This is a beautiful cottage with a lovely sandy beach on the river. The kitchen is well laid out and has everything you need. The bathrooms are very well appointed. The deck is huge with plenty of seating. A giant dining room table makes meals easy. Although you feel completely secluded, the cottage is just a short drive to WalMart, Timmie’s, in Pembroke. It’s also a quick trip from Ottawa.The host was easy to deal with and provided lots of information.I would definitely recommend this lovely spot!

We loved our recent stay! Having a sandy beach right outside was amazing and allowed our kids plenty of space to hang out and play. The water was cold, but we were expecting that. When the sun finally went down, we all had dinner around the gorgeous dining room table and then followed it up with lots of board games. The space was great for our group of 8. The host was great at communicating with us and had a couple of minor issues fixed for us the morning after I messaged them about it. Honestly, the only downside we all agreed on was the fact that the dining room chairs were really worn out and could use some new cushions. They were a bit uncomfortable to sit in for long amounts of time. All in all, we had a great time and would keep this place in mind for future getaways.

My family really enjoyed this rental. The sleeping areas are quite separated so that everyone was able to have privacy and space. The kitchen is a very good size and well- equipped except for the fact that we could have used more eating utensils. It is spacious and so handy to the eating area. We also loved the stools at the island and actually used them for eating for our two kids a couple times. The air conditioning was very welcome since we were there when temperatures soared to 35 degrees. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the water. A bonus of this place is the wildlife: deer (almost every day), kingfisher, woodpeckers, garter snakes, baby ducks, feeding geese who never ventured onto the beech. Everything was very clean and the bathrooms are especially well-equipped. They look like they have been recently renovated and were a real bonus to our stay. Our host, Chami, was very ready to answer any questions we had and help if needed. We hope too return next year.

We really loved the house and the location. Stunning sunrise views, very comfortable rooms and beds and all the amenities one would wish for. Chami was very helpful with our check in and out directions. Close to Pembroke and shopping and the golf courses we played.

Upon arrival we discovered the cottage had not been cleaned. throughout the stay we found more and more including dirty dishes in the cupboard, the smoke detector going off due to dirty pans in the oven and a dirty oven, dirty microwave, sand all over the floor, sinks and toilets dirty and tons of dust, cobwebs and spider webs. The deck is a tripping hazard with boards popping up everywhere, the lawn was not maintained with tall grass around the fire pit area. The windows on the deck were covered with hundreds of spider nests and huge black spiders would cover them as soon as the sun went down. we went without hot water for over 14 hours. at the end of the stay we asked for compensation for the lack of cleanliness and care of the property since we paid a cleaning fee but did not have a clean property when we arrived and the owner said he would have offered us a refund and cancelled our trip but would not compensate even though i sent pics the first day. cancelling the stay is not an option when you have guests travelling 6 hours to stay. There was no resolution or compensation for the dirty house. 2 of us also ended up with bites that look like bed bugs so upon arriving home we had to go through full contamination. offering to cancel our trip and leave us with no place to go is not an option and does not make up for the dirty place.

We take the maintenance and cleanliness of our cottage very seriously, and we would like to clarify a few points regarding your stay.Regarding cleanliness, we always strive for perfection. However, because we did not receive these notifications until 11:00 AM the following day—after the property had already been occupied for nearly a full day—our cleaning team was unable to verify or address the issues in real-time. We always encourage guests to notify us of any immediate concerns upon check-in so we can resolve them instantly.Our property is located in a natural forest park area. While we maintain the cottage diligently, encounters with local wildlife, including spiders and cobwebs, are a normal part of a rustic forest experience.The 14-hour lack of hot water was the direct result of a major regional storm and power outage that affected the entire area. This was an act of nature completely outside our control, though hot water was restored as soon as utility power returned. Our phone numbers are provided for urgent situations, and we are always accessible by phone for immediate emergencies.Regarding the deck, this is a newly built wood deck. Due to natural weather shifts and seasonal temperature fluctuations, outdoor wood can expand and shift slightly, but we routinely inspect it to ensure it is structurally safe.Most importantly, we take claims regarding pests with the utmost seriousness. Following your check-out, I personally visited and thoroughly inspected the cottage. I can definitively state that there is absolutely no evidence of bed bugs on the property. In our 4 years of hosting, we have maintained a pristine track record with zero history of pest issues.We always try to work with our guests to resolve issues during their stay. However, no requests for resolution or compensation were made while you were on the property. We do not provide financial compensation after a guest chooses to complete their full stay."

This property was exactly as pictured, very clean and had necessary amenities. Very nice to have the coffee bar set up. One thing, we were not aware of the trail system two doors down. It is very beautiful and we used it daily. May want to add that to your ad on VRBO. Huge selling point. Very cute/quaint town.

Family reunion
