First time to Harbor Island

A very nice place to stay. The view from the balcony was everything we hoped it would be! The bed in the master was very comfortable. We hope to stay there again soon.

Lovely condo with a great view! Watching the sun rise each morning while sipping my coffee was such a delight. We enjoyed a nice relaxing vacation and were thrilled to have such quick and easy access to the beach. The beds were comfortable. The living room furniture was nice as well. And the dining table was a glass-top, which made it very easy to keep clean during the week. Any time I had a question for the host, we got a quick and friendly response, and they were a pleasure to work with. If you appreciate wildlife, there’s a lot to see! We saw numerous kinds of birds on the beach and in the marsh, a family of raccoons, lots of turtle nests on the beach, and lots of crabs. It was quite entertaining. We washed our beach towels and swimsuits a good bit throughout the week and the clothes dryer seemed to struggle a bit, but it got the job done after a couple cycles. We would happily stay here again and would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a nice peaceful getaway.

Harbor Island

This unit was in a great location and we loved the layout of the condo. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole place was well supplied with anything you need. We thought the bed in the master was really uncomfortable and the decor is very dated. Overall a good place. *bring bug spray

Relaxing week

This place is exactly what our weary souls needed to rest. The area is beautiful and made for relaxing. I would say that the description should be updated to include the two flights of stairs to the condo for those who may not be able to make it up the stairs. The house is well equipped and we felt at home. The sound beach and pool are both fabulous for cooling off. The nearby Hunting State Park was a fun adventure and the beach is breathtaking. Cant wait to return.

Nice condo

Nice rental. Perfect location for sunrise. Only issue we had was not being told that building was being roofed. The roofers started work around 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Thank you for your review! We unfortunately also did not know they were going to be replacing the shingles during your stay. Unfortunately the regime that handles the building maintenance does not always communicate regarding projects. We are so sorry for the noise and happy to report the roof is complete.

April Sunshine

The condo has been nicely decorated and updated. Although it faces the ocean, it’s 20 steps up, so not ideal for anyone who finds stairs difficult. It does indeed sleep 6, but that’s tight quarters unless they’re children. A beautiful bouquet greeted us on the table, which was a lovely touch.

Thank you for your review - the bed set up is clearly indicated in the photos on the listing. Perhaps next time you should look into a 3 bedroom property as the second bedroom does in fact sleep 4. Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed your stay!

Great View!

Was very happy that pictures of condo were very accurate. Plenty of kitchen dishes, although toaster did not work and never figured out the microwave. Having 2 bedrooms for us was great. Just the 2 of us so we used the 2nd bedroom as a dressing room. Great view from deck and upstairs bedroom. I would have appreciated an instruction sheet on how to operate the 3 TV remotes! Definitely will rent this condo again!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! I'm so sorry you found the microwave confusing - I did check on the toaster and it looks like the button would not stay down. We will get a replacement into the unit! There actually is a TV trouble shooting page on the back of the informational binder on the coffee table. Please come again!

Could not have been more perfect.

My family stayed here for 1 week at the beginning of August,. Hands down, this is the best rental that we have ever stayed in. The first thing my 18 year old son said when we opened the door was.... "Is this Heaven"..... Well, its certainly is not Iowa... This Villa had everything that we needed and more. Super clean, easy access to the ocean and all activities at Harbor Island. Loved the fact that it was a bit off the beaten path and was far less congested then some places we have stayed in Hilton head. Make sure you take full advantage of all the amenities that they have to offer and try to get up for the sunrise to go walk the beach with the Sea Turtle volunteers. My family can't wait to go back!

Super small, could use some updates

For the most part the property was clean, some of the towels were pretty stained, the walls were dented and pretty scratched up, mostly for us it was a tad too small. Smaller than it appeared in the pictures especially the kitchen and bathrooms. I don’t remember the misting mentioning the stair required to get to the front door, and there was no where for us to store our beach chairs, umbrellas, and other sandy items. We had to keep taking them in and out of the car. Overall it was fine, and we enjoyed being right on the beach. Also the security gate workers did not give us directions, they gave us a map that wasn’t legible and it took us a little bit to find the right unit.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beachfront location and that your overall stay was a good one. To clarify a few points: the listing does note that the unit is on the second floor, and the square footage is also included, which can be helpful to review when considering space needs and access. Unfortunately, during the summer we do not typically have time to sand and repaint sheetrock when scuffs and knicks occur. We do reserve those projects for after our busy season. We haven’t received previous complaints about the towels, but we would have been happy to replace any that did not meet expectations if we were notified during your stay. Most guests store beach items just outside the front door or on the back porch—sorry to hear those options didn’t work for you. We also check our phones regularly and while we do not have any affiliation with the gate staff employees as they are a hired 3rd party company, we would have been happy to direct you to the right place. Thank you.

Nice condo

Condo was clean and comfortable, with a good view of the ocean. There are plenty of sheets and towels, the beds and pillows are comfy, and the kitchen has everything you need. We hadn’t been to Harbor Island before. I was surprised that the whole little island is a gated community. Maybe it’s to protect the dunes/marsh ecosystem. Take bug spray! The “Alligators may live here” sign was disconcerting, but we didn’t see any gators. We did see some cute marsh rabbits. The beach is only a couple of miles long, but lovely Hunting Island State Park is only a few minutes’ drive, and it has 5 miles of beaches plus miles of walking/biking trails. (And a fishing pier, a nature center, and a lighthouse). It’s well worth a visit. When we were there (in March) there was hardly anyone on the beach, and the weather was lovely. There’s really nothing on the island *but* beach (and a couple of unimpressive restaurants), but there are plenty of restaurants, groceries, and things to do in Beaufort, about half an hour inland.
