The house is quite convenient for walking to downtown West Jefferson or the park. It is also close to Mount Jefferson for hiking/picnic/scenic overlook and not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway for a relaxing drive. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it was clean and everything worked well for us. We'd come back here again if we ever have opportunity to vacation in West Jefferson again.

Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and found the house nice and clean. It’s great to hear the last-minute booking process was smooth and communication was easy. Seeing lots of wildlife is a wonderful bonus! We’d love to host you again anytime.
Excellent location & the house was as described & nicely decorated. Curb appeal was good but the window boxes could use a little work on them. Overall, it was a very nice property.
It was a beautiful property quite lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The only criticism we had was the mildew smell in the master bathroom, which could have come from the shower curtain that was more of a cloth than a plastic liner.

Thank you for the kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the property and had a great stay. We really appreciate your feedback about the mildew smell—it was helpful, and we've since replaced the shower curtain in the master bathroom. Feedback like yours helps us improve, and we truly value it. Hope to host you again soon!
This house is really well done on the inside, simple and very clean! Very comfortable and the location is exceptional, able to walk from the house to downtown shops and farmers market.
We loved the house - very clean, everything we needed for our stay! Loved the convenience of walking to the market & festival on Saturday! West Jefferson is a quaint town with friendly people and we will be back!!
Could use improvement with landscaping, house is old, quaint, clean. Downstairs bathroom could use updating, hard to see in bathroom mirror. Lacking basic necessities like toilet paper, tissue and bath towels. Loved the location and had an overall fun weekend.

Thank you for the review! We will get with the owner and see what we can do about updating the landscaping! We also provide a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and soaps. If you are staying for longer than a few days, you may need to bring extras of these! We also provide two towels per guests in most situations, although there are always extras. If you ever have any questions, or need any extras, just give us a call!
Clean, bright, nicely redone old house just a couple of short blocks from "Main Street" (Jefferson Ave). No dishwasher or washing machine - which was no problem for us. Nicely outfitted kitchen with all the basics, plus a french press. Lots of old house character. Very nice to have a bedroom and daybed (in the sunroom) on the first floor. Upstairs bedrooms don't allow closet access and there's not really anywhere to hang clothing (fold-down hanger in one room would hold a few light items). Plenty of linens for kitchen and baths. Perfect for a girls' getaway weekend. However, the host and service fees add up to more than 300 - which was more than the weekend rental total. Rather misleading, but probably wouldn't be such a big deal if you're staying longer. Of course, we knew this before we booked, but if you're searching by price this looks much cheaper than it actually ends up being.
Nice quite neighborhood. House was beautifully restored, lawn and landscaping was perfect. I absolutely loved the kitchen, took me back to memories of my grandmothers house. Towels were very nice and plentiful. Bedding was quite comfortable, we couldn’t find a blanket though. The only complaint is you have to take your trash with you. In all of our years renting through VRBO that was a first. We had no contact whatsoever with the property manager but was required to mark a star.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house has been tastefully redone and is very comfortable. It is conveniently close to the downtown area, and we used it as a place to stay to when doing the creeper trail. Just lovely!
The house was perfect for us this weekend. Plenty of room and within walking distance to downtown. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and check-in was easy. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the use of this beautiful home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, very convenient for walking downtown. Shrubbery is a bit grown up and parking a little tight if you have a larger vehicle. We loved the charm of this older home, though the upstairs does have trouble getting as cool as the downstairs. Be aware that the fridge is on the small side and there is no dishwasher. We ate out mostly so it wasn't a problem.
