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The whole house was spotlessly clean when we arrived, as was the pool and the outside area. The front garden/beach is dotted with seating areas, including a table and chairs right on the edge of the beach, perfect for an evening class of wine. Our only small complaint would be that the agents who manage the property do not seem to check regularly enough for small repairs that need doing. For example, there were a number of lights that were not working, there was no plug for the bath and the bins had not been emptied for some time. The main problem, however, arose when we tried to barbecue one night and discovered that the lights over the barbecue were not working at all, and the area was in complete darkness. There was an electricians tape attached. to some disconnected wires, which stated that they were not to be connected under any circumstances. When we phoned the agent the next day she said that she had assumed that the work has been completed as she had received an invoice from the Electrician but obviously no one had bothered to check. Apart from this small inconvenience, we enjoyed our stay immensely and will definately return.

Thank you, Linda, for your review. We are so happy that you loved the house. Sincere apologies for the bins, they were emptied though the cleaner filled it up with the previous guest's rubbish. The wonderful local bin emptying service usually comes to the rescue when this happens though being a Saturday he was unable to attend. We will communicate this better in future. We were aware of 3 globes being out in the house but they were too high to reach and we wrongly thought with all the other lights working we could wait until after your stay to arrange the electrician. The BBQ lights were seen by an electrician and needed a part, thus the sign advising of this. The lady that answered the phone was not the one that inspected and only looked at the electrician invoice. She should have checked with the lady who inspected, so sorry for the confusion. The owner had bought a lamp for the area until we could fix that. Looks like our communication could have been better to explain about the bin and the light. We will be sure to work on that. We do pride ourselves on good communication. We look forward to having you return!
