Great holiday getaway
Cozy mountain cabin. It had everything that you may need. Fireplace was a plus. The bed was comfortable. My boys (brittany spaniels) enjoyed the stay and the hiking we did in blue ridge. We will definitely be back!
We had a nice relaxing stay at the cabin. The fire place was nice and the kitchen had everything we needed. The house was clean and cozy. The neighbors were nice when/if we saw them. The dogs loved the walks around the mountain.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin for our little weekend getaway. The screened in back porch was very relaxing at the end of the day and early mornings for coffee. We had everything we needed and only had to bring our food and personal items. We will be booking here again in the future.
House was exceptionally clean and had everything you needed to cook and have a relaxing vacation.
Wish there had been a gas grill on the porch as the charcoal grill was a distance from the house.
Great get away!!!
We had a very relaxing weekend. It was a much needed trip. Everything was perfect. When we got there the bears had gotten into the trash from the previous visitors so the only thing I would recommend is to leave the trash bins on the screened in back porch but that wasn’t a big deal for us. Overall, it was so fun and so peaceful. My pup loved it too 😄

Nice Cabin
Cabin is very nice inside and out. Some things that need to be addressed are a torn screen on porch, loose back on bar stool, both garbage cans should have been empty upon our arrival, screen door drags on porch deck and blinds inside door were off the track. The upstairs toilet seat was loose but my husband luckily had the tools to fix it. Brochure stated certain items would be provided yet there were no dishwasher pods. We had to hand wash all of our dishes. (Luckily we brought a lot of disposable plates and bowls). Beautiful secluded area and neighbors were friendly.

OK stay
The home is nice. The pictures we viewed when we booked the cabin the grill was on the porch. The grill was by the firepit, and it would not light for us to use it.
The toilet was leaking, we called & text to report. They texted back, it took 2 days to get the toilet fixed. The furniture was uncomfortable for us. The houses were to close. The property manager was very helpful and did the best she could with the situation. The garbage had not been picked up in a while, but cans were overflowing.

Response from VrboOwner on 7 June 2023
Jimmy, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-"Thanks for letting us know about your stay. We can confirm that our listing accurately shows the gas grill near the firepit. We're sorry if you had difficulty lighting the grill. We always encourage guests to reach out to our local contact if they have questions or concerns. We're always happy to help.
-Thank you for notifying us of the leaking toilet. As soon as we heard, we immediately contacted a plumber to come out and fix it. We understand our property manager kept in touch the whole time to keep you posted on the status of the repair. The soonest they could come out was in two days and we regret this disrupted your stay.
-We're sorry if you found the furniture uncomfortable. Personally, we've always found it comfortable and have received compliments on it from our past guests, but we understand that everyone has different preferences.
-The trash cans were unexpected to us too. The company we used ended services for retirement and the customers were not notified. As a result, our trash service was delayed. We've hired another service and we're back to a regular schedule for trash pickup.
As you can tell from our wonderful past reviews, we try our best to deliver great experiences and great customer service and we regret that your stay was anything but that."
Our stay was very nice with a couple of exceptions. Cabin was very cold when we arrived so we turned the gas logs on to help warm the cabin more rapidly. With us doing so it caused the carbon monoxide detectors to start alarming (thankful they work) so I called the number on the fridge and it was the cleaning folks. I explained to him what was going on and he said he would have the owner call me but that never happened. We turned the logs off and opened the doors to allow fresh air to come in. We chose not to use logs after that. Internet was sketchy for streaming movies and I could not the SEC championship game on the TV😞 other than that we enjoyed our stay.
Handicap high toilets would be nice.😀
Place was clean and large. Well stocked except I found it odd that there were no hangers for clothes, good thing I packed my clothes on hangers and there wasn't any washing machine detergent. I had some of that too since you are asked to start a load before checking out. Minor things. There were plenty of extra blankets & pillows if you needed. Hated to leave, enjoyed sitting on the screened porch in the mornings drinking coffee and watching the deer go by. They would stop and look over at us. A quiet and peaceful place to stay which is what we want. Didn't see anyone while we were there. Went to Scaly Mtn for snow tubing. We missed going back to "Two Crows Farm" due to the weather {visited there last year}. Michael and Woody are wonderful, informative alpaca farmers. Not only do they have friendly loveable alpacas, Woody has a shop with beautiful items to purchase. Socks made out of alpaca wool, so soft. Many other items too. Would have been a perfect vacation if it had just snowed while we were there. Oh well, maybe next year.
Would recommend staying here. Family friendly, quiet, plenty of space for everyone. Oh, and pet friendly as well.
Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Bring Everything
The house was clean and smelled nice when we walked in. However, there were several bags of trash along with 2 full trash cans sitting on the porch. Then it went down hill from there. The TV was having trouble with the signal and we couldn’t get the College playoff game to come in very clear. It also kept kicking us out of Paramount+ and Netflix (we have our own accounts). There weren’t wash cloths in the kitchen to clean with or wipe the counters with. Had to use paper towels. The towels to use for bathing were slim pickings.
We stayed a week and couldn’t do any laundry (dryer out). No extra TP, no seasoning (just S&P), gas fireplace wouldn’t come on, no trash bags, only 1 dishwasher pod to be used on the day of checkout. No place to put groceries except the refrigerator. We had to rearrange the cabinets so everything wasn’t sitting on the counter. If you plan to stay more than a weekend, bring everything you need with you.

Peaceful and quiet
Hello from Florida,
We couldn't wait to arrive at Whittlers cabin. And it was worth the wait! Wished for snow, was looking forward to it, but no snow. Overall, we enjoyed the cold weather. The cabin was clean, really nice, large and the beds were comfortable. Enjoyed watching the deer come up close to the cabin, and it looked like they were eating food out of the deer feeder bins. We love wildlife! We enjoyed drinking our coffee out on the screened porch while listening to the rain. Hated to leave for home when our vacation was over.
A lot of activities were closed since it was winter, but not all. My husband and grandson went snow tubing at Scaly Mtn. Two Crows Farm has the friendliest Alpacs and they have a shop with items made from alpac fur, last year I bought wonderful socks, scarf, etc. The owners, Michael & Woody, are awesome.
So, when you go stay at Whittlers cabin, make sure you visit the local restaurants, visit the alpacs {and maybe get some kisses}, go tubing and enjoy it ALL. We sure did!
