The Chalet is perched high on a hill with world-class views over-looking Mt Victoria and Mt Donna Buang, Warburton village, old-world gardens, changing vistas, mists, mountains, sunrise and birds of all persuasions.
We love this home and hope you will too. It's perfect for a romantic escape or for making wonderful family/friends memories.
Warburton is a quiet little town in the Yarra Valley, surrounded by tall mountains with a fresh water river running behind the village-style main street.
You and your guests will be guaranteed a good night's sleep in our two sumptuous bedrooms with queen-size beds with electric blankets and extra blankets for chilly nights. Main bedroom boasts an ensuite and private access to balcony. Both bedrooms have views across to Mt Victoria/Mt Donna Buang and old-world gardens.
The lounge-dining area is gorgeous. Snuggle up in front of a roaring open-fire on comfy couches with lux cushions and throws. The solid timber dining table sits eight. Two glass and timber doors open out from the lounge-dining room onto a swiss-style balcony that wraps around two sides of the house. Perfect for your early morning cuppa or cocktail at dusk. Cafe-style tables and stools complete the scene. There's even a day-bed on the balcony for an arvo snooze.
After a full day of bushwalking or cycling, sink into the three-person-spa in the main bathroom. There's also a separate shower, toilet and vanity in main bathroom.
Cook up a storm for your family and friends in the fully-stocked kitchen with fridge, stove with hot-plates, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, crockery, glasses, serving dishes, cutlery, saucepans, fry-pan, coffee and tea. Dine alfresco in the kitchen-garden right outside the kitchen door. Help yourself to fresh herbs from the kitchen-garden, if your cooking needs something a little extra.
Laundry features washing machine and tumble-dryer.
All linen is provided and professionally sanitised: bath towels, face washers, bath mats, sheets, tea towels, extra blankets, doonas or duvets, pillows, pillow-slips, throw rugs.
Stroll around the one acre plus old-world gardens. Sit on the swing-chair, discover the fairy garden or play an old-fashioned game of quoits in the walled garden.
Your free off-street parking is in the guests' carpark.
We love this home and hope you will too.
Purchased over eighty years ago, and built from locally sourced rocks and timber, the house as it stands today, is testament to a great love. In the 1980s, the owner commissioned a local builder to re-craft the original building into an Austrian-style chalet to appease the aching home-sickness of his beloved wife.
The house is part of that love-story.
Guest access
The house is self-contained with private entrance.
And another thing
The house isn't recommended for small children due to the balcony. Non-walking babies and older children ok.
Short-stay guests often stay in the apartment above the Chalet, so you may hear moving-around noises, similar to what you'd hear in an apartment building with people on the floor above you. Short-stay guests book the Garden Cottage on the floor beneath the Chalet.
Keep an eye out for fallow deer - the Bambi type - who often visit. They just appear, then poof they're gone.
For larger groups, book the Garden Cottage too. Situated on the property, this cute little studio caters for a couple or a single, with its own ensuite and coffee/tea making facilities. It's only a few steps to the Chalet and Garden Cottage guests can be part of the fun in the big house before moseying on down to their private hide-away.
Definitely, no smoking/vaping anywhere on the property.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept bookings from people who do not have prior reviews, or have poor reviews. We are sorry we have to do this, but with over 200 bookings over the past four years, we have had a small number of bad experiences, and all of them have been with people who have not had prior reviews. Unfortunately, a few have spoilt it for many.
We thank you for your understanding.
