What a wonderful little duplex! The host was exceptionally responsive! The accommodations were clean, neat, and welcoming. The attention to detail with the 50's decor was unsurpassed. We will definitely keep this location on our travel list.
What a fun place to stay in Rapid City! The vibe was great! We loved it! So close to the wonderful downtown and surrounding areas! Host was very responsive to questions and needs. Loved the old Zenith stereo too! Thanks for letting us play it!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We're so happy you enjoyed the vibe and that you played the old phonograph. I am still looking for the correct antenna for radio reception. (the old Bakelite rabbit ears). Thanks again for booking with us.
A very cute, well appointed house within a mile of all the restaurants and bars in the city center. Plus, in was easy to get to all the nearby National Parks and sights. We had a great stay and we’re very pleased with our experience.
We really enjoyed the cute decor! The place had everything we needed. We made a few meals in the well-stocked kitchen and felt very at home during our visit. Loved the thick towels in the bathroom, too. I’d highly recommend staying here.
We loved staying in this adorable, retro-style cottage! It had everything we needed for my family of four. The location was great for exploring the Black Hills, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devil's Tower, and everything else the area has to offer!
Great location to everything. The 50’s decor was cozy and charming. The host was very nice and accommodating. A very great find!

Charming and Comfortable
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It has all the amenities needed. We also cooked several meals during our visit and appreciated having everything there to facilitate that. The decor made it extra special! It felt like being in a time capsule. So fun!
This home is a little step back into the past with all the modern amenities. The location is very close to downtown where there are many great restaurants and shops. It is also very close to the main roads that take you to all the attractions in the Black Hills. We were able to walk to a wonderful breakfast restaurant. Communication was excellent both before and after our stay. I would definitely recommend this fun fabulous home!

From the owner: "Mary, thank you so much for taking the time to review our place. The central location is nice, huh. We're glad you enjoyed everything."
This duplex was in a great location to head out to the National and State Parks easily. We saw 3 National and 2 State Parks while there! The place was clean, well stocked, and decorated nicely with a cute retro vibe. I can’t say there was anything we needed that wasn’t there. The laundry room was a bonus!

From the owner: "Thank you for the nice review. We're happy you enjoyed the home and the Black Hills."
This is a cute house with 50s style decor. We had all that we needed. The house is close to all the fun amenities Rapid has to offer and easy access to the roads leading out of town. The house is located on a busy road, but it was quieter at night than I expected. The owner provided a sound machine to help cover outside noise, but we didn’t use it. Overall, this is a cute house and I would stay again

Sisters trip
Lusting stated it was a house with east parking. NO. It was a duplex on a busy street corner that required we park around the corner from our door. Duplex was not very clean. Hair balls in many areas of the floor

Anonymous, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you.
- The listing clearly states that this is a "2-bedroom, 1-bath duplex", but we have asked that Evolve add this to the listing heading so that this is not confusing to our guests who don't completely read the description. We're sorry for the confusion.
- Front door and parking photos were sent to you via text. The parking is simply on the opposite end of the building.
- We take cleanliness very seriously and have not had any prior issues.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Okay but issues
Property is a duplex which is clearly stated in the listing and not a problem. However, while the listing states window units for air. It doesnt state that these are only in the bedrooms. It was very difficult to be comfortable in the common areas of the house. Of more concern though were the snakes nested around/under the house. Snakes were not dangerous, but property managers knew they were there and didnt provide any advanced warning. We saw at least 4 snakes in the span of 5 minutes. If snakes are an issue for you, you may want to consider another property.

From the owner: "I'm sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable. The kitchen and living room windows will not accommodate an a/c unit. The ceiling and living room fans will move the cool air from the bedrooms into the common areas. Per our previous conversation, the pest control company keeps a snake deterrent on the ground. It is reapplied after rain which lately has been daily. Luckily they can't enter the house"
Everything you need for a small group stay. The house was clean and had a small fenced in area for a small dog supervised visit. 5th street is a busy street till about 8 pm. The neighborhood has plenty of side walks
