Very comfortable and fun stay for our weekend getaway. Lots of space, and amazing location right on Lake Michigan. Property manager was very responsive and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend, and will definitely book the same cabin again!
Perfect location, great view, everything we needed

We're delighted to hear that Cherry on Top was everything you hoped it would be, Bob! Thank you for choosing BVW Unsalted Vacations. We look forward to hosting you again in the future.
Had everything we needed— beach chairs and toys for the kids, outside hose to rinse off the sand, and comfortable beds. Time with our kids and grandkids goes so by quickly.

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your family vacation at Cherry On Top, Lynn! Thank you for choosing BVW Unsalted Vacations. We would love the opportunity to host you again in the future.
We got married here! Just my husband and I, our baby, and our parents. It was so beautiful at sunset, and just an unbelievably beautiful location. We were so pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it was. The pictures don’t do justice. It was the perfect vibe. Low key, understated beauty.

Can’t beat the view
We enjoyed our stay at the house because the views of the lake were terrific and the location was really convenient to Holland and Saugatuck. The house itself was tired and could use some updating. Mattresses and pillows were pretty worn, although Some things seemed fairly new, couch, some lamps, linens. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but would probably look elsewhere on a return trip.

Roberta - We are glad to hear you enjoyed your location and yes, this is an older cottage that has been recently become a vacation rental and the amenities have been reflected in the nightly rate. An amazing location with private beach!
You cannot beat the location of this cottage, right on Lake Michigan! The views from living room and master bedroom are breathtaking, and the beach is just down the steps. We have stayed in Macatawa 3 times at 3 different houses, and by far, this was the best location.
The cottage itself was small, but it worked for our family. There was a master bedroom with connecting bathroom, a smaller second bedroom, and even smaller 3rd and 4th bedrooms, with a 2nd bathroom in between. With the bunk beds, the cottage comfortably slept 8.
This is our second year renting Cherry on Top and our first time here with our 6 month old. The location of this cottage cannot be beat and we love that basically everything is provided - beach chairs, towels, toys, kitchen necessities, etc. The bedrooms are perfect for sleeping lots of people and a pack n play is provided which was perfect for our daughter. We had a few minor issues with a leaky faucet, ants in the kitchen, and a broken hinge on the basement door - all of which are totally to be expected in an older, lakeside cottage - and all of which were responded to and resolved quickly. We were very happy with our stay and look forward to making more memories here in the future.

Thank you for your feedback, Caitlynn! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your second stay at Cherry on Top and that the location was unbeatable for your family vacation. It's fantastic that you found everything you needed provided at the cottage, including beach chairs, towels, toys, and kitchen necessities. We're glad the bedrooms accommodated your group well and that the pack n play worked perfectly for your daughter.
We apologize for the minor issues you encountered with the leaky faucet, ants in the kitchen, and broken hinge. As you mentioned, these issues can sometimes be expected in an older lakeside cottage, but we're glad our team was able to respond quickly and resolve them for you.
Thank you for choosing Cherry on Top for your vacation, and we can't wait to help you create more wonderful memories in the future!
This cottage may be OK in the summer when the windows (that work) can be open and little time is spent inside, but in the off-season (mid-October) it is damp and uncomfortable. I left after the first night of my 4-night stay, flea-bitten and unrested. Having spent most of my short time inside, the condition and cleaning problems were obvious and unsettling.

Unfortunately your stay did coincide with a particularly rainy and cold weekend. I'm sure the weather contributed greatly to your less than desirable stay . Although we corresponded after your departure regarding the issues you found with the property no mention was made until this review concerning the presence of 'fleas'. We take concerns of this nature very seriously and can assure any guest there is absolutely no evidence of fleas at this or any of the properties we manage. Once again we are sorry you chose to leave early and were not able to enjoy the spectacular views and location...
This property delivered what we expected given the pictures and description. It’s an older property with older appliances, but then again, we weren’t looking for a luxury condo. It’s a fantastic spot with great access to the beach. There are nits we could pick with an older property like this (the shower in the master bathroom does not drain well), but all told we were happy with the experience of staying there. The communication was great.
Our family of five + grandma loved our stay. There's plenty of room, great views, and a wonderful beach w/easy access of 60 steps. This rental is within a family community and is lovely. You step back in time entering the cottage with older amenities, but it doesn't deter from the home. Tighter living quarters then we were used to & it was doable. We lived outside as much as we could. Location is fantastic & close to Holland and Saugatuck.
