Wonderful beach. Great deck overlooking it. Charming spacious 5 bedroom with lots of living space. We loved the screened in porch where we ate our meals and played games. Lots of steps to the house and down to the beach in case you have older family members. Loved watching the sunset every night sitting on the deck.
The wooded setting directly on Lake Michigan was perfection. We loved the screened in front porch for all of our meals, morning coffee and game times. The deck was our sunset watching base and a shady reading spot during the day. The private beach was well appointed with lots of beach chairs. The fire pit behind the house in the forested area was great for our s'more making! Thanks for sharing your family cottage with us!

Amazing location, historic gem, house needs major work
The property location and historic home are quite special—however, this house is not in rental condition. The house is cluttered with personal memorabilia and lacked basic cleanliness from the kitchen to the bed linens (cobwebs, rust, dust, sand, etc). The bathrooms are updated and in good working condition. The kitchen is tiny and limited functionality for feeding our group of 10. The general feeling is that while it is charming and one of the oldest homes in the area, it is very tired and needs a lot of updating to be a fully functional rental for a family of 10. With more attention this could be a fantastic vacation cottage. The beach access, deck and porch are lovely. We hope the house gets the love and upkeep that it deserves.
