Close-By Attractions

Rail Trail. The cottage is adjacent to the Victoria Rail Trail, which is an 85 kilometer trail with corridors linking Kinmount to Bethany, through Lindsay. This public trail is open year-round for recreational uses including walking, hiking, cycling, fishing, horseback riding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and, subject to possession of a valid trail permit, snowmobiling and ATV-ing.

Nature Trails/Parks. There are two nearby parks. Dahl Forest (5 minutes), offers 7 hiking trails through forests, wetland, and open areas, bisected by the Burnt River. Hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, birding, and bird watching are all available there. The Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve (10 minutes) offers hiking and snowshoeing trails.

Highlands Cinemas. This unique 5-theatre multiplex theater is built into the home of a local resident, just 5 minutes from the cottage. Even the parking lot is an adventure - consisting of a surprising amount of small parking areas winding their way back through the property. Find your spot and purchase your ticket to the show! While waiting to go in, be sure to wind your way through the theatre (which is really a museum, sorted in decades, of the history of film). If that wasn't enough, outside the house/theater is a cattery, built to support the local stray cat population.

Golf. There are several golf courses within 20 minutes of the cottage - Gull River Golf Club, The Links at Moncks Landing, and Blairhampton Golf Club..

Kinmount Fair. The largest country fair in the area attracts people from all over. The fair is held each Labour Day weekend in Kinmount, and this Ontario cottage rental is perfectly situated to attend (5 minutes).
